It's not news, it's The Mirror.

It's sure getting dusty dusty in here.

Then 10 years ago, she saw a clairvoyant who said to her: "There are two of you - twins, you will find her." The clairvoyant claimed her sister lived by a church that was falling down. But despite Jennifer's best efforts, she had no luck finding her sister.

I would say "and then it got stupid", but it was pretty stupid by this point.

They have a friend who knew them both and didn't say anything!?!?!

skeptical cat is skeptical.

you mean they were living round the corner from each other for 55 years, and they never ran into each other ONCE while out walking or whatever?
or even from a distance, "hey that chick kind of looks like me. no wait. not kind of. very much so!" etc. etc. omgbbq

The study of 'if they lived together, neither of them would get fat b/c they would keep each other in check' vs nature. Solved.

They lived three miles apart, so it must have been a really big corner.

I saw the programme the article mentions.

Yeah, kinda sappy. Obviously, their twins telepathy didn't work despite the similarity of things they did.

Isn't this a repeat from about a year or two ago?

Cities are big. I live in Tokyo and frequently see who look like other people.

Walking through the park where she used to play, Jennifer Wilson was a bag of nerves.

huh, so do they not use that term this way across the pond? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=old%20bag

GungFu: Obviously, their twins telepathy didn't work despite the similarity of things they did.

My twin telepathy doesn't do anything cool. All it does is whenever my brother tells me he's having back pain or something, it makes my back hurt too.

Nowadays I tell him to keep his pain to himself.

I once bumped into a neighbour from Toronto while camping way in the interior of Killarney Provincial Park. That was pretty freaky.

No kidding. "Toronto". If you're going to make a city name up, at least pick a believable one.

I find this hard to believe. I live in a relatively big town and I can't help but to run into the same freaking people all the time at different places. I mean, you would think someone would run into and recognize someone that looks JUST like them at least I dunno, five times in fifty-five years when you live 3 miles from each other.

It's not "toronto". It's "Tarrana". If you wanna sound like a native.

It's always the same story, it just takes a while to work its way through the world media. Sorta like how that Bill gates email from 12 years ago resurfaces from time to time.

On a positive note, I guess that's better than conjoined twins separated by adoption.

It's nice that Elton John found his sister.

They even had the same dentist and doctor.

I know they're not supposed to say anything, but... wow. Never accidentally called one of them by the other's name?

Life took them in different directions and they really don't look much alike. I suppose that probably made it more difficult for a chance encounter + recognition.

This story is boring. I will look out for the followup where they have sex because thats what seprated siblings always do.

Identical twins are boring. More interesting is bidentical twins, in which only one twin looks like the other one.

I once ran into someone who owns two of the 12 condo units in my building on a flight from JFK to MSP (Minneapolis/St. Paul). He and his wife were actually right across the aisle from where I was sitting.

/lives in Albert Lea, Minnesota
