GARBAGE

2012-03-18 01:23:36 PM
Brown Pictures

2012-03-18 01:24:25 PM
Is it also a time travel movie because I see the Washington Monument is finished... and it was completed on February 21, 1885. Aberham Lincoln Time Traveling Vampire Hunter???

Movie looks dumb by the way.

2012-03-18 01:24:33 PM
Nope, still awful. And its not necessarily the concept, but the execution is just garbage.

2012-03-18 01:24:38 PM
Finally the truth is told.

2012-03-18 01:25:50 PM
Do you get it? This movie is going to be awesome because it has vampires in it, and like, it's the president of the United States who is killing them. The one with funny beard and hat. It's called Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Do you get it?

/remember how awesome snakes on a plane was going to be?
//yeah, I remember how that turned out.

2012-03-18 01:26:25 PM
I'm waiting for Roosevelt vs Predator.

2012-03-18 01:26:39 PM
Anyone here read the book?
I'm just wondering if it's worth picking up.

We all knew Snakes on a Plane was going to be really bad. There was never any doubt.

Starring "Rupert Stillwell" or "Rumpert Sewerhill" as the cross eyed unbelievable guy...

a fast read of the imdb reads like a c grade list of fail...

"the guy from that show as Chumperton P Gravy"

wow. just wow. i'd rather give Mugato 20 million bucks to plaster something together than watch this shiat.

I'm kind of looking forward to this.

Now I can't be cool any more because I like something.

No doubt? Fark thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.....

It's amusing and worth a library trip. Wouldn't buy it.

It will still suck, but it will also still be awesome.

El Dudereno: I'm kind of looking forward to this.

you are right there....
maybe start with the "el dudereno" and work it down from there...
your "liking something" is only a small part of why you aren't cool.

Nope, still looks too much like Van Helsing.

2012-03-18 01:37:53 PM
After the death of the 70s auteur, Roger Corman used to complain that Hollywood was taking movies he would do for less than $20k and turning them into gigantic masturbatory blockbusters with no substance. Now the guy from Troma feels Corman's pain.

2012-03-18 01:37:55 PM
you know what, they need to make "Dick Cheney! Zombie Killer!" where Dick Chaney has to fight off all the dead American Soldiers who didn't get benefits paid out to their N.O.K....

mooseyfate: It will still suck, but it will also still be awesome.

Rent it cheap, and with enough alcohol...maybe.

Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: Nope, still awful. And its not necessarily the concept, but the execution is just garbage.

That's my thought exactly. The book was well done, less flourish and more substance. This looks like typical Hollywood piss. The axe spinning was nifty, but the aerial acrobatics was shiate.

Mildot: Is it also a time travel movie because I see the Washington Monument is finished... and it was completed on February 21, 1885. Aberham Lincoln Time Traveling Vampire Hunter???

The book the movie is based on explains that. Let's just say it doesn't involve time travel.

That could work, if the producers put some thought into it.

It is. The author, Seth Grahame-Smith, also wrote "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies".

Well I'll be dipped, re-dipped, tarred and feathered, and sheened to a high gloss -- that looks absolutely farking retarded.

2012-03-18 01:49:16 PM
Ya know, movies can suck AND be awesome at the same time.

2012-03-18 01:49:28 PM
It'll be dumb but fun.

Actually... that'd probably kick ass ;-)

Teddy or Franklin?

'Cause Teddy could get a great Buford T. Pusser/Big Stick "Walking Tall" thing going and Franklin could trick out his wheelchair like the Batmobile.
Either way, it's better than this turd.

360p? What does 360p mean?

JFK: Clam Hunter.

2012-03-18 02:00:46 PM
ihow about tricky dick nixon as the scheming sidekick for the devil, zombie vampires or evil aliens instead of hitler and the nazis all the time.

2012-03-18 02:03:45 PM
I don't give a fark what anyone says. This is worth my cash for 3D so I can either be thoroughly entertained at how awesome this is going to be, or how hysterically awful it will be. I can't farking wait.

PvtHike: I'm waiting for Roosevelt vs Predator.

Holy fark! GREAT farkING IDEA! POSSIBLY OF ALL TIME!!!

"I carry a big stick. And if it bleeds, we can kill it."

Already been done. Almost - FDR: American Badass (Find it on the Yoytubes) features a cursing Roosevelt fighting Nazi Werewolves, with the guy who played Laura Palmer's Dad as 'Dougie Mack' or, MacArthur.

There's lots of Polio jokes, too.

Abe Vigoda's Ghost: Anyone here read the book?

Check it out from the library. It's a good time-wasting, brain-dead read with a few good spots, but certainly not worth paying much money for.

2012-03-18 02:10:20 PM
As a huge fan of the book, i would have preferred it ended up on screen in the form of an R rated TV series.

I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I thought it was a good enough read that I bought it for one of the intensive reading teachers at school. Now there's an English teacher who assigns it every year as required reading for her AP class to teach literary criticism.

Sort of like this: Masters of Horror Showtime series, "Homecoming" by Joe Dante/Mick Garris: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0643105/.

It wasn't bad; it was just boringly mediocre. It couldn't even lower itself to the level of memorable suckage.

Fark. Yeah.

ExperianScaresCthulhu: PvtHike: I'm waiting for Roosevelt vs Predator.

That could work, if the producers put some thought into it.

It would be the exact opposite plot of Predators. A squad of the best Predators from the Predator empire (not really sure what their "nation" is called) crash land on Earth and must work together to survive a menacing moustachioed Teddy Roosevelt as he stalks them from the trees, picking them off one by one and ripping their spines out.

/I'd watch it

limboslam: JFK: Clam Hunter.

He calls up his buddy Lyndon Johnson and they both race down to the beach to see who can collect more clam shells. The entire movie is about them trying to find a parking space.

/not obscure

I think he's talking about a different kind of clam. You know. Moose knuckles. Camel toes, etc. I could be wrong.

Another overly-dark twitch movie with CGI landscapes and people jumping off walls? Yawn.

Movie looks hilarious. What a premise.

If you wanted to feature a true badass president, it would be Andrew Jackson.
Maybe Jackson vs. Terminator.
Or Alien.

2012-03-18 02:47:20 PM
The book sucked and the movie will suck too. Let me put it this way, at one point in the book Lincoln randomly befriends Edgar Allan Poe. It's stupid.

Krumet: If you wanted to feature a true badass president, it would be Andrew Jackson.

You do know it's based on the book with the same title, right?

From the clip: "It's time we had a nation of our own." - Some Vampire Guy

So, the vampires are a stand-in for the slave states? It could work, and it would certainly have modern political resonance. But I really doubt the movie would handle it in a non-anvil-dropping way.
