Lauro has said Schreffler also never told him the details of a meeting set up by police between Sandusky and the boy's mother, in which police were listening secretly from another room. Prosecutors say Sandusky admitted to the mother that he touched her son and said, "I wish I were dead."

"I remember my last conversation with [Schreffler] concerning him hiding in that room," Lauro said last year. "He didn't tell me details. All he said was, 'There's nothing to it - we're going to close our case.' And I said, 'That's fine, I'm going to close my case, too.' "

Nope. No cover up here...

Er... whu?

What wasn't made public until now was that two days before Gricar closed the case, a psychologist concluded Victim 6 was not sexually abused by Sandusky.

I'm confused. It sounds like the one stating abuse occurred was made public while the one that says no abuse occurred is the one that was "covered up". Or do they mean both were initially covered up and the pro-abuse report was made public by the grand jury while the anti-abuse report was not?

This whole thing is such a clusterfark, I could see him walking on this just because it's so convoluted.

From TFA: Schreffler, when reached by phone, declined comment. "My report speaks for itself," he said before hanging up.

It sure does, chump, and it says "COVERUP." And look, there's your name on the cover. Now we know why dear old beloved Joe reported to your "police department" and not a real one. You deserve to go to jail and to be sued into abject poverty.

Yeah, I think that it states that the DA or whatever wasn't told about the psych evaluations at all. Neither of them.

Sadly, this seems to be the state of high profile court cases nowadays. If they can turn it into enough of a circus and make it seem like there was the slightest amount of mishandling of the case, Sandusky will walk. This at least seems an open and shut case but it's early yet.

He's on house arrest. I could find easily a dozen ways to kill myself without even leaving my home if I really wanted to. Most of them would probably be really painful, but there's always "running the car in the garage" if you're a wimp.

well...the lower part around 90min from Philly is fine. Anything from Ohio to there is the 3rd ring of hell. If not for the never ending construction, you also worry about those damn big orange trucks training drivers and doing a quick lane switch. We won't even mention that the rest stops up there are beyond filthy

If anything it makes Joe Pa look even more disgusting. He said of the shower incident years later, "he should have done more"...but the fact is, he knew what Sandusky was years before the shower incident. The 1998 cover up came just months before Sandusky's "retirement". Yeah, he "retired" at a time he was thought of as the best D-Coordinator in College Football and had always been thought of as the guy who was going to take Joe Pa's place. All of a sudden he retires and never coaches college football again. Why? Because he made a deal with the University during the 1998 cover up. There is zero doubt about that in my mind.

OK, here's my theory: "Bad Touch" Jerry is out on bail because the people involved are hoping he does the job for them, with a gun, rope, whatever. That way, the case will die sooner (with him), and fewer of the authorities will fall collaterally.

Police, prosecutors, administrators... all of them have a vested interest in this thing going away, and it can't go away while the pedo is alive and not yet found guilty.

Paterno was going for the win record.

I don't know of many people in coaching positions who would stay in a job where you were assured that you had no chance at advancement for the next dozen years. It would have been odd if he did stick around.

The impression I got FTA is that both were covered up and that, while they may seem conflicting, they're saying similar things. One said "no abuse" and the other said "no abuse yet but all of the red flags are there and it's just a matter of time"

He was still pretty young. He just up and decided to never coach again out of the blue...Coincidence, most likely, that it happened right after the first cover up Penn St helped to make happen...That is, the first cover up that we know of.

Can you imagine the media fury if Obama had nominated him? It would be on constant stream on Fox News, the derpers would be calling for impeachment, Newt would be seen not denying that Obama was a child molester, Penn State derpers' heads would explode from the cognitive dissonance.

Oh and cats and dogs would be living together.

My impression is they played up both agreeing that "no abuse took place", and hid the rest of the Lauro's(?) report that basically said "yet, because all the signs are there it was going to happen"

If by "the authorities" you mean the police that kept the psych reports from the DA, then yes...they did. Those authorities that are bought and paid for by Penn State University since they are the Penn State University Police, basically.

The criminal enabler scumbag Pedo State "justice" system is protecting one of their own. Worse than the Catholic Church.

The NCAA should death penalty Penn State football, vacate any championship coached by the pedo, and bar them from TV for five years. Send a got-damn message. Pedo enabler criminals out of football forever.

Should, but won't.
