State Attorney Norm Wolfinger released a statement on Monday saying he is "outraged by the outright lies" contained in a letter written by the attorney of Trayvon Martin's parents, who are seeking a federal review in the case.

This has nothing to do with the case, but Wolfinger is an AWESOME name.

"Ladies and gentlemen... it's time for the band that will rock your motherfarking face off... give it up for the hardest rocking group this side of the River Sytx..... WOLFINGER!!" \m/

Self defense is an affirmative defense, Zimmerman should have been arrested and tried at which point he could have used self defense as a mitigating circumstance. This may or may not have been a justifiable homicide, but it certainly deserves to see the inside of a courtroom. Please close this thread.

This is ridiculous. We should have a law against the media reporting crimes. And state employees should have editorial control over the content media outlets broadcast. The media is getting everyone worked into a frenzy and that's not for the best. If they media knew what was best for the American citizens, well, they'd have gone into government, wouldn't they?

Oh. Look who thinks he is so smart. And yet you failed to explain the skittle splatter pattern which is consistent with Zimmerman's account. You also failed to explain adequately why no one has done an ultrrasound on the victim to see if he was pregnant at the time.

If the prosecutor didn't drop the farking ball on this in the first place, we wouldn't be dealing with all this nonsense.
If the republicans, conservatives, gun owners and the assorted bed-wetting brigade of the right didn't decide to rally around Zimmerman, then we wouldn't be dealing with all this nonsense.

The NRA, where Cop Killers are victims and unarmed black men had it coming.

If they'd handled the case correctly in the first place, we could have avoided a lot of this drama. I'm sure everyone knew it was a hot potato right from the start--how about following the law and doing what you're supposed to do.

Yawn. why do we bother to have a legal system?'it seems that GAT here is the only form of court system we need. see he has the unique ability to proclaim a mans guilt based only upon evidence from the media. yep, no need for a trial with witnesses and all the evidence, nope. GAT has made the conclusion he is guilty, he has spoken.

/just wondering if he gets upset when people convict minorities without a trail?

Ok, I'll start. I was wrong. When I first heard of this, I thought it was clearly a case of self defense based on Zimmerman's version. Then parts of his story started falling apart.

Now I think the incident should be investigated thoroughly. I don't know what happened, but I hope that they get to the truth, and that justice is done.

There, Happy? Can we move on now?

There seem to be three schools of thought. One holds that Zimmerman is obviously guilty, and it's time to start sharpening the needle. The second holds that he is obviously innocent of any wrongdoing, and should not be inconvenienced by any onerous legal formalities.
And the rest of us want to see the truth come out in court, and justice done, whatever it is. And boring though it may be, that's the view I'm forced to adopt.

It would be if the cops had picked him up and he'd said "self-defense" and they'd let him go - but that doesn't happen to black folks or "muslims".

Depends on the definition of "met". It likely would have been a teleconference between Norm Wolfinger at his office and Sanford Chief of Police Bill Lee with a Zimmerman family member at Lee's office. Here's a helpful hint if Mr. Wolfinger and Mr. Lee do it again:

Teleconference meetings have their own particular challenges that differ from in-person meetings. Once you know what they are and prepare for them, you should be able to conduct a successful teleconference meeting.

Get ready for plenty more.

It doesn't really have much to do with Zimmerman or Martin, it's more about the emotional issues of the people following the case. Any time you have people deciding that they are on a first name basis with someone they have never met it's a good bet that it has turned into a soap opera. "Lacy", "Caylee", "Travon", it's all the same thing.

Most people are going to be pissed off no matter what the outcome because so many people have decided that they want it to be about racism or gun rights or whatever else.

2012-04-03 10:33:45 AM
Wolfinger said he was "outraged by the outright lies contained in the letter..." and he, "encourages the Justice Department to investigate and document that no such meeting or communication occurred."

That's a bit odd, demanding an investigation and telling them what result you want.

Not to mention, there is no question that some kind of meeting occurred. The cops did bring him in, and the DA's office did decide that they weren't going to prosecute and he should be released. They had to have talked at some point.

People have to stop wasting time on this. There's only 7 days left until the new/but far from improved black panther dictated "day of action." Or the burn and loot because that's what we do when we're angry rally, whatever it's called. People need to put those hoodie's back in the car jacking/home invasion/rape kits and break out the riot costumes. Voice your outrage and maybe get some free (actually its stolen) stuff in the process.
