Time Traveling Bunnies: bottsicus: Time Traveling Bunnies: I propose a new trophy for next year. It is for Most Epic Douchebag of the Year (Someone better at creating names could help out here).

Honorary first nominees should go to Cooke, Pronger, and Carcillo.

The winner each year gets a nice trophy and a one-year suspension.

/Flyers fan

Don't forget Hartnell!

Well I didn't want to frontload the first year with Flyers. Truly, I could have named almost anyone from the team. It's an honor just to be nominated for the first Dale Hunter Trophy and after discussion with Hartsy, we decided Pronger had given more of a lifetime effort to be on the first ballot.

Heh. You're a good sport, I really just mentioned Hartnell to be a dick and see if I could get a rise out of you. I feel like Hartnell's one of those guys you only hate if he's on the other team. (Kind of like Brad Marchand, who, of course, I love since he plays for the Bruins)

Dale Hunter

It's got a nice ring to it. I'm not deep on hockey history. Does he truly embody the spirit of being the Asshole of the Year?

Dale Hunter permanently injured Pierre Turgeon after he attacked the latter during a goal celebration. Turgeon was never the same afterwards, pretty well destroyed his career.

So yes, Dale Hunter would truly embody the spirit of such a trophy.

Well it could be the Todd Bertuzzi award as well or..
The Marty McSorley award (shaped like a stick of coarse)

Farking Boston. You have the Caps in your own building playing like crap (2 shots in the first period??) and you still can't manage to beat them for us.

Thomas looked terrible in that shootout.

Just puts the pressure back on Buffalo to beat the Pens tonight to hold on to 8th.

Honestly I just felt bad for Hartnell at the beginning of the year. When he was separated from Leino and Briere he looked lost on the ice. He's since picked up his game without being his usually trolly self. Okay he still gets all thuggy sometimes.

I agree though. I'd hate him if he ever played elsewhere.

Doc Daneeka: Thomas looked terrible in that shootout.

He looked pretty pissed, but those 3 shots he let in were not exactly softies.

He flew off the ice and literally faceplanted about two steps down the tunnel. It was hilarious.

Blew locking up a playoff spot for my guys as well. I realize your case is more pressing, lol, but.

Speaking of Hartnell, anyone watch the slaughter last night against the Leafs? I was mostly watching the Washington/Boston game, but kept tuning in to the Leafs game out of some form of morbid curiosity.

Anyway, Phaneuf was running around trying to goad Hartnell into a fight and Hartnell just kept laughing him off. Then Phaneuf tries it with Brayden Shenn and finally Simmonds offers to go with Phaneuf and Phaneuf's tail goes straight between his legs and he refuses to fight.

I'm kind of "meh" on fighting, but I will say that if you spend the game going after guy after guy to dance (NTTAWWT) and someone finally takes you up on it, it looks particularly bad to not have the balls to go.

Yeah, but he does that no matter what. He's off the ice and into the tunnel before the ref has time to signal that the puck is in.

Not that losing in the shootout has happened too often to him this season. What is it? Only the second or third time?

Best part of that game was the fans cheering "Lets go Blue Jays"

And it's not as if it really matters anyway, no shootouts in playoff hockey. Oh the outrage on Fark if that were the case.

Due to a combination of craptastic economy and the faulty expectation that anyone who drops $30 000 on student loans to go to university, some aspects of the boomerang effect are spectacularly difficult to avoid.

Also, plenty of parents spend years telling their kids that they should go to university so they do not have to take a job flipping burgers, especially if they are emphatic about university (ie, not a trade school or a tech college, full on university or bust!). Anyone who does that loses the moral high ground needed to tell their kids to GTFO when their kid moves back home because they refuse to take a job flipping burgers to pay off their massive student loans. If your kid is acting like a precious little snowflake, its because you raised them that way.

That aside, I cannot think of many people who would be proud to admit that they live at home with their parents.

If you're around Fark hockey threads enough you tend to ignore various characters, Rev.K is one of them. Expect him to be especially unhappy this year because his Flames aren't getting into the playoffs this year.

Movie called "Goon" which just came out... Haven't seen it, though. I guessing they're going for a Slap Shot kind of thing.

Seeing as how this is today's hockey thread, I'm going to go ahead and say that even if the Avs miss the playoffs (which they almost certainly will) I'm going to chalk this season up as successful. The rebuilding looks like it's almost done, almost everyone is under 30, Lando and Rhino look awesome anf it looks like they have solved the goaltender troubles for the most part.

Johnson still has a ways to go, but Siemens, Barrie and Elliot are coming up. Sacco and Sherman are meh. Hope they open up the checkbook this offseason and pay the RFA's what they're worth, lord knows they have the cash.

And Stastny and Matty Du had crap years. Only one way to go from here.

Oh, and Cooke for the Masterson, wtf?

Hahahahaha. A Dallas fan was in the stands for the warm up in Vancouver and the Dallas goalie rings a puck around the glass and pegs him in the nose. Dallas goalie goes over and tosses him a towel and a fat cow thinks it's for her and grabs it away from him. Guy ended up getting the goalie's stick and stitches. All this before the game even starts.

God only knows what is going to happen in the Pacific. The Stars seem to have gone from third to 9th and then back to 7th in a few days. I think the safest thing to say is that the Flames and Avs have had it, who the hell knows for everyone else.
