The tendency in these situations is to try to fill in the blanks and try to make this story make sense. People don't leave an Army post in a foreign country in the middle of the night and start shooting sleeping civilians for no reason. Teenage boys don't sexually assault their mom and shoot her over and over again and empty the gun. Yet, they do.
