I dunno... if you can make money with pretty much zero musical ability, beat your girlfriend, and wind up with truckloads of chicks on twatter asking to be punched in the face by you, you're either doing something right, or pop fans are just that dumb.

cookiefleck: Isn't Rihanna the one that has that s&m song and says she likes getting off on pain?

Huge difference between kinky playtime and domestic violence. The former can be ended by speaking a safeword (to indicate that limits have been reached). The latter has nothing to do with consent or the victim getting off.

It's similar to the difference between aggressive sex and rape. The concept of "consent" is crucial.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. If you eat burgers, you support domestic violence.

I guess the difference is that when you eat a burger, you're eating beaten cow, and if you eat Rihanna...hmm. I'm sure there was a point there somewhere.

Its not a terribly funny joke. Family Guy or South Park could probably manage to do better.

If I had to try and improve it, it might read something more like "Like Chris Brown, sometimes you just can't help yourself."

Basically theirs needs to be shorter/less blunt.

I remember like 3 years ago I was pissed at Brown for being such a scumbag AND perpetuating stereotypes of black men, though when Rihanna stuck with him... I got a lot less worked up about it. It's hard to feel for her, considering that she's a huge talent (and this is from someone who hates the musical genres she works in) and fairly intelligent in interviews; she's capable of so much better (even now that they are done and limited to silly musical feuds).

She did?

Yes, she did. She has also recently collaborated with him on music, her reason being that he's the "hottest R&B singer" right now. Chris Brown is still on probation regarding the assault.

http://www.tri-cityherald.com/2012/03/15/1865865/rihanna-says-collab or ation-with.html

The first line on one of the songs they collaborated on, called "Birthday Cake" by Rihanna? Chris Brown says/raps/etc.: "Girl I wanna f*** you right now. Been a long time, I've been missing your body."

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20572186,00.html

I understand that at some point things get resolved. Maybe there's forgiveness. Though after reading the well-publicized assault details, I'm not sure why his being "the hottest R&B singer" justifies being associated with this particular person, who no less beat her to a bloody mess and threatened to kill her.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/file/lapd-details-rihanna-beating?page= 3

Yeah, she spends time with him, too. I don't understand why.

The Hollywood Gossip: December 2011
Chris Brown and Rihanna's Tweets this week got people talking, and MediaTakeOut (dot) com has apparently "been hearing reports for some time" that Rihanna and Brown are working on "RECONCILIATION" (their word, and unnecessary capitals).

The tweets that made it outside black gossip sites:

static.thehollywoodgossip.com

The rest, particularly the birthday wishes, are at the black gossip sites.

(I like the theory that Karrueche is a beard paid to 'date' Chris Brown when he's actually screwing Rihanna, because her main fanbase and the mainstream hate Chris Brown....... but the jabs Rih Rih/Fivehead/The Barbadian Alien/Curry Goat makes at Karrueche.. I like the theory, but Rih Rih, that's some petty shiat to do.)

Yeah, that part is just a play on the original version, Birthday Cake: Original .. it's only like 1:20 long. She says, 1:12 "oooo I wanna fk you right now" .. and the harmonizing kicks in --

and the song ends! I'm so mad. It's a stupid stripper anthem, and just when it gets interesting with the harmonizing, it cuts out! Since Rih Rih can't sing (can't dance, can't act, can't pretend to give fellatio on stage with any sensualness), I'm assuming that part was some very well done technical production, or the skills of some very good background singers.

But yeah, him saying it doesn't really mean anything, since she said it first and he's just echoing her. But she still didn't have to have *him* on the track doing it.

Just outside Athens.

Also, the burgers at this place are pretty damn good, ate there about three months ago. Don't remember that on the menu.

Agreed. Burgers were damn good. Alas, no alcohol when we went but they'd only just opened.

NobleHam: Also, they're like three years late on the joke. Couldn't they have found some more recent domestic violence to tweet about?

I think they were joking about it because she's already made it out to be a joke by acting like it never happened, and all of those posts were people after it was reported on a local "urban" station who has a lot of listeners. The restaurant wont suffer at all from their lost revenue since they have never been there.

2012-03-27 04:36:25 AM
The joke is stupid. The people who get all upset over the joke are even more stupid.

Why is there always a person or group of people who will take any little unimportant occurrence and try to turn it into "the most terrible thing ever!"

I live in Athens (which, for a small town, has a *LOT* of really good food), but I rarely hit Watkinsville for grub.

It's a fairly common menu item, but the description is a tasteless joke. Don't know if the burger should get the same description...

2012-03-27 03:58:37 PM
I am SO headed to Watkinsville just to have this burger.

People get too outraged over the stupidest things.

/They oughta check out Mulligans over in Marietta. The sign out front cracks me up any time i ride past.
