ravnostic: Congrats, oddmind!! The first win is exciting, isn't it? Excellent creativity with the theme.
ravnostic: Elsinore: American Decency Association: i should have read the rest of the thread 1st/call the contest "out of your depth" or something instead, cause there's plenty of lovely shots//rules is rulesOther comments in the thread further explained bokeh, particularly sleeping's comment. I don't see any entries that have broken the rules. Bokeh does not require bright/obvious out of focus disks; the word simply means "blur" in Japanese. Some helpful links for those who want to read more: Wikipedia's entry on Bokeh (new window)Ken Rockwell's article on bokeh (new window)At this point, I'd invite anyone wanting to discuss bokeh/the theme itself to move the discussion to either the Farktography forum on Fark (new window) or the forums on farktography.net (new window) so the thread doesn't get further clogged up with commentary.+11ty to this.
American Decency Association: such a nice little clique here isn't it
MyStIcMaRa: I think most of you are assholes though, so......./lonely trombone
Curious: Elsinore please turn voting on here (new window)thanks
ravnostic: Bejebus, I hate flickr--theirs are the only images that keep showing up this way for me:
ravnostic: it happens
ravnostic: All I know is it happens at home, but not work, for the past two weeks (well I'm guessing not at work; I'll find out shortly when I head in). Very annoying--doesn't affect every one, for me, but the majority--and some don't load at all. Same ones, same way, no mater how many times I ctrl+f5
Elsinore: [quiet reminder about taking off-topic cross talk to the forum...]
U-Man: Elsinore: [quiet reminder about taking off-topic cross talk to the forum...]I know, I know. I almost did that right off the bat. I should have./hangs head in shame...
Elsinore: Congrats to kestrana on her "Barren Macro" win this week!
oddmind: This time, my excuse for not clicking on voting was that I was fighting with Fark over the file size. Sorry it's the best one I've got. Can I get voting on those two, please? The Maze and the Foggy Road.
oddmind: Elsinore: Congrats to kestrana on her "Barren Macro" win this week!Gorgeous opaque colors, kestrana! Did you have any trouble with splash damage? U-Man, you've got me out searching for photogenic webs in the wee hours. And to complete the trifecta of liquid-y goodness, ravnostic, I was really pulling for your faucet to overtake my penny. Excellent in every way.
libranoelrose: Hey Yugoboy, that pic of the canals is awesome!Voted for many others as well.Keep up the great work, guys/gals!
Yugoboy: Can I ask a favor of anybody? I don't have a QR code reader, and my administrator says the code I generated for my blog doesn't work. Can I get a confirmation?
sleeping: Yugoboy:Can I ask a favor of anybody? I don't have a QR code reader, and my administrator says the code I generated for my blog doesn't work. Can I get a confirmation? It looks like there are spaces in the URL that are causing problems. You can actually see that in the link you posted, where its saying: .edubl o gs.org
Elsinore: Congrats to oddmind for the "Pathways" win this week!
ravnostic: U-Man Maisy is as cute as ever!! Nice shot.
plamadude30k: Aha! I was thinking it was off camera with grazing incidence light passing through the tines and falling just in front of the spoon with another light above the scene to wash out the rest of the shadow. I think your way looks better than my idea would.
Yugoboy: I need voting enabled for THIS^ OBO for Farktographer.(I'll be asking at farktography.net, too)
