one of those: Gunny Highway: FinFangFark: We'll read today and the next few days about some on the fly changes for last night's show, probably the most prevalent one will be that Cena was going to originally win. I wonder, if Brock/Cena will main event WM29, what does that do for Cena who will become the main event jobber for three years straight?

I really dont get why they are announcing the main event for WM two years in a row. Wouldnt Brock coming out at the Rumble and farking over Cena in some capacity do more for a story than a drawn out build up? Especially with Rock winning this year.

I think this is a much better idea, although they have to do something with Brock now, cause he's already signed the contract. Can't have him just sit around for 9 months.

Because folks...Vince hates that he's in wrestling. He wants to be an entertainment show. Why make it wrestling related, when we can push for social acceptance, and be an entertainment show where the guys have to wrestle a little, right?

And the word is Brock's contract is very Undertaker related, little to no road time, no house shows, just appearing and occasionally wrestling every few years. Kinda what Sting should be doing.

Also, I think Sting reupped with TNA yet again. Something tells me he really doesn't like Vince, or else he would have faced UT the past two years at WM, which would have been a pretty big draw.

Fisty Bum: Announcing the main event for WM a year outside the event KILLS any potential story they may have during the year. This would have been an epic conclusion to Summer of Punk. But nooooooooooooooooooo.

/Fark you, Vince.

Vince has a long history of letting the biggest, easiest, money-making angles slip through his fingers.

Gunny Highway: I am thinking about switching to Comcas

Why? Do you hate yourself?

I hear this a bunch but I just don't see it. Maybe it is because my mom's house is in the sticks and we have HORRIBLE Time Warner service here, but I haven't had an issue with Comcast. I feel they have great customer service and not to sound racist (which always sounds racist when you say that according to comedians), the service center speaks as much English as South Carolinians or Georgians can manage.

The Rock won, so it was worth paying for the PPV.

Thumbs up to the guy in the crowd with the "If Cena Wins We Riot" sign. That was gold, buddy. GOLD!

NachoMama: de-lurking.
Read the threads often, never post (until now).

First WM I've watched in years. The 12 man tag was awful. Old-men-in-a-cell bugged me a bit with the dragged out Trips shouting for Shawn to end it. Could have done without that.
Punk-Jericho was the best for me.

I seriously don't get all the love this show is getting. The only matches that were worth a damn were HHH/Taker and Punk/Jericho, it was filled with lame "comedy" bullshiat, and the world heavyweight title match was 18 seconds long. Seriously, what is with you people ranking it so highly?

I honestly think the $2 DGUSA show I watched on Friday was more entertaining than this.

I am kicking myself for not going to DGUSA when they were in town. Well, not kicking myself since the money went to Chikara but still.

I have no clue why anyone thinks this was a good WrestleMania. I don't even agree with you that the Taker match was good. MAYBE the last ten minutes of that match? The Rock was gassed and that surprised me.

Well Time Warner was also paying him well to sit at home, much like Goldberg. Why have the contract bought out, to some to WWE for a small angle anyway? He's right on being buried. I have a feeling Vince doesn't really like him, so I could see him jobbing to Edge on a Smackdown once the invasion angle would have ended.

Thought a couple years later, when Vince did that stupid "Shawn and God tag team" bit, it would have been awesome if Sting had come out as a surprise ally to Shawn in their holy war with the genetic jackhammer.

I think we can just chalk it up to Sting realizing that as big of a star as he may have been in WCW and now TNA, he has just never been good enough to be a real WWE top draw. It's kind of like Fedor Emalienenko never fighting in the UFC. You can claim best in the world all you want, but if you're not putting yourself in the mix with the recognized best in the world, you're just blowing smoke. (I do realize pro wrasslin' and MMA are two different animals, but all the same... you're not the best unless you're in with the best.)

Sting thinking he would've been buried is such a cop-out, and anything he's ever said about not joinging WWE because of the sleaze-factor are negated when he a.) worked under Eric Bischoff for several years and b.) worked under Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo. Vince wouldn't have buried Sting. McMahon knows better than to bury a guy who could be a top draw. I can guarantee Sting would've laid down for Taker at Wrestlemania, but you can't say he wouldn't be in good company, since everybody who has faced Taker at WM has done the same. Pretty sure Vince would've given him a fair shake just like he did with Chris Jericho, Eddie Guererro and even Chris Benoit. Hell, he even let Goldberg continue his BS winning streak in WWE. We all know that would'nt have happened if Lesnar had decided to stick around, but yet and still...

