Or, you know, his actual support in real life is far far lower than his internet support.

See the problem with courting the disaffected voters vote is that they don't believe in voting. So good luck with that.

Is there any way we could have a Ron Paul / Dennis Kucinich ticket?! Never would a campaign be more honest and up front. And their impact crater would become a new great lake!

Ron Paul's supporters are simply too high to actually vote for him understand why his policies are completely unworkable

/FTFY

2012-04-05 01:55:02 PM
No, libertarianism is stupid,,,when people actually look at it closely across many issues, they suddenly are less enamoured with it. RON PAUL! supporters don't want to admit this, so they imagine they are so awesome they are beyond the understanding of most people (except other brilliantly minded libertarians like them) or something something something sheeple something something entitlements something something something freedoms...good for them that libertarians live in Bizzarro World where 3rd place is best place in elections and the less votes you get means that you are totes validated.

2012-04-05 01:55:04 PM
Good. RON PAUL would be to America what Godzilla was to Japan.

Right-wing Libertarianism is fine for rugged Fark IndependentsTM living out some Walden/Randfascist fantasy in the privacy of their slightly fuddled heads, as long at stays in their cranium. Actually Existing Liberterianism would be a world-wide disaster.

People who use social media to spread the word O

People who vote in republican primaries. O

The circles of that venn diagram don't touch

2012-04-05 01:58:21 PM
But if the media would just play nothing but Ron Paul youtube videos 24/7, everyone would love and want to vote for him! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

2012-04-05 02:05:31 PM
I'm pretty sure none of the people I know who support Ron Paul actual vote in elections. So yeah.

2012-04-05 02:08:15 PM
The problem with Ron Paul is that nobody in the GOP is ambivalent about him. They either love him so much that they will not vote in the general election if he's not the nominee, or they hate him so much that they will not vote for him in the general election if he is the nominee. A lack of middle ground makes it hard for him to ever win elections.

Has anyone signed up for their new VoterID cards yet? I'm tired of showing my drivers license to the polling officials every time I go to vote, whom I know personally and have known all my life, when they check their big log book for my slot so I can sign my name to show that I voted.

I need another card in my wallet because none of them are good enough to prove I am who I say I am. My social security card -- laminated with scotch tape, couldn't believe the government would issue such an important document on bare paper -- my driver's license, all my credit cards with my name on them, my fraternity membership card with my name on it... I can understand how someone might doubt, it's flimsy, it's not enough, it'll never hold up, not in a court of law...

Luckily for everyone not Ron Paul it takes more to get elected US executive than it does to be president of the internet.

I love RON PAUL threads because they give me the perfect opportunity to share my Paultard co-worker's Facebook posts. He is on RON PAUL's dick like there was Newcastle and gold bullion coming out of the tip.

This is one of today's. On a good day, he will post several.

I've had Paul supporters insist that Ron Paul wasn't responsible for campaign ads that end with "I'm Ron Paul, and I approved this message."

No, seriously.

I do not get why people think he is crazy. He just wants to follow the constitution. You know, declare war in congress, states rights, what the federal government was actually set up for, balance the budget, no fiat currency controlled by private banks, etc. Its more like people want to be slaves to a private bank, an go to war by executive fiat, and have the government tell them what to do.

I am convinced that a vast majority of americans literally do not understand what the constitution says, nor do the not know what a free country means.

He doesn't, as far as I know, but he is a HUGE Alex Jones fan and takes everything he says as unmitigated fact. A few weeks ago, he was absolutely sure we were hours away from war with Iran and you would see if only you opened your eyes. We were hours away from war with Iran for a couple of days and then he finally gave up on it.

He also denies global warming, believes Breitbart was killed by Obama, and is also quite Jesustastic. He's just the quintessential Paultard - a compulsive contrarian championing and taking the high road on "unpopular" ethical dilemmas that exist only in his imagination.

Here's another gem:

Ron Paul supporters remind me of the American atheists.

The most dedicated activists spend tons of time creating political imagery or discussion online, they don't have as many connections with people who share their beliefs IRL, and they have had a notable lack of success at effectively advancing their causes because they eschew "traditional" politics or methods of mobilizing and uniting supporters.

In acting like fringe groups, they remain fringe groups. But hey! They'll never compromise on their perfect beliefs.

So, this SHEEPLE thing is apparently still an actual, non-ironic thing, it just switched to Ron Paul people, eh? I hadn't heard it used except in jest for the last five years or so, but then I noticed a FB friend of mine using it in conjunction with a Ron Paul link. He was not joking.

Really? "Sheeple?" Am I living in a 1997 Rush Limbaugh book?

Explain what Fiat currency is and why it is bad please.

Name the wars that we have fought without Congressional approval versus the ones with Congressional approval.

From my facebook this morning:

B**** T****** via Ron Paul 2012
Let's see another candidate pull a crowd like this.
Ron Paul draws crowd of 10,000 at UCLA!

I thought about pointing out the crowd sizes that President Obama has brought out in 2008 and even in 2010... but then figured I wouldn't be mean to his fantasy.

DeltaPunch: His whopping 50-delegate count would appear to confirm this. Hell, Newt f*ckin' Gingrich has nearly three times as many delegates. That's really really sad.

And that's with his team knowing all the little tricks to get the most delegates out of the process.

And Newt's campaign doesn't fill out the paper work right to even be eligible for all the delegates they could.
