Di Atribe: I think he's great.

I like him more because the more he doesn't react negatively, the more butthurt they get. Like Tebow cares if it's in Denver or somewhere else he's playing.

Tim Tebow: Ya'll need to chill. All things work together for good, right?

SixPaperJoint: KingPsyz: Trade Tebow to the Bears...

He'll either rise to occasion or be cruicified with the weakest QB protection in the NFL, and I say that as a Bears fan.

I may not be a T-bow fan, but I don't want to see him dead. That's just cruel.

Also Bears fan.

He's not going to the Bears.

Cutler is in, they signed McGown for a one year deal. I also just can't see some sparkly-eyed Jesus boy on the Bears-- no, the Bears are used to their qbs looking pissed and sulky. Tebow is too damn happy all the time. fark that.

And now that Marshall is in to receive from Cutler, things should be better. Should. They should be better. Whatever the hell Tice now does to fark that up...

Long story short.... Tebow is NOT coming to the Bears.

No, he played with knees held together with chewing gum and duct tape and a ruptured biceps tendon on his throwing arm. That was also back in the days of "Elway is so old and decrepit and never won anything. Brian Griese is the wave of the future".

IAmRight: redmid17: Broncos ceiling is much higher with Manning that with Tebow.

Well, since they're not going to make it to the Super Bowl and they're probably not going to make the AFCCG, they're probably going to be worse than last year.

If you base a team's ceiling solely on results in a down year for the AFC, I'm going to assume you're not very interested any of the actual football. Your POV is incredibly oversimplistic.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

As a Bears fan, yes, please. Send him to Green Bay. Just so I can watch my good friend, who happens to be tainted with Green Bay blood, cry a little each time he sees Tebow's mug peering out from beneath a yellow helmet.

If football is good to me this year, THIS will happen.

Maybe this will signal the end of my wife's fundie relation watching farking football for the first time to gush about Tebow and his Jesusly-ness. I have never seen a group of people be so shallow about a topic when somebody with similar beliefs started playing it. They even named their goddanm puppy "Tebow" even though none of them cared about football before Tebow.

OTH, now I can post hilarious Manning memes to facebook to get them riled up.

"I am very angry right now. Tim Tebow has not been given a fair shake or enough time to prove himself. I hope Manning goes down on the first play of the season, and with no one to back him up Denver will be a bunch of losers. Thanks John Elway for screwing up our team..."

"Hey Denver Fan so how does that make you feel...being a party to attempting to destroy the only sincere true winner in the professional football. If you don't think this was because that egotistical, girl, creep of an executive VP was crying to his staff that Tebow was getting more love than he was in his beloved city you're all nuts!"

"I hope he snaps his ** neck the first play of the regular season, and this team losses every single game. Screw the brocnos and this over the HIll punk who had to get the rules of the NFL changed so he could win his first super bowl, been a bronco fan my entire life, and now im done. Good Luck Denver hope he can play more than 4 games this season."

Captain Steroid: Peyton, on the other hand, had a BROKEN FREAKIN' NECK! Coming back from an injury like that is difficult enough, but in DENVER? In THAT altitude?! In his shape, he'll be lucky to finish the season!

Tebow & MJD together might be an intriguing combo anyway. By "intriguing" I mean "will still lose 9-10 games" but will probably move the ball a hell of a lot more than Gabbert was able to last year with the worst receiving corp to ever suit up in the NFL.

IAmRight: Well, since they're not going to make it to the Super Bowl and they're probably not going to make the AFCCG, they're probably going to be worse than last year.

Oh come on. The Broncos were absolutely gifted an 8-8 playoff spot last year, then they had one lightning in a bottle playoff upset, at home no less, before reverting to form. You're insane if you don't think they have a higher ceiling than they did. I know you don't like Manning but surely you don't think the broncos would have been better off with tebow than peyton. That's just silly. Manning may or may not kick ass this year - that will play out however it plays out and there's too many variables to even name here. But make no mistake about it - this was a freakin' lottery and any of a half dozen teams were lined up to get the guy and the broncos won. Now they have to play the games. I know you're big on previous history, but as they say, past performance is no guarantee of future results. I'm content to wait for the season, but my guess is Peyton will be over 60 % completions, 3 to 1 TD/int. How many games will they win? I have no freakin' idea. The NFL playoff turnover % is huge and none of us have any idea what will happen. Which is why the NFL is fun to watch.

I'm incredibly torn on this because I hate peyton with all my guts, but I wanna keep rooting for the denver ponies.

Plus I don't know how wise it is to piss off Tebow's deity when your neck might have the structural integrity of a twig.

Di Atribe: Yeah, this. I don't ever remember him whining. People expected him to whine and all he did was have a surprisingly good attitude. I think he's great.

Oh, I think Tim Tebow is a wonderful person. Personally I think he wasting a lot of time that could be productive by spending so much energy on the mythical sky grandfather, but morally he's a breath of fresh air. It's not personal dislike - I just don't think he'll ever have the completion percentage to be a long-term NFL starting qb. I'd love to have the guy in my locker room, I just wouldn't want him spending large amounts of time standing behind my center during real games. If he develops those skills I'd be rooting for him. Quality person.

oh_please: I'm thinking Teebus may be worth a third to JAX/MIA, a fifth to anyone else.

i would love if there was some secret, crazy ass three team trade that put Tebow in like, Arizona or Seattle or San Diego or some shiat. "miami sends their 1 and 3 to pittsburgh, who sends their 2 and james harrison to san diego, who moves harrison to denver for tebow....."

Kurmudgeon: redmid17: Tebow is young, but he cannot be trained into a decent QB.

And now Denver is one neck injury away from the same kind of season that Indianapolis had last year.
As for not being able to be trained, I've seen much worse rookie quarterbacks.

Every team is one neck injury away. NE is one knee hit away from losing Brady...again, as is every other team.

It's a violent sport.

2012-03-19 01:55:06 PM

redmid17: If you base a team's ceiling solely on results in a down year for the AFC, I'm going to assume you're not very interested any of the actual football. Your POV is incredibly oversimplistic.

All I'm saying is that the Broncos with Manning won't get past the divisional round of the playoffs, weak AFC or not. So they spent a lot of money and didn't help themselves except that they get to watch a (if he's back to his pre-injury performance level) better QB lead them to a playoff loss.

JohnBigBootay: I know you don't like Manning but surely you don't think the broncos would have been better off with tebow than peyton.

I like Manning fine. I don't like how, after a year of not playing, everyone suddenly decided he was better than he was. He's a great indoor QB who struggles when the going gets tough. I'm glad he's going to Denver! And that's with the BEST case scenario. He hasn't played in over a year and he's coming off several neck surgeries - repaired or not, surgeries tend to mess with one's head.

And I'm glad he cockteased San Francisco! If they lose out on him AND lose Alex Smith, with the Seahawks getting Matt Flynn....well, I couldn't have asked for anything more out of this offseason.

/let's also not forget that the Broncos were 1-4 before Tebow came in, so it's not like they were 8-8 with him.

2012-03-19 01:55:11 PM

The Bestest: oh, what about the Bucs? I know Tampa is a lot further from Gainesville than Jax is, but are they a possibility?

They're gonna give Josh Freeman a chance to get back to his rookie form with the new toys they've given him at WR and OG (Jackson and Nicks). If he continues his sophomore slump, they may go after a QB in the draft in '13.

2012-03-19 01:55:50 PM
From another message board:

"Tebow asked God to help the Broncos win, so God sent Peyton Manning."
