NCAA Tournament story lines by week
1. Syracuse loses best player. (Pre-tourney)
2. UNC loses best player. (pre 16)
3. UK looks even better. (pre-F4)

Congrats to Ohio on being story 2a.

That's only because Alan Freed invented basketball and that gives Ohio an unfair advantage.

Whatever victories, in whatever sports, it takes the state to forget they are the home state of the Browns and the Bengals.

That's because they don't count the automatic loss for being in Ohio in tournament play, for some stupid reason.

Maybe if the coaches at Cinci and Xavier had balls and kicked players off the team post brawl this would not be the case

I think if you re-work this joke into 3 more threads, you will get a laugh from someone.

Well, let's have three more threads about the same thing then!

This is the first one actually on the topic. Not that your post is related to the topic anyway. Are you an Iona fan or something?

I think two #2 seeds losing in the first round (err second round) would be the major 2 story.

Ohio is now the Bucket-eye State. My brother is an Ohio U. graduate, and he was freaking nuts about these wins. He's already looking forward to upsetting UNC.

Ohio is a microcosm for the entire nation. You get all demographics, from urbanites to hicks, to Blacks to Whites to Muslims to Amish.... Its the defacto-standard American accent (in other words, they have no accent in Ohio). Heck, it even shaped like a miniture America.... I guess if you think the good ol' USA sucks, you may say that Ohio sucks too.

The problem is you have the worst of America. Sure, you have cities, but they're Cleveland and Cincinnati. Sure, you have farmland, but you don't have the market on farmland that states like Indiana and Iowa have. You places like Youngstown and Dayton and Toledo that have all see better days. Ohio is a mircocosm for the nation, but it looked a lot better in the 1960s.

I'd like to say, as an Ohio U grad, that the dance was fun and we wouldn't mind staying...but we know we're going to get destroyed.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day. We both agreed that Ohio beating UNC would be a tall order. However, with Marshall out (I doubt he plays or isn't 100 percent) it's going to be a large order rather then a x-large order. I believe Ohio has it in them to pull off the upset. I doubt they will but I believe it's going to be a hard fought game.

WhoIsWillo: The problem is you have the worst of America

Going to have to see some proof you have spent more than 5 minutes in Ohio before I accept such a lame blanket statement there hoss.

Sure, you have cities, but they're Cleveland and Cincinnati.

You missed Columbus and Cincy is not a bad place at all. Yea Cleveland has issues but what state with more than 2 major metro areas doesn't have a town like that?

Sure, you have farmland, but you don't have the market on farmland that states like Indiana and Iowa have.

Ohio is ranked a respectable 17th in the nation in agriculture production while Indiana is 11th and Iowa 3rd. While Indiana and Iowa are fine states in their own right, they really don't do anything other than agriculture. Sorry if Ohio is a little more diversified which was kinda the point T.rex was making to begin with.

You places like Youngstown and Dayton and Toledo that have all see better days.

Again show me a non-rural state that doesn't have towns like this.

Ohio is a mircocosm for the nation, but it looked a lot better in the 1960s.

So first you say Ohio only has the worst of America then agree that it is a microcosm for the nation. So as T.rex said; I guess if you think the good ol' USA sucks, you may say that Ohio sucks too.

Would love to hear about the beautiful workers' paradise you hail from my friend.

On ESPN?!
The results of games are meaningless. Mindless speculation about what can happen are golden.

Yesterday:
4+ hours of solid Manning coverage.
0 NCAA highlights.

Out of everyone I know who grew up in Columbus, claiming "its such a terrible boring city", then moved out to a 'better' place (Portland, Arizona, North Carolina, etc etc)...

Most come back to visit and say "yeah Columbus is fine, but have you SEEN everywhere else? Its a shiatshow out there!"
