YouWinAgainGravity: I think the only thing I didn't like about last week was how fast Shane reanimated. Other people killed have usually taken half a day or so.

I noticed that as well, everything you said ran through my mind, brilliant minds yadda, yadda, yadda.....

OK, I never read the comic. Apparently Carl kills Shane there as well? If anyone would care to describe that character arc and how it differed?

Personally, I liked Shane. However, I thought the writers would allow him some character growth after Rick saves his ass on the school bus (he was kinda facing certain death).

born_yesterday: I can't help but picture it and chortle!

Scene: Lori henpecking Rick

Cut scene: T-Dog firing a rocket launcher from on top of a cruising Trans Am,taking out a fuel depot, killing a hundred or so zombies in one massive fiery explosion. He does a front flip off the car, which barrels into a big group of zombies and explodes, and lands right next to the cockpit of a fully armed Apache attack helecopter, which he starts to warm up...

Scene: Hershel's family making dinner. There's tomatoes and cucumber!

HAHAHAHAHAHA

+Smart + Funny

Good gravy, this post wins EVERYTHING... because you know this is EXACTLY how T-Dog spends his time while everyone else is soap-opera-ing.

My prediction is that everyone holds up in the farmhouse while the zombies mass outside. Herschel wants to take his family down into the basement as it is the only safe place. Tdog will argue that the basement is a deathtrap, There will be a fight over the only television, it falls and gets broken, and with a final, "All you yo-yos can stay up here and die, " Herschel boards up the basement only he doesn't realize his youngest daughter finally got that suicide trick perfected and she becomes a zombie eating her father. Meanwhile, having slipped upstairs for a quick shower, Maggie...

Anyways, they all get out when Daryl makes a break for it gathering horses riding to the front of the house shouting, "Regulators!!!!!" and they ride off in the sunset.

I can't speak for the character arcs, but I know that Carl kills non-zombie Shane there.

In short, Carl shot Shane because Shane was going to kill Rick. Also, Shane was a lot less annoying in the books for the simple reason he wasn't around as long. Dale was, though. Dale was.

YouWinAgainGravity: I think the only thing I didn't like about last week was how fast Shane reanimated. Other people killed have usually taken half a day or so.

Jenner said it can take anywhere from a few minutes to 8 hours. Basically it takes however long is convenient for the plot.

Persepolis: I've read the comic books, and I'm down with the explanation with everyone being carriers of the virus, that kicks into affect once they die.

However, do you remember the highway scene during the first episode of this seasons? There were a whole rack of corpses in the cars and all over the road that were just dead. No head trauma, no seeming causes of death. Just dead.

It bugged me when I saw it then, it bugs me more now that they've kept that walking dead virus from the comic books.

Can anyone explain that? It's whats keeping me from fulling enjoying the show anymore.

That puzzled me as well. Methinks it's just a plot hole.

fusillade762: As someone said in an earlier thread: they really should have dug a trench around the farmhouse. It's not like they didn't have plenty of time.

How far into the zombie apocalypse are we? I thought it was only weeks or maybe a month or two at most.

Merle will rescue them from the zombie horde, and then the credits will role.

/till next season

kronicfeld: Trafficguy2000: I just hope they follow the next season's path to the same conclusion as the books......

The thing that happens at the end of that arc (end of the first Compendium) probably will never happen on TV. Even cable.

You are probably right but the reaction would be awesome from the general audience (especially consudering how much everyone loves you know who)

Sarcastica75: dale was their philosopher king, their moral compass. and one of the three main characters who still had brains for the zombies to come at.

man, do the rest of them suffer from the stupid-it-burns. it's a marvel those zombies don't starve.

Comic spoilers below:

I just grabbed the first five graphic novels this weekend since Comixology had a half-price sale, and even with Dale surviving, the group made some pretty stupid decisions. Arguing against killing someone who beheaded two little girls, for example, was just dumb. This of, course, after they blame the scary black prisoner and let the creepy serial killer looking prisoner wander free. Even worse, just as Rick seems to be getting a clue to just how much the world has changed, the Bad Idea Bears strike and he decides, "Hey, let's go check out that helicopter crash" while they are trying to create a safe, stable compound. Rick and Ned Stark need to team up and become Anti-Life Coaches or something.

i have sent three emails to the show and still no response.

It is obvious the writers and producers have never been to Atlanta and Georgia because of the lack of AFrican American Zombies, because GA is a chocolate state.

The first season was a rehash of existing zombie movie plots and visuals.

The second was an endless view of people doing laundry and chopping wood on the side of the road.

At this point the last episode is set up to go one of two ways.

Either it will be inspired by the first season's lack of originality and become a recreation of Night of the Living Dead. (the evidence is already there)

Or, it will go Mad Max style and open the story to broader chaos.

But I doubt they have that much creativity.

Get ready to be unhappy with the results.

The Walking Dead is one of the worst shows in the history of television. I finally gave up on the show about three episodes into this season, and I haven't looked back. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

They died early in the outbreak and hadn't contracted the virus before they died.

/just a guess, I don't know

You've never made a better decision than one that involved not spending nine hours passively watching a television show? Your life is balls.

I felt the same after the first few, but decided to stick with it to see if it would turn. The last few episodes justify the slow storyline of earlier in the season. Tonight should be quite a romp.

fusillade762: As someone said in an earlier thread: they really should have dug a trench around the farmhouse. It's not like they didn't have plenty of time.

The farmhouse is a pillow fort. A trench or moat will just fill up with the first hundred or so zombies and form a bridge for the rest.

T.M.S.: The first season was a rehash of existing zombie movie plots and visuals.

Unless the zombies break out into a song and dance routine or start writing poetry, I'm not sure how anything with mindless flesh-eating undead is going to be vastly different and original from everything else about mindless flesh-eating undead.

I predict the guy they left on the roof who chopped his own hand off is going to be the leader of a big gang they encounter.

Also - they encounter a walker who talks.

I'm rewatching last weeks episode and I'm wondering how far into the woods Shane and Rick walked. Carl caught up with pretty quickly in any case.

keithgabryelski: Mugato: everyone on the planet is infected [...] the recently dead automatically become zombies. Being bitten just kills them.

this i think is obvious -- but this is not frightening in anyway -- dead is dead -- dead but animated is just a little inconvenient.

I dunno, who knows what sort of hell one goes through when they turn into a zombie? And say for instance if I'm banging your mom and she dies from asphyxiation or a heart attack, if I knew it was mandatory that I had to also shoot her in the head, that would trouble me.

So then why bother to make this series?

Seems kind of pointless to spend so much effort and money on rehash existing stories.

Probably because, despite your opinion that every piece of entertainment made must be 100% original and different from anything else that exists, the source material for the series was popular and someone figured a tv show would be as well.

IMO the series is more about the emotions and human trials in a zombie outbreak. The dead are just props.

Hi - I just watched the last episode for the second time, and it sucked twice as hard the second time as it did the first. And now I'm going to watch the finale, because that's going to suck too.

In between, I just wanted to say Hi. And Suck.

Because I'm all cool an stuff.
