I dunno, the Seahawks have a decent chance to be a competitive team next season. QB was a glaring weakness.

robsul82: There are Seahawk fans complaining about this? Wow.

They're mostly people that really wanted Manning...even though Manning never was willing to visit. Sigh. Having a leader that doesn't want to be there isn't going to help you win, ever. In any field.

robsul82: I expected more of an Epiphany-level fangasm from you on this news, IAR.

I don't think I ever fully get to that level. Plus I had to wait a whole night for this to get on Fark, and by that point I'd already covered a lot on my friends-who-don't-like-this-move's wall. I can see why my Dolphins fan friend wouldn't like the move. But for a Seahawks fan to not like this, especially given what we had to give up (nothing)? You gotta be out of your minds.

"He only started one game before his senior season in college." And raped "Da U" 40-3.
"He only played one season in college." And won a national championship.
"It's based on one good game." Yeah, because 480 yards and 6 TDs is "good." And they all forget that he stepped up pretty big against New England the year before, even if they did eventually lose the game. 9 TD, 2 INT in 2 starts, both against playoff-bound teams.
"Kolb had good games, too." Kolb's big games were a 2 TD, 3 INT performance and a 2 TD, 0 INT performance. Oh, by the way, he got injured right after the 2 TD, 0 INT performance, played another year where he had a 1/1 TD/INT ratio, and got injured again. Flynn has 2 3 TD games in 2 starts; Kolb has 1 after 16 (and he's been named as a starter 3 times, been injured all three years, and been outperformed by everyone that replaced him). Don't you f*cking DARE compare Matt Flynn to Kevin f*cking Kolb. And the Cardinals paid Kolb more money, gave away a player, AND gave up a pick. The Seahawks got Flynn for free (well, money, but money isn't important like players or picks)!
"He'll be another Matt Cassel." Oh, the guy that played 2009 on an injured MCL, got healthy in 2010 and was a Pro Bowler, then got injured again? Yeah, I'd hate to have a Pro Bowl caliber QB when he's not injured! Give me more Tarvaris Jackson!

As a Packer fan, I approve of this transfer... at least he didn't go to the Bears or the Vikings...

Carousel Beast: This, ladies and gentlemen, is an example of the triumph of hope over experience.

Hey, I didn't say anything crazy like we're winning the Super Bowl - it's still a Seattle team and if they win, then they have to leave town (see: Seattle Metropolitans, Seattle SuperSonics). But Matt Flynn was the best available QB for the Seahawks and they got him. And they didn't have to give up picks thanks to Green Bay not franchising him, AND they spent a reasonable amount for him, so even if it doesn't work out, at least they didn't Kolb it up.

And now we don't have to waste a draft pick trying to get the 4th best QB in the draft, we don't have to start the season with Tarvaris Jackson as our starter, and we didn't wind up stuck with, say, Chad Henne as our starter.

This is probably the first time I've ever been completely happy with a Seahawks offseason, and felt like they actually made the right moves.

Flynn is far from an unknown quantity to us Green Bay folks.

I'm not exaggerating I'd I say he is in the top 15 now and has the potential to crack the top 10 QBs very early this season. I know he was a back up but dude was best friends with AR and they learned together, prepared with the defenses, and knows more than most starting QBs about football. He also can read defenses in real time.

Seattle made a great pick up. This isn't a competition for a starting role. It's his.

Packer fan here. Proud of that guy. Thought he was over valued when drafted but now i'm sad to see such talent leave. Its wrong to be a career back up with that much talent though and I'm sure he'll tear that division a new one. 'Hawks do have talent at WR and RB as well as a good line.

We still have Matt Moore, who let's not forget, is better than JP Losman, Sage Rosenfels, Tyler Thigpen, Pat White, John Beck, Cleo Lemon, Joey Harrington, Daunte Culpepper, Gus Frerotte, AJ Feeley or Jay Fiedler, and about level with Chad Henne.

Flynn, while very pretty right now, is essentially an unknown quantity.

Anyway Miami's problem isn't quarterback play, it's all-around consistency, which is probably a function of coaching. We'll see.

Yeah it sucks how he'll be heading a team that was division champions a whole two years ago and could've made the playoffs this year if TARVARIS JACKSON hadn't got hurt.

Imagine what they'll be with using Richard Sherman all year, with a good QB under center, and with whatever draft picks they get.

And if Okung can stay healthy? Oh man. Sorry St. Louis and Arizona, you're not seeing the playoffs anytime soon. Welcome to 4 losses a year from Seattle and San Francisco.

Yeah, more like RIP Miami. Their backup plans are Tebow and Alex Smith. Yeah, good luck with that.

Wow, Miami is loosing out left and right are they not?

How long until they make an offer to McNabb just to have somebody in uniform?
