Wow, Bobby really does love the sound of his own voice. This should be great.

I am getting tired of Bobby V. Bring back Tito. At least he has some class and was quiet.

This is not going to end well.

I don't think you can fill an hour long segment with repeated calls from the same two guys.

The Michael Kay show is one of the worst radio programs in New York.

Lupica is the worst of course.

I have a feeling "Paul from Staten Island" will get his ass beaten again.

I'm liking it so far.

Here's the key. Bobby is very smart and knows what to say and when to say it. Michael Kay asks the questions that some of the Boston media will not, because they, to some extent, have to suck up to him a little bit being in the same city. What we get is very interesting questions and answers. I like the show.

Handled talking about Schilling real great.

Not sure how take that, outrage or the front office shooting torpedoes.

I was going to post in the Sox thread the other day that they seem to be trying to channel the dysfunction of the 77 Yankees. Now I think their sights are set much higher than that.

The New York gig is cool I guess, meanwhile Boston gets stuck with this guy?

Here's your first question, Bobby: have you and the GM discussed why the closer that $50 million was spent on is already injured and going to miss most, if not all of the season?

I'm already getting sick of Bobby V., so by mid-September the Red Sox better be sitting comfortably in a playoff spot or Bobby can go back to inventing sandwiches again.

He has a two year contract. The guy has it made.

Why not.

// Why yes, I am ignoring the crap that went on in Japan earlier this week.

Eh, we're just using the ESPN thread now. Also, MLB likes using either the Cards or Reds for their season opener, and they also wanted an excuse to show off the new abomination in Miami.

I think they just want Ozzie to freak out on national television for game 1. Can't break any continuity with the Guillen or else there will be... sound byte royalties to pay?

That's what the rest of baseball gets for letting the damn cardinals win it all last year.

Yep, definitely the Keith Olbermann treatment.

/Non-Story. Standard contract. Every prominent Jet and Giant already has one.

Every prominent Jet and Giant play for a NY team.

The fact that he's the manager for Boston is what makes it unusual.

Eh-- I don't listen to ESPN radio anyway. Every time I tune it in it seems Lupica is on.

You used to say to a guy like him, "here's a dime, go call your friends."
