Chelsea managed to win without Lampard or Drogba in the side. I guess AVB was right about dropping those two...

After watching that Madrid replay I'm glad to see Kaka back in form, he looked great today, Jose can't leave him on the bench if he plays like that, I'd take a in form Kaka over almost anybody

Damn, I had Benfica as my darkhorses for this seasons tourny. They can still do it, but Chelsea you'd think will be faves to progress. Its a matter of time before Torres remembers where the goal is.....

Apart from tomorrows AC/Barca game, nothing really catches the imagination.

Thank you UEFA for fixing the draw!

/Arsenal fan.

Milan have problems tomorrow, missing your best center-back is not a plus when facing Barca, Sandro will fill in mightily with effort, but he isn't Silva anymore, what I wouldn't do for a Maldini in his prime!

In non-UCL news:

FA Cup:

Sunderland 0-2 Everton
Tottenham 3-1 Bolton (team shirts from this match are going to be auctioned off for charity, including the hospital where Muamba is recovering)

FA Cup semis:

Liverpool v Everton - Saturday, April 14 (because Liverpool isn't playing on the anniversary of Hillsborough ever)
Chelsea v Tottenham - Sunday, April 15

The final is guaranteed to be Merseyside v London

Barcelona's defense is still worse off with Abidal and Adriano being out. (Though Adriano wouldn't be able to handle Milan's attack anyway.) My guess is Pep will throw Puyol out as a LB and have Masch play CB.

HMM, interesting, if they throw Macherano at CB Zlatan and Robinho will have some fun, he can handle Robinho 1 on 1, but no way he can stop the Swede

Nice to see that the semi's will be 2 darbys. Also, very excited about the Tottenham v. Chelsea rubber match after their last two meetings ended in draws.

Yes, great FA semifinal matchups. Hopefully Everton puts up more of a fight then the recent league game against Liverpool.

Spurs should roll Chelsea, considering they don't have as much incentive to play for a draw.

LOL at "darbys"

It'll never happen, but if APOEL manage to take out Real from here, it will be the lolliest lol that ever did lol. And quite possibly be the final blow to the Spanish economy.

Yeah. It's derbies. And to me Spurs/Chelsea isn't a proper derby. Spurs/Arsenal and Chelsea/Fulham are proper derbies. Spurs/Chelsea is just 2 London teams

Which is why I won't be shocked if Milan takes this one. Thankfully Pique seems to have gotten his form back.

But I also just read that Abate is out of the match for Milan, so both defenses are weakened. The real trick for Milan will be finding someone who can mark a very in-form Messi.

I hope they don't.

Yeah considering how well they played Barcelona earlier in the Champions League, outside of Real and Munich, Milan is the only other team that could knock off the worlds best.

Chelsea winning 1-0 at home makes it really tough for Benfica, what with the away goals rule. It's going to be really uphill for them.

KaisertheCoyote: Trying to figure out if Alexis went down easy or if that should have been a PK.

Well, it was the contact before he got to the keeper that foiled the chance. He did actually trip over the GK's arm, but he could've just as easily hurdled it.

/Now THAT was chance flubbed!
//Just me, or is this match much more 'end-to-end' that most'd've thought?

2012-03-28 03:33:24 PM
I'm loving this match, fun as hell to watch but every time Barca set up about 30 yards out and start playing those ticky-tac passes I must admit I have to hold my breath, they're always only 1 pass away.

This thing should be 1-1 by now, some good chances both ways

If he had gone to the ground after the initial contact (before the keeper) he might have gotten the PK. Glad he didn't though.

Beautiful I took out my 2012 Euro ball before the match and played around in the yard a bit, almost missed the start so ran in to the TV and left it out, my dog ate it during the first half lol, not quite popped but boy is it a mess

Ok, can someone explain to me why Milan appear (sound?) to have an airport PA system installed in their stadium? *dong**DING*

that's fairly common really, usually dings during a substitution.

And boy would I have loved 1 goal today, but you can't complain about keeping a clean sheet against Barca, 90 minutes to go just one second of magic is all that's needed

First game that Messi has been held scoreless since Feb 11 (all competitions), first time Barca has been shut out in the Champions League since November 2009.

Great defensive performaNce by AC.I can see them nicking a goal on the road, but at the same time, I can't see this Barca side not scoring again. It'll be a cracking game either way.

Also, pretty sure Zlatan Ibrahimovich is Bosnian for 'moaning, lazy, bastard.'

Holy crap! Toronto actually scored a goal! And only gave one (1!) up... so far.

Well, if they manage it, they'll have gone through LA, so I think either version of your post will stand up.

/How do they have 4 goals against the MLS Cup champs in 2 CCL matches, and yet 1 in 2 MLS matches...?
//I'm assuming MLS teams take the CCL at least half as seriously as European teams take the UCL
