another 93 yr old off the road? good.

my ancient mother, blind as a bat and too stubborn for new glasses, recently went to NJDMV to try and pass her license test. she has been a danger on the road for too long, and like many of her ilk does not care who she puts in danger.

some helpful a-hole at NJDMV thought a group of grey-hairs shouldn't have to stand on a long line. so they took all the one foot in the grave candidates aside and passed them without testing. so they could get out of there in a reasonable time.

Saturday before last Mom blacked out, ran her car up on someones yard, had to be hospitalized for seizures. NJDMV workers pissed off at cut-backs are going to be responsible for lots of unsafe motoring in NJ, watch and see.

Thanks, Governor Lardass.

pdieten:You'd think so but that's a high trim model - it has the 289 V8, 3-speed auto and air conditioning.

I believe that her car has the 260 V8...

I met her about 14 years ago when I was working in Orlando... I was working at her daughter's home, across the street from her's and she asked if I liked cars, to which I replied "Yes".

We walked across the street, she went inside and opened the garage... I was then treated to an hour discussion of the car's history... Among the many stories, a few I remember were how she told the manager at a local chain auto shop his tech was too stupid to work on her car since he said it had a bad alternator (it has a generator), and at the time the only non-stock addition to the car was the cruise control, because she got pulled over doing 90mph on the way to a car show up North...

There were two filing cabinets with EVERY single receipt showing everything that was done to the car... Occasionally I would see her driving around town with the tag in the window proclaiming "xxx, xxx miles. Just bragging!"

Glad I got to meet her and was excited to hear she is still alive....
