Does Drew really want to get subpoenaed to release the names of the Farkers who have slandered the party this thread references?

ATTN: GED LAW STUDENTS. Please shut the fark up before you make a fool of yourself.

First off, Dino has no legal standing to subpoena ANYTHING. Civil lawsuits do not work like that. In order to even contemplate doing that, he would have to sue a bunch of johndoes in open court, and then prove that those johndoes are Fark Members, and then he would have to join Fark, and THEN he could ask the judge for such a subpoena. At which point FARK has a chance to provide them with all the most useful information on earth. IP Addresses and email addresses. Which, as you'll note, is not a name and physical address, both of which are required to join a party to a lawsuit.

Furthermore, Libel and Slander are very serious laws. But they have very little teeth in a situation like this. Fark is public, but only parts of it, and this thread, up to a point, was the private domain of TotalFark. You can not be guilty of defamation inside of a private organization. It's simply not possible since part of the required proofs is damage, and there can be none. Unless he can prove his fark handle was defamed within the group, and even that would grant him only his monthly fees back.

Lastly, those of you going around afraid of the law because you don't have the foggiest idea how it works... you need to educate yourselves. It's pathetic that you live your life absolutely terrified of what a lawyer or judge might say.

For fun: Lets assume this guy sues Fark, and names a bunch of Farkers. He gets to court, gets the info and files suit. Fark sends a letter and some data over. They are now out of the suit (not responsible for what is or isn't posted on the site). The Farkers that get named (precious few I'm sure), would then have to present a defense ...

I was in the original thread and have been watching this one all day and only noticed that about an hour ago. Don't know much about darts but that seems nigh on impossible considering the grouping. Add to that this clown spends most of his time playing Captain Awesome McF*ckcakes with all his other endeavors I doubt he has time to get THAT good at darts.

Obviously a staged photo but if he uses it for his "league" and intends people to think that he actually pulled that off... could there be a false advertising claim brought against him?
