I agree with you on the fries and shake, but the mashed potatoes from KFC are gawdawful. Their gravy is made out of pure melted down crack however, so that makes up for a lot.

So much this....the mashed potatoes by themselves are damn near inedible, but put some of the gravy deliciousness on them and you have something.

I greatly prefer the Bacon Deluxe to the Baconator because it throws lettuce, tomato, and onion on the burger, which the Baconator does not.

For some reason, the Double and Triple Bacon Deluxe sandviches and meals cost a bit less than their Baconator counterparts.

It's time for Burger King to break some rules. Their endless downfall is crappy french fries. They need to just blatantly copy McDonald's fries and then gloat about it. In fact, they need to go to old school McD fries with extra beef extract and salt. Then they should dump those disgusting "onion rings." If you're going to have rings, use real onions you farkin morans. That is all I have to say about that.

Wendy's - Spicy Chicken, Frostee, Fries, Baked Potato, Chicken Nuggets

Burger King - Whopper, Onion Rings, Croissan'wich

Wendy's has more items that I like, they win.

I like Burger King so much better for the burgers and the Original Chicken sandwich, but Mc Donalds is the shiat when it comes to fries.
Sadly, Mrs Buzzcut does not allow me many outings to BK, because I always get the onion ring flavored processed food product, and those things give me the most godawful gas. I can clear the whole damn house with one BK onion ring fart.

A lot of BK restaurants around here have been turned into Twisters (new window) stores, which aren't bad, but I'd still like to see some more BK available.

Never could stand the food from fast food places but on the off chance that fast food was the only option I would make 3 stops....McD's for fries, BK for a Wopper and Wendys for a Frosty.

It was great that the 3 of them were literally next door to eachother so I didn't have to drive around.....but its even better that all 3 are closed and they built a retention pond there for the local supermarket strip mall abomination.

McDonald's (MCD, Fortune 500), meanwhile, dwarfed both with over $34 billion in sales last year at its 14,098 U.S. locations. It's the largest restaurant chain in the country, followed by Subway, Starbucks

I still can't believe there are more McDonald's and Subways than Starbucks

McDonald's for the fries, Wendy's for the shake, Burger King for the whopper.

Honestly, if my local Wendy's would quit forgetting to cook the damn burgers and would get better fries, it would cut out the other side trips. But nooo they can't be bothered to hire people who know that the meat is supposed to be cooked.

/they've shut down several times recently because of the issue
//at least BK and McDonald's remember that important tip

Kurmudgeon: Any of those before Hardees.

Hardee's used to be really good − especially their fried chicken, which was far and away the best fried chicken I have ever had from any source. Not just better than KFC or Popeye's (let alone Church's) by orders of magnitude, but better than even the most expensive sit-down-and-order-from-the-menu restaurant, better than my parents', better than my grandma's, etc. It was also the only fried chicken I've ever had where I actually liked the breasts (usually they're way too dry for me). Sticking a fork into a Hardee's chicken breast was as risky for getting juice in your eye as sticking a spoon into ½ a grapefruit. The juice would squirt out like a geyser. The skin had wonderful flavor, but the meat was so well and thoroughly marinated that you could take the skin off and it was still far and away better than any other fried chicken (except Hardee's with the skin on).

I found out later that it was actually the Roy Rogers's chain's recipe, which Hardee's licensed from them. But apparently, nobody makes that chicken anymore, which makes me very sad indeed. I wish I had gitten to eat at an actual Roy Rogers's. It must've been even better there, as unimaginable as that sounds to me.

Ahhhh you young people. You are too young to remember when the gravy was pure nirvana , it's now just a pale imitation of it's past glory.

Even Col. Sanders complained when they changed his recipe to something he called 'library paste'....

There are many BK locations that dont seem to flame broil their burgers anymore which was their main selling point which they seem to have gotten away from. They just microwave them. Its just really bad.

2012-03-20 12:52:31 AM
I used to love BK as a kid, but something has happened to their food. It just seems like every "new" food item they release is blander then the last. It was like eating sawdust trying to choke down their "new" fries and a burger, so I swore it off indefinitely. Fatburger on the other hand; makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Remember when Burger King used to actually "flame broil" their burgers? Back in the day you'd know when a BK was busy from the huge plume of smoke hanging over the restaurant, coming from the grill exhaust of course. But they've been microwaving their crap for years, it's no wonder I barely go there anymore.

Wendy's around here went way downhill for some time. The restaurants weren't kept clean, the food was cold, and they never could seem to get your order right. Seems like over the last several months, though, they've cleaned up, gotten new staff, and screw up the order a lot less often.

I do hate the drive through, though, when the person working the window has to take the your info in precise order so they keep butting in. "I'd like a #3 with no pic..." "Small, medium or large?" "Medium, with no pic.." "Would you like fries with that?" "Yes, please, but no pic..." "Do you want to upsize for only $1 more?" "No, but no pic.." "Does that complete your order?"

Yeah, I remember that chicken. Everytime I drive past the local Church's Chicken that used to be an A&W, that used to be a Hardee's (and before that a Burger Chef) I remember sitting there every week with my dad and my brother eating that delicious Hardee's fried chicken with all the sides on the night that mom worked late. I don't ever remember anyone ever buying a hamburger there during that era.

I think it all stopped when they merged with Carl's Jr.

Wendy's makes a good spicey chicken sandwich, and that chocolate frosty is better than any other fastfood shake, except for places that make their milkshakes from scratch.

I remember when they dropped chicken from the menu, it was the main reason I went there.
Then they started their line of sandwiches, gave me one on a stale bun that crumbled while I was going down the road in my car, haven't been back in quite awhile. Burgers I can get anywhere, but that chicken was worth the stop.

I came here to discuss burgers, If you want to have that conversation go to the politics tab.
I am annoyed that all the local dives in Las Vegas are closing. There was a great place called Kilroy's that served the absolute best burgers (I was partial to the sourdough melt, not strictly a burger but so what). They were consistently voted best burger in Las Vegas, but one day they just closed their Kitchen and left us all without their Burger goodness. It was a sad day.
