I wonder how the leadership structure works in that organization. If enough black people joined, could they vote the white people out? Leveraged buyout?

You're assuming he has a grade school diploma.

FTFA: Reached in Harrison, Ark., KKK national director Thomas Arthur Robb said he couldn't confirm that the solicitations came from his organization, but he said members frequently take the initiative to recruit new members. Asked about the girl who found the flyers, Robb said, "If a black person got it, it's just an accident . . . We're not trying to recruit blacks."

Mighty white of 'em!

A white supremacist group in my area left flyers in peoples' driveways and yards, encouraging them to attend an upcoming meeting. The flyers also contained a lot of racist, hate filled messages against non-white people. Most of the people who got the flyers weren't white.

So many of the flyer recipients were upset with the hateful messages on the flyers that they complained to the police. They in turn contacted the white supremacist group and told them that they'd be arrested for trespassing if they got caught passing out the flyers again.

My guess is it wasn't so much a recruitment effort as an intimidation tactic. It says "we're here in your neighborhood, we know where you live."

I think they'd probably be okay, so long as they weren't wearing their hoodies.

That's stupid. It's like the GOP sending out a mailing to people with a vagina, skin pigment or a soul.

Well, they can't really get away with that these days. The klan doesn't have the same respect from white protestants and fear from blacks that it used to, but apparently somebody is trying to rebuild. They can't just start off with cross burnings. They have to start slow, intimidate, recruit, grow a bit and infiltrate local law enforcement before they can start running around doing cross-burnings all willy nilly.

It would have been funnier if they went to the meeting they'd been invited to.

Note to KKK: Not all black people have names that sound black. While "LaToya" is probably a black name "Janice" may belong to a black. Also while some crackers have names like "LeRoy" they would resent the hell out of you for thinking that to be black.

They seem like a nice bunch, and with such happy colours on too. I have met a few recruiters in my days. For some reason, they shy away. I'm unsure why.

Those are pretty snazzy looking satin robes, there. I wonder who designs them for them, and if they know he's gay.

Since when do mailing lists come with pronunciation guides?

And since when do non-Cajun's in the South use the French pronunciation?

Face it, being in the KKK is a prima-facie indicator of dumb.

Do you hate people who aren't white?

Do you want to be the member of a terrorist organization?

Do you want to be thought of as a worthless joke?

Then join the KKK!

Part I'm guessing you missed bolded. Bathia's sheriff was being merciful in not filing charges against that particular chapter and warning them not to do it again.

Actually, probably not. There are about 100 Klans in the country, and they are all aggressively trying to grow because they tend to be very competitive with each other. They honestly spend more time recruiting than hating at this point.

Klan members are much more dangerous when out on their own than when doing Klan business. They don't have someone reminding them about the lawsuits and jail time when they get some whiskey in them and head out for a night on the town.

They probably have a member in the area who sincerely thinks a lot of the community agree and wants to head up his own Klavern so he can feel important.
