Sad indeed. He and Tony Guerrera were my favorite tag team.

When the Golden Age of Wrestling was Gorgeous George, this was the Silver Age with Saturday afternoon WWF wrestling. These were the days when McMahon interviewed the likes of the Grand Wizard of Wrestling, the Fiendish Mr Fuji, Haystack Calhoun, and Classy Freddie Blassie.

As long ago as it was I can still remember him - and he must have been in his 50's and still doing that stuff.

2012-04-04 10:14:13 AM
It is now to Tatanka to lead the tribe to the Intercontinental Belt!

He was one of the tag team greats back when that really meant something. RIP Chief.

I remember when Valentine broke his leg.

He was an Italian named Joe Scarpa and he used to joke that he was a member of the "Wop-a-ho" tribe.

Him and Bruno Sammartino were my favorites.

Older than dirt.

Did you hear about Chief Jay Strongbow's last match?

He lost to The Undertaker.

Heenan hate him. In his shoot he said he was a backstabber. He was a bitter asshole. And he shouldn't even complain about the drives, most of them were in the northeast, close together. He retired by the time they went National. He only did a short run in the NWA.

/Actually didn't get this gimmick until he was in his 40's, a time when most wrestlers are hanging them up.

// son worked as a break dancing jobber in the late 80s, Mark Young (had to be a rib with that name)

Hmm...I don't think so. Jay Strongbow Jr did team with Wahoo for a while. Bonus: he actually WAS the son of Jay Strongbow.

/anybody else know?

And this combined with yesterdays Randy Orton comment puts you on the favorite list...i wish I could just get a best of those two DVD, and some of the best of Jesse and Vince. CM Punk did an amazing job when he blew out his ass muscle a while back.

Sad. But Ivan Putski is my favorite wrestler from that era. And wrestling can have nothing on TV like they had with George "The Animal" Steel. One match when he started biting some guy's face off, instead of showing it all of a sudden a big X covered the action on the screen while the announcers went crazy over what was happening. Now that was wrestling, and it was real to me dammit!

I remember when they redid that storyline with Tatanka (Buffalo) and Bam Bam Bigalow in the 90's.

I remember the tag team matches with him (can't remember his partner) against the Executioners and Captain Lou Albano. One one time Captain Lou hid a third Executioner under the ring.

I have smackdown on.....YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
SI SI SI SI SI SI SI

BAH GAWD DC, you better carry this over and get a Daniel Bryan face cheer

Dammit Vince, you really don't won't Christian or Daniel Bryan do succeed to you. If DC cheers DB, Vince is going to have him kill Mae Young live. THIS IS WHY YOU CAN"T GET RATINGS, YOU ARE KILLING YOUR BEST IDEAS!

2012-04-06 09:16:49 PM
Ok, after all that....the crowd is booing AJ.

You DC lurkers better save the day. That's it on my end, I just wanted to see if they would pipe down the crowd noise (they did, you could see people yelling YES but barely hear it) and see if they would add an extra track of boos (can't tell). However, there were enough YES! and Daniel Bryan chants that there is still hope.

DC, be ready for Daniel Brayn to be escorted to the ring by Daniel Snyder.

Also, I'm submitting only "YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES" as my headline and if it doesn't win, FOR SHAME
