How the hell do they survive in the wild, if they can't find food even when it's RIGHT FARKING IN FRONT OF THEM?

I guess in the wild he would have been dealing with a whole tomato, not just a chunk of one. More surface area to aim at.

Product placement thinks it's all subtle and viral these days, but it's not.

I'm guessing it's either blind in one eye or it's got brain damage. That's not normal behavior for a tortoise.

You laugh now, but they'll never again be allowed to hold the awards
ceremony in the same town as the Georgia O'Keefe Museum.

One possible explanation from the cow thread:

He's having some difficulty getting the salt.

I prefer to think this turtle just hasn't been calibrated yet.

Maybe that is why they move so slowly, so they won't have to eat much.

WTF are you talking about? I have two tortoises and feed them all the time, they always do this. When they eat something on their own it's different they can usually figure it out, but when I hold it in front of them the male one especially can never quite get it right. The worst part is when he bites me he locks on pretty hard. Their eyes are on the side of their heads so it's hard to bite something directly in front of them.

I've had a few turtles, and they had no problem eating veggies out of my hand. Have you considered the possibility that your tortoises are blind in one eye or have brain damage?
