They're not the only ones having weird warm weather. Last week or two we had three or four days of record breaking temps in RI/MA area. There was one day we hit 82. Broke the record from 1892.

Yesterday we had snow. Today we're supposed to have highs near 60. Never mind the winter that wasn't. We had MAYBE a total snowfall amount of 30 inches for the entire winter. There will likely be drought this summer because we didn't have a lot of precipitation, unless the rains start coming and soon.

And you'd think Nova Scotia, right next door, would get at least a little of that. Newfoundland just had another freaking snowstorm.

It's as if someone is purposefully trying to keep all the unusually hot weather in the US.

Yes, really outstanding spring weather, following a fairly mild winter.

A karmic payback for having to endure months of vomit-inducing robocalls from Mittens and the Rondroids?

Yes, kiddies, jet fuel is a chemical.
Sure is convienient that it is harmless since we vaporize and dump tons of it into the air we breath and heat our planet with every day.

while I will agree with the nice temps, it hasn't been dry recently, been a damp week up in the nw part of the state, which is good because we need the precipitation and the ground has thawed enough to actually hold it

Meanwhile the Gulf of Mexico is 2 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year, and with the jet stream so high up, no steering currents to keep hurricanes from entering the Gulf and intensifying rapidly.

I think you're conflating efficiency of an engine (it's thermal efficiency), and it's "efficiency" in the "miles per gallon" or "eco-friendly" sense of the world.

So if you're trolling, my only question is... an engineering troll? That's worse as bad math trolling.

What I am trolling is the inconvient truth that most of the crap you pour in a jet or turbine engine comes out the back unoxydized.

Don't you know? Once you change it to vapor form and release it, it ceases to exist. Just ask anyone about their car exhaust.

Waitaminit, I have it on good authority that the declining birthrate amongst white pedigreed males is a result of the abortifacients in chemtrails. The tumors are caused by high-frequency radio waves bounced off the ionosphere, subby.

snocone: Sure is convienient that it is harmless since we vaporize and dump tons of it into the air we breath and heat our planet with every day.

I would hazard a guess that the accidental emission of hydrocarbons given off by motorists every damn day just fueling their automobiles dwarfs the stratospheric emission of unburned jet fuel by an order of magnitude at least.

However, continue shiatting your pants if you like. It's all the same to me.

Really, you think that a the efficiency figure means that the fuel comes out unburnt?

You might want to read about what engine efficiency means. If this was actually happening the way you say then the airlines would be the first to do something about it because they are cost-control freaks.

What's really happening with 40% efficiency is that 40% of the available energy is converted to a useful form, wit 100% (ir near enough) combusted. If jet engines spewed out a kerosene aerosol then they'd explode in thunderstorms.

Unburned hydrocarbons and such at ground level is one thing.
Seeding your atmosphere to 60,000 feet all day, every day is a somewhat different issue.
Or so I would think.
