He and some guy named Burton eloped.

Let me be the first to apologize to the current generation for everything from the 90s that's going to be inflicted on you, especially the hyper-aware period comedies influenced by the movie 'Singles' and the terrible, terrible "grunge" bands that were just glam acts with different costumes on. Because you weren't culturally conscious then you aren't going to know that the authenticity of the time that terrible writers at EWeekly et al. will breathless jerk themselves off about was manufactured and the people who rhapsodize about the MUSIC REVOLUTION never made an effort to find music past turning on their commercial Top-40 radio station.

Also, remember this post when Lady Gaga and Nickelback nostalgia becomes a cultural force in 2025, ok?

Well, I for one didn't know that Mr. X from "The X-Files" was on "21 Jump Street". Maybe that has to do with the fact I was an avid watcher of the former and only saw maybe 15 minutes of the latter.

In other words, I got nothin'.

Saw that movie this weekend. Tried too hard at some points but it was pretty funny. Just wanted to say that.

I can't believe people are going to see this abomination. Not that the original 21 Jump Street was an amazing show or anything, . . .but at least get the genre right.

Give the movie a chance. For what it is, it's pretty funny. Like thecpt said, it tries hard at some points, but it's still a stupid funny movie.

I prefer the 80's, in all of it's big-haired, pastel colored, cheesy glory.

90's were kinda emo and a little too self-aware.

You have company. I was part of the generation that was watching TV when Fox hit the airwaves, and I felt like they were making TV just for me. (granted, I also should point out that I grew up in a house without cable, and broadcast television was crap back then)

After brief forays into "recapturing my TV youth" I resolved that certain shows will remain sealed in the time-capsule of my mind. I don't care if they release 21 Jump Street on DVD, I don't want to ruin the hormone-driven connection that I have with the show by watching it through a filter created by the experiences that I have had since then.

As for the re-release? I'll probably check it out when it hits redbox. I mean, it can't be worse than G.I. Joe, right?

Sorry, man, Janine Turner's become a shrill right-wing retard, even though she was never known for her penetrating grasp of the issues of the day, or any issues, for that matter.

In other words, she's become a dumb, loud Teatard, albeit one that doesn't need a Rascal to get around.

He had a one-off in the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie, but they didn't even have him back for the sequels.

So Dustin Nguyen's character is Vietnamese, but passes himself off as Japanese, and assumes the name Harry Truman Ioki, naming himself after the guy that had Japan nuked.

And that didn't raise any questions.

It's cool bro. Too many what seems to be perfect hollywood relationships just crumble overtime. Not everyone can be living the dream life of Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates.

They did release a dvd set, but all the music (which is what made the show, imho), was replaced with generic crap. I hate it when companies do that.

I can understand a where are they now piece for most of the cast members, but Johnny Depp? We all know where he's been for the last ohhhhhh twenty years or so. I also thought Peter DeLuise was dead, but I realized I was thinking of Chris Penn.

I liked the show. So that makes about 4 of us.

The thing is this isn't the original (as in at the start of the series). Greico wasn't there originally and the guy who killed Jason replaced a hippy who originally ran jump street.

//Wasn't a huge fan of the show but I remember that much.

Totally not surprised Grieco is doing the Hasselhoff schtick in Germany
