This is NOT going to win any arguments for mega-purses.

That's just disgusting.

Didn't the old "Pitch In" campaign in the 80s do any good?

Guess they're lying about the name "Virgin" Islands...

What, you never heard of a papurse?

Yeah, newborn babies don't usually carry much in their purses.

Sadly, I thought this was actually going to be an article about some new trend for hipsters in huge cities (Japan, US, or somewhere in Europe). I really, really did.

I guess I'll have to wait another year for this to become a trend, and then disgust me.

Really brief cases or page bags are more suited to the task. "Hang on your honor, I need to feed the baby". *Puts briefcase on the table* *pop* *pop*. Or you could pull it out of a big hat like it was a rabbit. "And for my next trick..." You could just keep it in your computer bag. It's a fully interactive processing component, unfortunately, it's still in beta and a real RAM hog.

They probably have draconian child seat laws there.

old song...

"She says just a moment please
I can't find my keys
And here's what happens while he's waiting for her squeeze"
She pulls out
Lipstick, powder, bubble gum and bobby pins
But she can't find her keys "her keys"
Curlers, tweezers, cold creme and candy bars
But she can't find her keys "her keys"
Nail file, school books, an autograph of Fabian
She can find with ease
But I'm standing here waiting for a goodnight kiss
Cause she can't find her keys..

..and it just goes downhill from there (new window)

Wait...Wait...Let me say this...

"Newborn Babies do not belong in zipped up purses."

/Let's make that clear.

Saw the headline on FARK and figured it was some nonsense in Florida.
Go outside, turn on the local news... FML!

With all hell breaking loose here it's disheartening to see this is the only thing making mational news.

Everybody knows babies not born in a hospital will surely die. The government must intervene.

We already carry babies around in bags.

How's it any different from this?

Ladies have been carrying their Baby Replacement Dogs around in their purses for years now. It was only a matter of time until they started with the actual babies.

To be born, or at any rate bred, in a hand-bag, whether it had handles or not, seems to me to display a contempt for the ordinary decencies of family life that reminds one of the worst excesses of the French Revolution.

It's a step up, you should have seen what she was keeping the kid in a couple weeks ago...

At least it wasn't kept in a Babyquarium.

Back when I was a wee little raisin, my mother had received some kind of baby duffel bag as a gift and wanted to put it to use. Of course, it was pretty much lined with plastic with some weak-ass meshing at the top, and apparently it was black and navy blue too. So my mom thought it was a good idea to put me, her then 1 month old, in this thing for a July stroll. About an hour after having left the apartment and walking around downtown Heidelberg, she stopped to check up on me and described it as "opening the tin foil of a fresh out of the oven baked potato". Steam wafting out, I was all wrinkly and this full head of hair that I was born with and had already grown into a nice little bit of curls had completely fallen out in a weird, wet tangled mess at the bottom of the bag. Mom tossed the thing in a nearby dumpster and carried me for the rest of the day.

She sometimes makes jokes about how I was just her baby accessory that day.

Coming on a Bicycle: They would have babies sleep in drawers. Just sayin'.

I did that for a while as a baby. Small apartment, bassinet in a dresser drawer instead of a crib.

Having lived on that little slice of hell of an island, the only thing that surprises me about this story is they pulled over a local at a routine traffic stop. They mostly pulled over white tourists and ex-pats.

Also the prenatal clinic is in the food court at the black mall, conveniently located by chester's chicken and the WIC office. Yet, with all these amenities, many women there do not get any prenatal care.

The motorist then allegedly unzipped a purse sitting on the seat next to her and revealed a tiny newborn.

What if she had revealed a gigantic newborn?

They should leave her alone criminally. Backwards third world US protectorate with no prenatal care, how was she to know what you're supposed to carry a baby in?
