I'm secretly hoping that the NFL announces a punishment for the Redskins as well. Not anything so drastic as what the Saints got, just their 1st-Round draft pick this year.

That's a bit melodramatic. If they were engaging in contracted assault, let me be the first to point out that they were absolutely terrible at it.

JohnBigBootay: Sapp's blindside on Chad Clifton about ten years ago. Everybody talks about Harrison (James or Rodney) or Suh, etc. but for my money the Sapp hit was far more brutal and unnecessary than any other hit I've seen in the last decade.

i was saying yesterday in the "shockey was the rat" detour the suspension thread took, how i'll never forget the then-Packer coach (mike sherman, fritz sherman, fritz shurmer, whatever) runing up to Sapp and having words, and then Sapp shouting at him -- a mid-thirties professional athlete, 6'3", 290, versus a 60yr old man -- "PUT ON A HELMET! PUT ON A HELMET! PUT ON A HELMET! PUT ON A HELMET!"

What a farkin' JACKBAG.