WRESTLEMANIA POINTS COMPETITION (stolen from the brilliant bastard who did the RR)
1 point Piss break match: Team Tripping Balls vs. Glamzon/Eve - Kelly Kelly and Maria Menourous
2 point Poop break match: Randy Orton vs. Kane - Kane
3 point Embarrassment match: Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show - Big Show. By taking the belt from Cody, he will have held every WWE/WWF/WCW title.
4 point TWITTER RELATED question: Over or Under 10.5 video promos/backstage moments - Over. You have 8 matches. You have the build up videos and interview segments.
5 point YES YES YES match: Daniel Bryan vs. Great White - Sheamus
6 point Hold on a Minute player match: Team Teddy vs. The Ace Team - Team Ace, no matter how much we hate his style. Heel GMs make better programming.
7 point I'm going to text you the answer question: Name 1 survivor if they make it elimination, or name the person who gets the win (i.e. pinfall/submission) - Ziggler
8 point WRESTLEMANIA MOMENT question: What will be the highlight/big shock of the night? - Taker getting over HHH
9 point Tro-lo-lo match: CM Punk vs. Jericho - Jericho. This feud will run for a couple of PPV's, with Punk getting the belt back in June.
10 point Booked a Year Out Match: Rock vs. Cena - Rock. Cena will immediately demand a rematch at WM29.
100 point END OF OUR FUN ERA Match: Undertaker vs. HHH (because if you get this wrong, you don't deserve to win) - Taker

Possible: 155
My score: 139

Konnan on Yoko

"Yoko was gangster," said Konnan. "I went to LA with him once and he was like the godfather of South Central. He was telling me stories about him sneaking drugs through airport security. He was well connected. He was a gangster. I looked up to him a lot. He loved my character in the nWo and we were actually going to get him to come in as a Samoan gangster and have my back.

"One time Scott [Hall] was with Bischoff and he [said to Yokozuna] man Bischoff is right here. Let's make this happen. Yoko said, 'I don't roll like that. You don't just put someone on the phone and tell me to sign.' He got offended and he never came in."

Im sure his family is thrilled about this.

I agree and disagree. Sting doesn't have to be a weekly draw. He just needs to needs to stare down from the rafters at Taker or HBK and Vince has my money. I am sure he would have all of our money. I am sure Vince would have every. single. fan. of. wrestling's money. It would not be a wrestling match, I am aware of that. It would be a spectacle that as a fan I would like to see.

There is a shiat ton of money to be had with Sting in the WWF and I think Vince knows that. I don't think he hates Sting at all.

Ya know, cuz our upgrade has people annoying me I feel like doing my rundown of WM matches:

Not even gonna reference anything just try to do the card from memory. If i miss something or screw up the order... it shows how well the show did on the Smiths-o-Meter

1) DBD vs Seamus - should not have curtain-jerked for this type of match. Should not have done it in the first place. felt bad for those guys who paid top dollar for front row to cheer on DBD and made all those signs just to see what they saw. Any other time, this would be fine. But it was up there with Chavo vs Kane ECW championship.
CRAP: 5 turds

2) Something with King Crab and Discovery channel because seriously why? Crap waste of time
CRAP: 5 turds

3) Orton vs Kane - Did not see Kane winning, but didn't really care anyway. Orton bores the hell out of me and I still feel if he wasn't a HHH buddy he'd be long since fired for being batshiat insane.
CRAP: 4 turds

4) Girls wrestling - Chelsea Handler showed how smart she is by not taking the bait and being involved with anorexic greek and anorexic barbie vs What should have been team Snu Snu but we decided Eve makes the perfect target for male hatred HA HA HA natalya farts!
Oh and a surprise roll-up victory in a Women's match? Go watch Trish vs Lita at Wrestlemania for how it should be done. That match was amazing. This had no point except to try and get a network to show footage of Wrestlemania. It's a business, after all
CRAP: 5 turds

