KellyKellyKelly: Actually I'm doing a hell of a lot better this year than last year. Coin flipping did NOT pay off at all.

I tried flipping a coin for one of my brackets this year.

New Mexico better win it all!

Um, hey Marquette?

Let'shiat these layups please. That's 3 in a row you've missed.

This Marquette/Murray St game is wild.

Jae Crowder is a f*cking beast of a man. I've been within 5 feet of him, and was in awe of just how powerfully built he is.

Friction8r: Kwame, you're missing a good party at the opening of The Breakers Marina!

I'm in Knoxville now, but it would be fun to have made that drive to Louisville.

Holy crap that dude in the stands is huge. Wow.

I'm outside of Murray in Paris Landing at this sweet new Marina. Racer Nation is fanatical. Surrounded by houseboats, big screens, some lovely young GRITS and live music coming up later.

Oh, the nights I spent in Paris landing.

Heh, I'm really not listening to anything other than the crowd noises now. MU game on the TV, UW game streaming on my laptop. The announcers are just extra noise I'm tuning out.

I didn't think Paris even had a landing strip....

That's like the 5th blown fast break, Marquette. Come on.

Paris, TN is a sh*thole, but they boast the world's largest fish fry and access to one of the most beautiful lake networks in the country.

What the f*ck, Marquette. You're falling apart.

Seems like UK fans are anti-Marquette.

Well, looks like I know who I have to root for. C'mon Marquette!

Guess I'm rooting for Murray St., since I have them winning this game in my bracket.

Of course, I'm currently tied for 329th in the Fark pool, so no delusions of this game putting me on top or anything.

Ha, Samuels couldn't play because his former AAU coach sent him money before the tourney. Dude straight up admitted it to a reporter on the phone.

I just realized that Murray St is the lowest ranked team I have going to the Sweet 16. Way to take some chances.

The thing that doesn't make any sense to me is the idea it might be permissible because they had a prior relationship "from his AAU days". Because it's not possible the coach is giving the kid money back then in the hopes of steering him to a particular agent for a commission?

Yeah it is nothing, but if you are an NCAA athlete don't take money from somebody unless it is a relative or you are risking this happening to you.

Of course, in sports like basketball and football, odds are pretty good that your family isn't going to be in a position to give you a bunch of money.

That's why a new car raises a red flag - then again, I'm not sure when agents became evil or detract from the game - what, are they gonna tell their clients to throw a game?

Can folks majoring the theatre get agents? Or are they student-actors?

$5 Guinness pints are a good deal?

Drink a Bud Light, it might supposedly taste like water but it has more booze and tastes less like sh*t than Guinness.

Geez, Marqettes coach can no longer speak

5 dollar guinness=every day price at a bar so most likely not even a deal

C'mon now Badgers. None of this drought crap.

That's how he always sounds after a game. Add to it, the fact that he chews tobacco (pretty sure that's what I saw when I met the team), and his voice will probably sound like that regularly.

Heh. Buddy and I went to a bar the other day. He went to go fetch a pitcher and comes back with Keystone Light. Probably been 15 years at least since I'd had one, and have been living mostly on microbrews the past 6 or 7 years. It really does taste like water. I felt like going out driving in the country and throwing stuff at road signs.

Not where I live. The price of a normal beer is 6 usually.

I know of 3 NCAA athletes that I grew up with that were investigated by the NCAA because their parents had used money that they saved for them to go to school with to buy them newish cars because they didn't have to spend it on tuition. 2 of them were black basketball players that went to Eastern Illinois and one was a white baseball player that went to Mississippi State. The two basketball player's parents put up with the NCAA and let them root through their personal finances to prove nothing improper was done mainly because the guys were Freshman and wanted to stay on scholarship. The guy who played baseball was in his junior year when they came for him and he and his family told the NCAA to go fark off and he was suspended for the end of the season, but he didn't care because he went pro when the season was over..
