Ever notice that if you only show the first three letters of "nightly" in your right-wing doctored photo it spells NIG under the black President? Probably just a coincidence. Yep.

For Focus on the Family they should have picked a better image for that cover then one that implies a disturbing sexual context.

cryinoutloud: "What really motivates Barack Obama is an inherited rage--an often masked, but profound rage that comes from his African father; an anti-colonist rage against Western dominance, and most especially against the wealth and power of the very nation Barack Obama now leads."

You can't make this stuff up. THE ANGRY NEGRO IS COMING TO GET US.

Which would make tons of sense if, say , Obama hadn't met his father only twice in entire life, and as such Obama SR had virtually Zero influence on young Barack's life, as opposed to say his WWI vet granddad who virtually raised him. But why should they ever let facts get in the way of a good rant

Man, what drivel.
/totally using the hotlinks from buckler and Cats_Lie, due to laziness.

What I gathered from skimming the article, while holding my nose, is that we're all idiots because of the LIBERAL agenda that now runs our schools. Remember, you can never go wrong with conservatives if you run with something about how you're being persecuted by someone or some idea. Apparently conservatives are too brain-dead to think on their own, and have to be constantly indoctrinated with "good" ideas, or the liberal ideas will saturate their brains and pollute their essence.

I like how it seems to imply that Obama is the anchor of the network news. He's being forced right down our throats by the liberal media--they just let him do the "news." It's worse than Best Korea.

Bungles: It's also packed to the brim with a never-mentioned homoeroticism, and no-one ever has to have actual yucky sex with a women. In fact, the only woman in it is the Thatcher-like sexless pseudo-woman of Galadriel, who can be lusted after without any actual fear of it turning into something naked.

Erm, someone may already have corrected this, but Samwise returns home and marries Rose and has a passel of children. That bit, plus the "Scouring of the Shire" part, was cut from the movies so they wouldn't be even longer than they already were.

Bungles: Esc7: Tigger: The Lords of the Rings: The Return of the King "nicely capture America as it was and as it is

Written by a Brit, inspired by his life in Africa and study of Anglo-Saxon, and a warning about totalitarian evil. WTF has it got to do with America?

I'm going to be as serious as I can for a minute right now, even though that whole magazine is LULZ.

Conservatives have a hard on for LOTR because it's a story about "Good" kicking the SHIAT out of Evil.

This appeals to so many facets of their psychology over liberals psychology. Where do I begin?

The story alludes to their own power/victim fantasy, where their ideology is facing down ultimate evil (Obama/Soros/libslibslibs). They win (naturally) and do it by kicking the shiat out of the others. Authoritarian belief systems derive greater pleasure out of violent conflict resolution. Did I mention that all the heros are white and the enemies are dark skinned? That's just a serendipity. What really rubs them the right way is how the conflict is framed. The good guys are stalwart bastions of ancient civilizations. They are defending the status quo. And they're defending it against a perfect enemy, one that is BY DEFINITION wrong. There is no hesitation, no gray areas, Sauron and his ilk are pure evil for the reason of being pure evil and exterminating any of his lackeys is 100% good. This sort of un-nuanced thinking is perfect for an uncritical mind, and reinforces that the world is black and white.

It's also packed to the brim with a never-mentioned homoeroticism, and no-one ever has to have actual yucky sex with a women. In fact, the only woman in it is the Thatcher-like sexless pseudo-woman of Galadriel, who can be lusted after without any actual fear of it turning into something naked.

We do get a bill for freedom; it's called "taxes". And our liberties are guaranteed by the Constitution; soldiers do not die for freedom, they die to raise Halliburton's stock price.

No no no no no WRONG! Pah. What's clearly at stake her is that American students are DEE-YOO-EMM DUM because unlike China and India, which have math and science course loads heavy with the love of Indian and Chinese Jesus Christ, kids in America aren't learning intelligent design in science class like the Hindus. Duh.

Also gotta love the conservative cartoonist. X + Y = . Yeah, have fun solving for either of those variables.

Nah. It's the equivalent of the Mitchell and Webb "Women, sort yourselves out!" bit (can't link it from work).

"Chinese and Indian kids have to ruin their eyes with book learning and they are filled with consternation about how they will never catch up to the average American kid. Americans! Chew gum and listen to iPods because you're already brilliant!"

Well shiat. I hope your life got better. I just want to put you in my pocket and take you home with me. If I feel that way, someone else has probably already done it. :)

Why was there no magazine like this when I was a teen? :(

Actually, it looks like they pulled the issue. Go look at the directory^ it was in... nothing there. It's not a farking; it's a conspiracy. Anyone got a copy of the original magazine? It was much, much funnier (and sadder) than the article.

I'm not sure what they're trying to say with that one. I mean all the cuts to spending (including education) are coming from the Repub side of the fence.

I love the comparison of black unemployment under Obama and Reagan.

"Under Obama black employment rose from 12.6 percent in January 2009 to 16.0 percent today. This means that black unemployment increased by more than one-fourth since Obama took office."

Thank you for explaining that, even though I've been able to do the math since I was 8, because I wasn't home-schooled. Continuing...

"And the Reagan record? (a)fter the Reagan tax cuts gained traction, African-American unemployment fell from 19.5 percent in 1983 to 11.4 percent in 1989."

I'm sorry, can anyone remind me who was president in 1981 and 1982 when black employment was as high as 19.5%? That's almost one-fifth of black people.

It's all just so goddamned stupid...
