2012-03-20 01:17:21 PM
So what's your point? Just because i have 3 submissive women on second life, and spend all my time doing terrible things to them on odd implements, doesn't mean I'm a bad guy.

2012-03-20 01:20:23 PM
Well...no shiat.

2012-03-20 01:20:41 PM
which is why I actively try to make you all hate me, so I will be more popular in real life.

assholes.

So I suppose I shouldn't post this article to my timeline, then.

GE includes ''self-absorption, vanity, superiority, and exhibitionistic tendencies" and people who score high on this aspect of narcissism need to be constantly at the centre of attention. They often say shocking things and inappropriately self-disclose because they cannot stand to be ignored or waste a chance of self-promotion.

hehe, on the HEAD! I say...

Could it be that social media was invented by and for narcissists?

2012-03-20 01:22:16 PM
For the last time, I do not care what you had for breakfast/lunch/dinner, and I REALLY don't want to see a picture of it. Ever.

2012-03-20 01:22:22 PM
I am self-absorbed, and quite self-centered. The rest of you can kiss my ass, die and go straight to hell.

And that it is tailor made for our individualist first society?

Self-absorbed, narcissistic douchebag ...isn't that the default setting for the species?

I have few online friends, so I'm feeling smug in a completely not-douchbag way.

I used to have more online friends but then they graduated to high school.

Well I have no friends online OR offline, so there!

Sigh...

I will never understand why someone would think to themselves "I'm going to take a picture of this subway sandwich I'm about to eat and post it online!"

2012-03-20 01:31:33 PM
It's not self-absorption and narcissism when you're this awesome.

Wonder what that says about Farkers?

Narcissistic, maybe; sociopathic, probably; sadistic, definitely.

Same could have been said about the size of your rolodex in the '80s or of your black book or whatever they're called in the '90s. Lots of casual acquaintances has correlated strongly to self-absorption since long before the internet was around, it's even one of the core tropes for shiatty high school fiction.

How else will I let people know that I have to be at the gym in 26 minutes?

2012-03-20 01:35:35 PM
So a poorly-written website samples a piece of a secondarily linked article that references a small-sample study that suggests a correlation between narcissism and Facebook activity....and they write the article that can be summarized as "confirmation bias is right, see!"

/facepalm

No. You got that wrong. Again.

FARKING is about anonymous venting. Facebooking is about visible and very showy narcissism.

Do you know who I am? Do any of my friends even know I post comments here? Can anyone short of the police issuing a search warrant to trace this computer ever find my identity? No.

Aside from not posting at all, they're pretty much the opposite of each other.

I have about the same number of online friends as I have in real life. Of course those numbers are pretty small.

2012-03-20 01:43:15 PM
It's easy to weed out this type on the dating sites. Most people post between two and five pictures. The d-bag will have 35 pictures on her profile. It's actually good that Match lets you put that many up there, so people can immediately tell.

2012-03-20 01:45:08 PM
My fake profiles have orders of magnitude more "friends" on them than my real profiles.
I'm sure this means that I am somehow terrible, mostly because it messes with marketing data.

Fark is about the only place I do the whole internet thingy.

(besides pron of course)

No Facebook, No Tweet, No Myspace etc.....

My lawn is quite pristine.

Thank, God. I was starting to feel like a narcissistic douchebag. Honestly I only take pictures of Guinness and post them on the web because it makes me smile when I see one.

Do I have to be a passive-aggressive, neo-elitist if I'm not on Facebook?

Frankly, I'm just a very private person and I got kind of bored with it. How much farmville crap can one accumulate, anyway?

How else am I supposed to creep my ex boyfriends and see what kind of vapid skanks they're dating if not through facebook?
