Looks very stupid. Who is the target audience for this? Is the talking teddy bear buddy movie audience the same audience that didn't go see the talking alien buddy movie "Paul".

It's by Seth MacFarlane, so the target audience is 14 year olds and adults with sub-90 IQs.

SlothB77: this movie is a very elaborate april fool's joke, right?

that is what I asked last night when I saw the first trailer of this "movie".

2012-04-02 05:00:25 PM
Isn't this pretty much the same plot as The Muppets?

That was first thought. Especially since the website is TedIsReal.com

It's always funnier when the f-bomb is being thrown out every 3 or 4 seconds.

I look forward to the "F**k you Thunder" song being appropriated in the Playoffs.

People with "Which Family Guy character are you?" quiz results featured in their profile? I'm apparently looking at you, Stewie :)

So "Ted' is like "Brian" on Family Guy or the fish on American Dad or the bear neighbour on The Cleveland Show.

And the jokes in the trailer start amusing but go on annoyingly long so one imagines that the actual theatrical length of those jokes is even longer.

Nothing formulaic about Seth McFarlane's stuff. Nope. Nothin'.

(and now..... Mr Conway Twitty!)

Why does the bear have the exact same voice as Peter Griffith???

Not gonna lie, kinds ruins the movie for me.

Actually, it is more of a combination of Peter and Brian

As long as the bear isn't a total retard like Peter, this might be tolerable.

It will do very well. Seth's name is gold.

2012-04-02 09:38:43 PM
So this is what happens when Wilfred does the first ten minutes of The Muppets.

2012-04-02 09:39:34 PM
Not gonna lie, I looove American Dad. I also like the unapologetic vulgarity so I'll probably see this.

As is urine.

I want to see this as long as they don't acknowledge that it's a talking bear and never explain why he talks. I think it'll work that way but will just be dumb if they ... Okay. It may be dumb either way.

2012-04-02 11:19:06 PM
Unless Kunis flashes her boobs I will not see this in the theater. It will be on cable in three months any way.

Strange, seeing as how you don't even know the character's name.

I saw it last month as part of focus group. it was C+ IMO. but some surprising parts that is very hilarious.
plot: imagine Brian the dog from family guy as a teddy bear, Stewie grew up as a normal human being.

/not family guy fan
//not american dad fan

2012-04-03 01:04:03 AM
Did you see the part where Ted grabbed that red-bloused chick's titties?

FedExPope: Peter Griffith

Oh, sorry. Peter "Griffin".

Nitpick much?

Yup, I was tolerant up until I saw 'From the creator of Family Guy'. He seems like a genuinely intelligent person who is living by the premise 'No one ever went out of business by underestimating the public's intelligence'.

AeAe: Not gonna lie, I looove American Dad. I also like the unapologetic vulgarity so I'll probably see this.

American Dad has been far superior to Family Guy ever since its second season. It's consistently bizarre and funny, whereas Family Guy is just going through the motions.

I know everyone is slamming this but I think this looks pretty funny.

I laughed out loud as he rolled off dozens of white trash girls names. That was great

2012-04-03 11:04:18 AM
My little brother would think this is hilarious. He stopped maturing at about fifteen.

2012-04-03 11:51:23 AM
I was waiting for the funny, and then decided that it would be a better movie if it was the serious romance that it started out imitating in the trailer.

The only time I've laughed at anything Seth MacFarlane has done, was the Roast of Charlie Sheen.

2012-04-03 01:12:53 PM
This looks like its gotta few laughs but strong enough for a summer release? I think it might do better outside the summer blockbuster season.

really? i'd have said american dad is more or less going through the motions(with occasional rising above the mediocrity) wheras family guy is the same tired schtick that was old in the third season, interspersed with seth mcfarlane getting hellaciously preachy and all activist via his show.

2012-04-03 03:19:27 PM
He has a huge fan base of idiots, but they're cheap idiots. Would anyone bother to go see it in a theater? Or will it just be pirated by stoners?

That being said, I did like the name guessing gag but I doubt I would want to sit through the whole movie.

And yes, everything McFarlene voices sounds like him doing it. No range. I doubt he cares.

2012-04-03 03:47:03 PM
I hated it right up until the white trash girl's names bit. That made me chuckle.

2012-04-03 05:27:40 PM

ichiban: No range.

You don't think there is any range between Brian, Stewie, Roger and Tim the Bear? I don't know about you but those voices sound different to me.
