Ruggerio, an influential member of Senate President M. Teresa Paiva Weed's leadership team who represents Senate District 4, was previously arrested in 1990 for allegedly stealing condoms from a CVS/pharmacy drugstore.

That's my favorite part.

I love my state, but our government is comprised of really, really, mindnumbingly stupid people. Not evil, just incredibly dumb. Hell, one guy just lost his pharmacist license for mixing morphine with medicine given to children.

Oh god, save us from these idiots. I'm not moving so I'll just stay here and watch the zoo parade.

It's such a cute state though, how can you be mad at it?

So this is payback for that GOP Wisconsin state senator that was forced by the unions to drink and get caught then get off with a not guilty verdict. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!1!

TFA reminds me of two Hawaii state legislators that were arrested for DUIs in 2007 and 2008. The first, Jon Riki Karamatsu, immediately made a public confession and apology and later resigned his leadership position in the State House. The second, Ron Menor, initially said he had a missing contact lens and a broken foot, until it came out that his kids said otherwise to the arresting cop. Guess which one lost their reelection campaign.

That farkwad was from my district, when he wasn't living with his "family values" not-wife in Madison.

IMHO, a DUI doesn't automatically disqualify somebody for political office. It is certainly a knock against their judgement and personal character, but nobody is perfect.
