It's hard enough to find a Republican that supports immigrants, I guess in Massachussetts they'll at least support white immigrants.

FTFA: "The Irish economy crashed in 2008. People have come and overstayed visas. The Irish-American vote here is substantial," said Hugh Meehan, an Irish-American businessman in Boston. "This would be welcome relief and a recognition of the strong ties between Massachusetts and Ireland."

Scott Brown supports bailing out foreign countries but not his own country. He's a traitor and should be burned at the stake.

"Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, introduced legislation in the House in November that would eliminate per-country caps for employment-based immigration applications from countries with large backlogs like China and India. It would also grant visa waivers to undocumented Irish immigrants, a move widely unpopular with Republicans."

The exact opposite of what should be done until the economy recovers in the US, down to the last long-term unemployed person finding desirable FTE work. Kill that bill in committee and replace it with one that repeals every guest worker program.

Common - every irish bar in America can now have actual Irish bar tenders! How can you not love that?

CSB:
I used to work at a bank with a bunch of guys from Northern Ireland back in 2001. From what they told me, at the time, if you were from Northern Ireland you were pretty much born with a green card due to the Irish lobby in the US.

What argument is there for allowing amnesty for undocumented Irish immigrants that doesn't apply to undocumented Mexicans?

Difficulty: You're not allowed to say that it's because "Irish people are white" in public if you're running for re-election.

Can I say that in private in a fark thread? No? Ok, can I say that its because there are fewer undocumented Irish immigrants in the US than Mexican? Cause that's part of the reason, too. But mostly, it's because its Massachusetts and 3/4 of the state has Irish ancestry already so they don't mind more Irish coming in.

Here are some options I thought of.

Irish people drink home-grown, patriotic, American beer; Mexican people drink dirty, anarchist, Mexican tequila.

Irish people are honest, God-fearing folk; Mexican people are greasier than a Domino's Pizza.

Irish people are lucky; Mexican people are lucky if they know how to tie their loafers.

The Oirish are a pox on humanity.

This is actually a big issue in the area. I do like drinking with the Irish, but they are generally lazy and stupid. Yes, they are better educated than most Americans, but common sense? They don't have much. I think that gene fled the island a long, LONG time ago.

They come to town to work every summer. Almost all of them are college students on "Holiday." Many of the Micks take pride in finding them jobs and places to stay when the reality is most of them come from middle to upper middle class homes. They are leeches and I really don't want them here with our own unemployment rate as high as it is.

Yet, they'll be here in a few weeks. Meh, at least they are fun to drink with.
