AV Club picked up on that. I haven't been able to come up with a snarky enough headline to submit it though

As a fan of the Brewers, the Packers, and Aaron Rodgers, I am thoroughly amused. The Brewers' commercials of the last few years have been great.

Now if they get Jermichael Finley to catch, they can set a league record for passed balls.

From what the rumors are Green Bay are, I thought he was a catcher?

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I hate myself for how hard I laughed at that.

Also, no way Rodgers would go Full Ankiel, you never go Full Ankiel (new window)

I don't understand why MLB won't put a team in Baltimore, seems like it would be a good market for pro baseball.

Nice try. I have family in Green Bay--there are no rumors of that nature.

Present a fact or STFU--rumors are one of the most damaging things to a civilized society.

Rumors and made up allegations allowed Hitler to decimate the power base of a military structure that was holding him back from acting on his insanity. Is that what you want, to be part of Hitler's machinations?

because they think fans are stupid they felt they needed to add the part about "not to bad for a quarterback" otherwise they might be confused.

I was never an Orioles fan but I did live in Maryland from 1994-1996 and 2002-2005. Why can't Peter Angelos (sp?) sign a free agent who wasn't juicing or past his prime? IIRC he stood with the PLAYERS during the 1994 strike that killed the World Series. Why is he such a pariah?

I spend a lot of time up in the GB area (am there now, actually). I hear a lot of Packer rumors. Rodgers story is quite interesting... Google it if you don't believe me.

I've always wondered how fast an elite NFL QB could throw a baseball.

Would most hard throwing NFL QBs easily throw in the 90s in baseball? Or is there a technique difference that would prevent it?

Having absolutely no experience as a pitcher or a quarterback, I feel uniquely qualified to answer this question.

I would guess an NFL QB (who never played at least college level baseball) could throw fastballs in the high 80s, but couldn't do it for 100 pitches and wouldn't be very accurate.

I seem to remember a story about an NFL quarterback who played baseball in college who could stand on home plate and throw "home runs" into the outfield stands. However, I cannot find the candle of thought to light his name.

Lifetimes are catching up with me.

I was under the impression that it was a Redskins castoff (Rypen?) but I can't find anything to support that.

Elway sounds more likely.

It's really kind of pathetic. It reminds me of Pats fans who think that they're making a point by talking about how much Brady is probably banging Gisele, like it's an achievement they should be proud of.