5) IC Title - "Cody has a belt still? Why didn't anyone tell me? I'M VINCE MCMAHON DAMMIT!" They hyped it up so Show had to win, but there shoulda been more shiat Cody did to "cost himself the match". Like maybe just mocking Big Show with "WRESTLEMANIA BABY, WOOOO!" during the entire matcht point Show just punched the crap out of him as Cody's mouth was open. this was just a "I kicked you with my move once.. now I try again oops one too many i lose now"
CRAP: 4 Turds

6) UT/HHH/HBK - Totally agree the "end it shawn! END IT! YOU WANT TO END IT THEN END IT YOU CAN END IT DID I MENTION ENDING IT?" was stupid garbage that went on too long. We got that HHH's strategy was to force HBK to "admit" HHH can beat UT. But that part was annoying. But then it got psychologically awesome. I was jumping off the couch at random and Mrs. Smiths was cracking up at me. I really believed that HHH was winning. The visual of UT stepping on the hammer was amazing. No idea why that drew such a reaction from me but when he put the foot down on it I was marking out like a sad Farker who had to make a new account just to cement the fact he loves this homo ballet.
However, the ending with HHH doing the "suck it" was basically copy paste of HBK doing the throat slash mocking. Apparently the way to lose to taker is to make him feel pity on you, then mock him.
CRAP: Half a turd for beginning, JfSP's mom-in-law came in and scooped up the tiny poop with her good foot by the end

7) team whatever vs whatever. Ryder walking out with Eve was retarded. I don't even care about the ending with the "turn" or whatever. The fact they even had her walk out with him and no one else said anything made this just a dumb "showcase" for that. Paycheck match for a dozen people so that's kinda nice. Really thought Miz was going to end up being beaten by the sock because he dropped that negro guy months ago. Don't drop black people, guys, you'll be forced to be humbled. Besides that I really don't remember anything from this nor did I really care
CRAP: 4 Turds

8) Jericho/Punk: Look. Smarks. They ended up doing a good job but the fact they turned it into Punk's family opera made me lose all interest in this. I did like Jericho saying "your sister's a drug addict HIT ME" and I loved seeing the Lionsault again. But they screwed up Jericho and made him unbelievable as a threat when he lost the Royal Rumble. Trolled us all for a month, said one line finally about "World never being the same after royal rumble"... then lost the Royal Rumble. Go find my old posts when Jericho first came back about the "Jericho Cycle" they always go-to with him. He's doing it again. Don't need to watch this match again.
CRAP: 3 Turds

9) Funkafark: Yay a payday for him. He got winded just walking out. We were cracking up with how little it takes to make him out of breath. Black people have big butts. And old black ladies love to look like Will Smiths' "mother" in the credits to Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Vince loves to watch Nutty Professor and he probably paid money to see that new Eddie Murphy abortion.
CRAP: 3 Turds, was good for a laugh

10) Rock/Cena: Someone upthread said it best when he mentioned it was like watching two people who didn't want to jeopardize their movie careers or outside interests... so they had a 'safe' match. So in a match between a guy saying he lives and bleeds for this business who was calling out the other guy for 'doing nothing then going away to do a movie'.... they proved the guy who does minimal tasks then goes to do a movie really does do that. Even though that actor GI Joe's thing was promising the fans he was back and that he lives for the business too... he just don't live enough for it to actually risk hurting himself. Didn't expect Rock to win... no idea what they do with Cena now. Does he just challenge someone else to have THE ONCE IN A LIFETIME so he can lose? Good payday for both and sent fans home happy but at same time... Cena got punked. But this could be the breaking point now to actually do something with his character. Who knows. Interested in where they go but didn't really need to see the match.
CRAP: 2.5 Turds

So yeah... overall this was not a super duper WM. It was a great story by 3 veterans for nearly an hour... tons of filler. Worth what I paid for it and the source I used had awesome sound. Provided a good night of entertainment but doesn't need to be watched again.
And I got to basically insult every single person in this thread ... sometimes brutally... and I'm still here. Though if you look at my posting history the mods basically got their wish; all I've been posting in are these threads.

