I dont watch the news anyway so honestly not all that familiar with the story.

Gen Y'ers need something to be outraged about so they have something to write about on social networks. That and the fact they have nothing else to do.

When the people are outraged about injustice, subby, it's perfectly within their 1st Amendment rights to gather in a public space and air their grievances. You wouldn't want your 1st Amendment rights stifled, now would you? It would be an absolute outrage then, I bet.

So don't do it to other people. You might not like the message, you don't even have to agree with it, but if your aim is to stifle the rights that other citizens have under the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, then you should probably gtfo my country.

John Napkintosh: People can be offended all they want, but why do they assume that they know better than the police whether or not a person is guilty of a crime? If there were evidence there to support his guilt, why isn't he under arrest? It may very well be an injustice that a proper investigation apparently hasn't taken place, but these people aren't calling for an investigation - they're calling for an arrest. That's not due process, and if it were done to them they'd be claiming discrimination.

So no, you can't have your cake and eat it too. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton aren't going to change that.

I hope you don't actually believe this crap.

Do you think most killers are allowed to walk off without an arrest? Seriously?

We want this case to be treated exactly as it would be if the victim was white and/or the perp was black. That doesn't seem like an extreme position to me. Apparently, some people think it is.

Can someone please list the evidence against this guy? The shooter?

Folks are calling for an arrest, but don't seem to ever really say a reason other than the kid was not armed, which isn't really pertinent if there was a scuffle etc. An unarmed person can certainly be a threat.

I am not saying that the shooter was right here, but I haven't seen it laid out there what actually transpired that would need to lead to his arrest for murder.

It makes sense, for all we know it may not have even been his bullet, there are many guns around and it could have been a stray and he was shouting for help, when zimmerman came upon the scene.

Not that these aren't tragedies, but it seems to be more of a macabre societal entertainment than anything else. Let's all join in on outrage about something! Let's continue to ignore other things that we really should collectively be more outraged about.

Expressing outrage on behalf of others is the American FARK way.

Irrelevant. I don't see marches for this incident which was clearly racial in intent. But since Zimmerman is Hispanic and from the last name possibly half-Jewish, why is the MSM calling this incident racial? It was Hispanic on black violence which happens in LA often. We don't see that covered by the mainstream either.

You see it goes like this, when Arizona passes evil racist laws Hispanics are a poor oppressed minority but when one shoots an unarmed black kid they are evil racist whites. However it best fits into the agenda you are pushing. Plus they already made the signs and rented buses so fark it.

This was NOT some random chick. This is a woman who was setting up a rally for this incident. Why? Because she thinks this whole thing is about white racism. And she exposed herself and those like her as the true racists. Perhaps a rally should be held in condemnation of racists like her.

How idiots like this can take a hispanic male shooting a black male and turn it into the white man's problem is beyond me.

Why wouldn't there be a scuffle under the Stand Your Ground law? That law gives that kid the same right as the shooter to defend himself if his life was threatened. Some guy comes out of the dark with a gun, no uniform, no attachment to any law enforcement office and he's not supposed to think he has a right to stand his ground. There was no proof prior to the shooting of anyone being a criminal. After the shooting there was proof of one criminal. He walked away.

I t doesn't warrant any sort of action, especially lethal force, but I tend to assume that anyone wearing a hoodie is either strung out or hungover. In either case, it's best to not be around them.

Vodka Zombie: I think it's pretty justifiable being outraged over the murder of a black teenager whose only crime was being in possession of Skittles while black in Florida.

Interesting. So what about the people killed in Chicago last weekend, including an unarmed black 6-year old? Where's the outrage over that? Why isn't that worthy of a protest march?

Curious.

My understanding is that, generally speaking, statutes define all of these killings as homicide, then define self-defense as a legal defense that can be offered to the charge of homicide.

So, there being no question that this guy killed him (he confessed), demanding an arrest so that a jury can weigh the merits of his sketchy claim of self-defense seems perfectly reasonable.

/ Supposedly, this is also why it's unwise to tell the police you did something in self-defense. Unless they have you dead to rights, you're only admitting to a crime that they may not have been able to build a case for in the first place, and proving self-defense isn't as easy as it sounds. Nobody's going to believe you, because every scumbag says that all day long.

Currently I can see the kid deserved a beatdown at most, and wannabe supercop seemed way too eager to pull and use his piece.

I agree with you.
When a private citizen is stalked, chased and detained by another private citizen and fails to immediately submit meekly to the detention, it's OK for the stalker to deliver a severe beatdown.

IOW, you're an effing retard.
