I thought McDonald's limit was 4 days, so long as you put the cooked food back in the freezer overnight and re-microwave it in the morning.

March is food safety month in China (really). This is the month that inspectors are supposed to step their game up and really check up on restaurants and grocery stores. So I guess one of them actually did.

The other reason likely relates to the recent story on how grocery stores are taking expired food, repackaging it with new expirations dates, and putting it back on the shelf. Now the government can point fingers at the evil foreign companies and be like "They do it too!". That's pretty much Chinese propaganda these days: "Yes we have problems, but so does everyone else!". (Everyone is evil so vote X).

Of course they got huffy about it; it was foreign firms trying to poison their populace... that's supposed to be a domestic industry for them.

I wonder what the real story is here, usually things of this sort don't appear until someone dies.

I guess some official in China is looking for a bribe, because everyone know that they have absolutely no concern how many millions of their people die of malnutrition.

highbrow45: You can get chicken wings at McDonalds in China?

Yeah. They're good, too.

It's also perfectly acceptable to just leave your tray on the table when you are done.