SO YOU HAPPY?

I agree with Smith's take on the show although I think there could be a few more turds thrown in for Cena v Rock and the Taker match.

Everything was spot on though and sums up my feelings nicely.

I think one of the reasons everyone like the Taker match is because deep down, we're all Taker marks. Hearing that "bong" makes me isntantly revert back to an 8 year old sitting in the stands, watching in awe as Taker came down the entrance ramp. I don't think any other wrestler can do that.

When I went to Mania 24? That was Michaels vs Flair, right? I left before the Undertaker match. I just didn't care. I flew me and two friends down there and watched most of the matches but didn't stay for Taker's. Apparently it was awesome but this is when I drank gin so I don't really remember much of that point of my life.

HeartBurnKid: OK, so my thoughts:

* Sheamus/Bryan cast a pall on the evening that meant I cared about pretty much nothing until HIAC. Thanks for that, Vinnie. You couldn't trim 10 farking minutes from the Blandy Boreton match or the backstage bullshiat to actually give us a match here? You cheated us out of this match last year, and you did it again this year; why do you hate us?
* Taker/HHH was pretty decent. Not a technically great match, but they told the story well, and the right thing happened in the end. Taker looks really old.
* Punk/Jericho was match of the night, definitely.
* Rock/Cena was... really, really boring. The ending was a surprise, though; I was shocked to see Rock go over, and cleanly at that, and I'd like to see where this leads for Cena (hopefully to a heel turn).

Well, if there is one thing Vince obsesses on, it's "records" being set at Wrestlemania. What he was going for with the Bryan/Sheamus match was a new "shortest match" - the previous record for the shortest WM match for the WHC was at WM25 - Mysterio over JBL in 21 seconds. However, the shortest match for any championship was WM 24: Kane over Chavo Guerrero for the ECW title in 8 seconds.

Now, this could make for a good 4-6 months of TV with Bryan versus Sheamus - if it was anyone besides Vince behind the scenes. Or, they want to flip Sheamus and Bryan - that match made a heel out of Sheamus and had the crowd chanting for Bryan all night. In 18.5 seconds from bell to bell.

As for HHH/Taker - the cherry on top for that match would be for both of them to appear tonight and declare a truce.

Punk/Jericho was a great match. Expect that one to run a couple of more months. Jericho is going back on the road with Fozzy from June until August.

I do not understand the ending of Rock/Cena, unless it was a vehicle to let Cena drop down and out of any title talk whatsoever for a year or so, and set the precedent for Cena to work against very select opponents.

We make jokes, but that arena is in awe when the gong hits. I the last two WMs in Houston, notably 25, and the arena erupted for Stone Cold, for HBK's entrance, was so into that match, but when that gong hit, the fans went wild, then just went silent, it was crazy.

ferro_man: So D Bry lost the title in 18 seconds... How long did Big Show hold the belt before D Bry cashed in his case?

Forty-five seconds. Big Show's WHC reign was nearly 3 times longer than the title defense fight.

I'd like to think that the 10 seconds from the ring of the bell that it took Bryan to kiss AJ was his little "fark you" to Vince over the match booking.

I go into WM as the champ. I scratch and claw and somehow manage to walk out the champ. Now I'm gonna lose it at a Monday morning house show. Goddammit.

Speaking of championships, which belt is the official gredunza belt again? I need to add one to my profile. :)

So now that I've had a night to process all this:

DB vs. Limes: 18 seconds? Your world title holder for months, MONTHS, goes down that quick? There is no point to this.

Orton vs Kane: Meh. Kane winning was a nice touch though.

Divas: Meh. Let me be clear, my penis was very happy to see Beth and Eve walk down, as they are the hottest Diva's in it's humble opinion.

Age in a Cage: Most entertaining match. Period. I marked out over and over again. I felt emotionally drained after this. Bravo to the 3 old farts.

Ace vs Teddy: Ace winning makes the most sense since a bad guy GM is almost always more interesting then a a good guy GM. Miz breaks his losing streak. You know they're not done with Eve/Ryder. Oh they SHOULD BE. We all know that won't happen.

Jericho vs.Punk: Best wrestling of the night. Constant reversals in the end were as fun to watch as Age in a Cage by the end. Predictable ending.

