Naw, I'm just working on one screen and Farking on the other so I can't go off into an essay. Again, you've got all the answers. I'm glad you're so confident in something that you can't possibly know. And before you go off into Biblical scripture on me trying to point out contradictions please understand that I have no use for organized religion. I don't know if a burning bush spoke. I don't know if Eve ate an apple or if Noah was able to get two of every animal onto a boat. The difference between us is only that I don't pretend to have more insight than I do.

I think scientists need to conduct experiments to determine how and why adults TOTALLY forget what they felt and how they were as kids. Sometimes, it seems like folks only remember the childlike things that they did and they forget all of the ways that they tried everyday to mimic adult behavior. From candy cigarettes to blowing cold air out and pretending its smoke...from stopping at imaginary stop lights on your bike to playing house. Kids are curious and some are able to get past their fear of the forbidden. It should not be shocking.

As bad a joke as that was, it does raise the issue of how the hell the driver was supposed to know anything was going on. KIds that age bounce on bus seats just like they jump on the bed or sofa. I strongly doubt that what the driver here could see in their mirror was distinguishable from normal behavior. Their being suspended -- even if paid -- is an unwarranted blot on their record.

I wonder if the 8 year old (if not also the 13 year old) were sexually abused in the past. It's a bizarre thing for kids that young to be thinking along those lines all by themselves, something put it into their minds. That something is likely a felony in most every jurisdiction in the US.

It's not that bizarre, it's actually pretty normal. It can be sourced from infantile gratification behavior (aka infantile masturbation) or plain curiosity.

What ages would you define as appropriate then? Heck, my grandparents were 12 years apart...he'd have been 13, she would have been 1. five years at those ages...? hard to judge the maturity of either one...I've seen 13 year olds that I'd say are less mature than my 6 year old.

If it has already been established that the adults were not in a position to see or know of the activity, why are they suspended? If it's with pay, the employer (taxpayers?) is being screwed; it it's without pay the adults concerned are being screwed.

This is screwed up on many levels.
