I really don't have any funnier snark then what's in the Boobies.

I think this thread's done...

That sounds like a complete waste of money, but if Ford wants to pay for my gas I might think about it.

Hell yeah! I'm all for giving idiots bigger and faster toys so they can splatter themselves all over the highway.

Has Ford stopped using old ox cart suspensions in the Mustang yet?

Not that I didn't like my Mustang, but my Mustang was fairly inexpensive for what it was. At $40,000 and up for a decently equipped one, I can think of a lot better ways to spend my money on a car I have to live with every day than one that still has a suspension from the Victorian era...

FTA: starts at $149,995, the S/C will cost $154,995. Including the price of a base GT500, the completed Shelby 1000 should cost around $200,000.

Please tell me this is an eff-word typo. This is for a Ferrari, right?

True fact.......Carroll Shelby, along with Frank X. Tolbert and Wick Fowler, began the World Chili Cookoff in Terlingua, Texas.

Mmmm...chili.

meh, how about independent rear suspension?

2012-03-28 01:44:30 PM
Ehcks: That sounds like a complete waste of money, but if Ford wants to pay for my gas I might think about it.

If you can afford a car that's been extensively modified by Carol Shelby you don't worry about little things like the price of fuel.

2012-03-28 01:44:50 PM
Overpowered.

How can you possibly put all that power on the road without vaporizing your tires?

2012-03-28 01:46:04 PM
Doesn't seem very practical. Plus these new plastic Mustangs are chick cars. 80% of Mustang drivers around here are middle aged women, the rest are old baby boomer guys.

2012-03-28 01:46:04 PM
The answer to this depends on one thing:

Are they going to fix the suspension? That f*cker has a live axle in the rear. S'why I prefer Saleen to Shelby, they actually do stuff other than engine work.

2012-03-28 01:46:38 PM
$200K?

I can think of a lot more fun things to blow 200K on, vehicular-wise.

I was thinking the same thing about my '93 Sentra. Full tank of gas lasts me almost a month.

Never mind that you can get the same numbers for way less money in a Supra with a stock bottom end, and probably end up with something that handles better too.

950 hp is all well and good, but it's not exactly usable. Even a lightly modded GT with appropriate suspension tweaks and tires is still a pain in the ass to hookup in a straight line.

North Carolina would figure out a way to tax horsepower.

Never mind that you can get the same numbers for waaaaayyyyy less money if you just bolt a big motor to a go kart chassis.

It's almost like comparing apples and oranges is silly or something, huh?

vernonFL: Sorry about your penis.

So, I must have a small penis if I like fast cars? That doesn't make a bit of sense. If you don't like cars, that's fine. But saying that anyone who does must have a little dick...where do you come up with this shiat?

Linkster: You kids will grow up someday.

Not likely. People who enjoy engineering a car to go fast don't stop liking it just because they get old.

A buddy of mine worked for a video game company that was purchased by Microsoft... When all the stock option stuff settled out, he had suddenly become a millionaire. The first thing he bought with it was a Roush stage 5 Mustang. My thoughts as he did this was "Why would anyone buy a polished turd, when they could get a real car?".

Can I fit an Ampeg 8x10 in a Mustang? No. It's a useless vehicle to me, then. Maybe you could transplant the powertrain into a Transit Connect?

I did fit a Marshall 4x12 in the trunk of a Focus once, that was pretty impressive.

Allen. The end.: Mustang?

Well, I get the reference even if nobody else does...

Great news. Now if they'd could just learn to use suspension that wasn't taken from a shopping cart, we'd have a Ford that wasn't a complete deathtrap taking a bend at anything above 40mph.

2012-03-28 01:53:08 PM
Driving it in anything but open highway conditions would probably be extremely unpleasant...high HP cars aren't exactly known for their smooth handling.

Well shiat, I have never seen so many pretentious Debbie Downers in a single thread. Sure, a 1,000 hp Mustang is totally ridiculous and probably pointless, but that's also what makes it so insanely fun. The fact that we can even engineer something like this is farkin amazing and totally kickass. Is it really that hard for you guys to just enjoy something? You don't even have to pay for it or get behind the wheel.

/I know, welcome to Fark, etc
//Seriously, get over yourselves