Rock Vs Cena: Kayfabe: *SOB*

Not-So-Kayfabe
: So where are they going with this? WE ALL KNOW CENA IS NOT GOING TO TURN HEEL. We all *want* him too. Just full fledge "slap a baby in the mouth while throwing down some rhymes" heel. *Not happening*.

So why, WHY make the cash cow of your company lose to a guy that will not be around for MONTHS again? I mean, the whole problem people have with Cena is he is around all the time, cookie cutter all the time and is really marketed twoards everyone who isn't a 25 year old male, right? Well VINCE DOES NOT THINK THIS WAY. VINCE SEES $ SIGNS. So Vince pushes him over and over again to where the money is coming from, Parents buying shiat for their kids.

WHY HAVE HIM LAY DOWN?! YOU'RE NOT TURNING HIM HEEL VINCE! WE ALL KNOW IT! YOU JUST MADE THE GUY YOU PUSH LOOK STUPID IN FRONT OF ALL THE KIDS YOU ARE SELLING HIM TOO. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR HEAD?! WHAT, DO YOU THINK HAMLET CENA SELLS TO KIDS?! KIDS DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT KIND OF shiat. THE MOST THEY KNOW ABOUT CONFLICT IS WHETEHR TO ASK FOR POP OR CHOCOLATE MILK OR WHICH PARENT TO CHOOSE DURING THE DIVORCE.

DID I JUST WATCH VICTORY ROAD OR WHAT?!?!?!

I KEEP WAITING FOR THIS DICKHEAD TO WALK OUT ON RAW TONIGHT:

www.onlineworldofwrestling.com

YELLING "IT WAS ME CENA! IT WAS ME THE WHOLE TIME!"

YOU CAN HAVE YOUR GUY LOSE IF YOU HAVE A PLAN. THE ONLY REASON TO MAKE YOUR CASH COW LOSE IS TO TURN HIM ULTRA HEEL. NOTHING ELSE MAKES MONEY. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DO THAT VINCE. YOU ARE A FOOL VINCE. YOU ARE A GOD DAMNNED FOOL.

The original Zack Ryder one is in my profile. Verbaltoxin made a very nice one as well. JfSP has the spinner belt, the use of which will cause immediate banishment from the Broski-pac.

So I lost power about halfway through the Punk/Jericho match last night...glad to see Punk won, though I couldn't care less about Rock/Cena. How did this thread get to nearly 4000 comments?

Grand_Moff_Joseph: silgryphon: As Daniel Bryan went to kiss his girlfriend AJ at WrestleMania XXVIII, he ignored the fact that the bell had already rung to start his World Heavyweight Championship Match against Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior immediately Brogue Kicked him for the victory. A.J. addressed the blunder via Twitter, writing, "I have a feeling I'm sleeping on the couch tonight..."

AJ you biatch. you cost DB the title

Wow, that's how DB lost? As sucky as that was for the fans, I have to admit, it does sound like a funny way to lose.

They did not want to pussy foot around taking the belt off him...He almost seemed like a wasted angle. Happy for the shameful lobsterhead and his minions of lime status checkers, fella.

Grand_Moff_Joseph: Just sent a Farkback to ask for a thread carry-over to tonight. We'll see what happens! :D

Farking Marks.

Do you need validation that bad that you can't be happy with over 4,000 posts, you have to beg to not have a new thread greenlit so you can overinflate the postcount of a specific thread to make it on some list that means nothing in the first place?

If I were greenlighting threads, after getting some stupid pointless farkback like that, I'd green three RAW threads tonight, just to make sure none of them even made it to 1,004 and I'd shut this one at 4015 just to teach you all a lesson.

Marks.

We really dont need any of that.

Hey now, fwiw, Farkbacks usually aren't answered for 24 hours, so I doubt this will happen. Even if it does though, carry over threads have happened before elsewhere, and if nothing else, this will be a nice swipe at the folks who like to treat our threads as second class. :)

And?

I've said before and I'll say again: IF you are a solid 7 or higher female then I refuse to discourage you for posting half naked pics of yourself on the internet. These actions should, in fact, be encouraged.
