I just saw a Sticky Buddy commercial on HRTV.

If it weren't an As Seen on TV item, I might consider it. Looking around the web, I found a spoof ad. It may offend some, so view at your own risk!

Type now at vy ft of pg 5, right under JLS1965's far better caption of pigeon overlook. Also welcome to fark & esp to Caturday to you!

Also Good Meowning, Good Folk!!!

Keep forgetting time difference, so Alien may just look as if she was up all, or much of, the 0dark30 hrs.
Noticed in paper this AM that a sophomore (just completing middle school) has achieved Eagle Scout rank. Seems to me that's young, but little accounting for over-achievers, chronic or otherwise. Plumbicon's dad was one, back in the long long ago day; was disappointed that neither of his sons made Eagle. They were both in marching band from jr high onward.
Onwd to pg 6 -- should even get to type & appear on Lucky Pg 7 today.

Going to break my earlier resolution & fetch in this recent pic, that I'm not able to PS as it could use/may deserve.
Did send to She Hoo, who may not have found it in her in-box yet, tho I sent it Out Yonder Thu about the time I came in first time this C'day. Did encroppinate a bit to rid it of some of the bordering concrete. Too many nested ctr tags indeed! Only did for pic itself, not for any of this above.

Around here, when a stray cat is caught and neutered, its ear is clipped as a sign to other stray-catchers to leave this one alone. The mark protects the cat from being caught again and possibly put in a shelter / euthanized. You should thank the neighbor, and leave his lungs alone.

Oh, that is really scarey, are the authorities aware of this? Sometimes people who do this to innocent animals will "graduate" to people, he needs to be watched, or go ahead and take his lungs.

I am sure his reasoning was that since Grayman was neutered, he should be clipped. He just took it upon himself to do it. Of course not while under anesthesia which is when it would normally be done when he was neutered. I don't know the story, it was before he moved in, but he did have a dog that was taken away.

surgery?????

Yep, a while back he had a mega hairball which completely blocked his intestine. He really scared the poop out us because it took a couple of days before they figured it out. It didn't show on xray but 'something' showed up with ultrasound. They couldn't tell what it was until they got in there. He bounced back quickly once he was cleared out.

ya gotta sleep sometime: akimbotoo: ya gotta sleep sometime: Made the decision to never let another one outside when I lost Galahad. Can't wait to get them home!

Good for you!

A few more Arthurian names to consider:

Alain - Fair, handsome, bright, clear lucid, a Fisher King

Cath Palug - Palug's cat, a monster cat

Evrain - King of castle Brandigant

Guy - sense, or anger, a knight ( I think it sounds best as "Sir Guy")

and on, and on...... here is the link to the lists of Arthurian names Link (new window)

Oooooh, I rather like Evrain and Sir Guy. I'll try those on for size tomorrow night when I see them.

For the silver one how about Viserys, Rhaegar, or Aegon from Game of Thrones? The Targaryens have silver-white hair.

akimbotoo: I have found that meat baby food (no onions) is usually a great place to start to tempt the appetite. Another one, is Fancy Feast Chicken and Liver. It is like crack to a lot of cats I have met. ... .

Thanks for this suggestion. I have an old sweetie boy with hyperthyroidism. I have to sneak his crushed pills into gravy type foods and he won't eat anything more than twice in a row. And heaven forbid it should be cold from the fridge! This adds a couple of new options to the line up of foods I can have on hand to try each night.

Good luck to the ailing kitty, DoomsDayAardvark! Thanks for looking for ways to make him get better.

josmonkeys: I decided (perhaps foolishly) to give the cats mani-pedis due to overgrown dew claws. Apparently Chessie has a tender paw from the nearly circular claws, as she gave me this:

side a:

side b:

I've treated it with triple antibiotic - after complete flushing, but with the way it's feeling now, I'm headed off to the clinic when it opens.

Most annoying part, there's still at least 2 claws unclipped, so we have to torture her again.

That brings back painful memories. A barn cat that could not tell the difference between my finger and a pickled sausage. Those bites that the teeth meet in the middle? Yeah, they hurt and the spurting blood that wouldn't stop for a very long time was not cool. Learned a valuable lesson. Don't let the barn cats lick your fingers clean after eating sausage.

I had a cat with hyperthyroid and I got her meds in chews rather than pills. Chloe was a dream kitty concerning taking meds. I could easily give her pills or liquid or even subcutaneous fluids with no complaints. I had her vet get the chews in a dosage so 1/4 chew contained 1 dose. I would stick the 1/4 chew to a kitty crunchy treat and she would actually sit up for her treats like a doggie.

That is great! Sneaker didn't like the chews (we tried them first) and he caught on to the pill pockets after 2 or 3 tries. He is the love of my life but quite frustrating at times!

You're lucky, our 20 year old kitty that needs hyperthyroid meds will not take the pills in any form, crushed in food, pill stuffers or whatever you call them, nothing, he just knows, we have to give it to him in a liquid form and squirt it into his mouth. I hate doing it, but he seems much healthier since we've been doing that regularly.

stirs, cat with tongue depictured by you has to be 1) female based on coloration, 2) Maine Coon. Such a pretty girl! One quite similar lets us live here with her, her sons & the rest of the otherwise-unrelated-to-her mob.
i40.tinypic.com
Piiki, shown here, isn't related to any of the other 9. She & Furrnandina aka Furry, the MC female, both let themselves in, Furry to bear 3 kittens in our garage on a long wkend we weren't home. She began the Great Feline Takeover here. 2 of her 3 (sons) are still here, someone wanted the dtr.

(and anyone else who might be on the wrong end of a carelessly-deployed claw)

I've found that cleaning the wound with H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) IMMEDIATELY AS POSSIBLE really cuts down on swelling, redness, welting, and incipient infection.
Seems to speed the healing a bit, too.

I get a textbook example of "Your body's immune system reacting to an unfriendly invasion", i.e., swelling around the wound, redness, itching...
a quick cleansing with peroxide not only doesn't hurt (though it bubbles really cool), but can save you some problems down the road.
