I'll admit to using hyperbole a bit, but I can only remember a few Who threads in the last few years since Smith became the Doctor where you haven't at least stopped in to say how much Smith and Moffat suck and how much the show sucks now and how Moffat is an uncreative hack and blah blah blah ad nauseum. You may not usually stick around to argue the point afterwards, but the posts are usually there.

I still take issue with the claim that I said either one of them suck. I have not said that. I have however, repeatedly said that Smith is a third-rate actor and have indeed said that Moffatt is an uncreative hack. I hold to both those claims. It is a far leap from that to the sort of thing you accuse me of, however. In fact, I would argue that what I do lands squarely in the category you defend as "just doing it rationally on a regular basis". I say my piece, and leave. I suggest that it is actually the responses to what I say which make it seem that my opinions are remarkable in any fashion whatsoever. Yes, I come in and call Smith a flat actor (an opinion) and Moffatt unoriginal. But where are the rational refutations? Where are the examples of Moffatt's original ideas? No, what happens is that people leap to his defense merely by attacking me personally, or by redirecting the argument in some other direction, or by misrepresenting what I say to make it seem more inflammatory than what I actually did say. The Weeping Angels are an idea which I have admitted from the outset has been the sole example of Moffatt's creativity. Yet given the whole of his work, I am finding it increasingly more difficult to believe that it was actually his idea in the first place. But again, these are simple rational observations, made without using inflammatory language or hyperbole, and left for others to ponder. I don't sit here engaging in flame wars, feeding trolls, or the like. I do monitor the responses and if there is ever a legitimate and credible refutation to what I say I respond to it.
