I dunno... Biden would probably surprise us all (in a good way) if he became President by accident. He has a lot of the same attitude that Gates had as Sec'y of Defense: "I really don't care what you think of me, so I'll say what I want." Gates was possibly one of the best modern Secretaries of Defense.

Yes, call me a troll, because I couldn't possibly have a different opinion than you.

Yet, here you care calling people butthurt for having a different opinion than yours... Your opinion was basically, "Nuh uh!" without anything backing it up. I know that this is fairly common for Republicanists to do and it goes down very well with their fellow low information party members. However, it doesn't fly very well outside of the middle school playground.

That's not what that means...

PunchDrunkPanda: Bin Laden added that it was nothing personal against President Obama, and the decision was "strictly business."

Maybe Obama could have Mullah Omar talk to bin Laden? Get him off the hook for old times' sake?

Biden is comedy gold (new window). People used to make up things about Bush that Biden has actually said.

The two best are the ones about not being able to understood in a 7-11 without speaking with a slight Indian accent, but even better is the one where he's asking the state senator in a wheel chair to stand up.

Leeds: Joe Biden has been a wonderful VP for President Obama. He has served his purpose perfectly and will likely be Obama's running mate the next time as well.

Of course the purpose he serves is that of an insurance policy. He's literally the most unintelligent person on capital hill and EVERYONE knows it. Obama might be running this country straight into the ground but no maniac is going to off him because Joe Biden would be far worse. Even the homicidal nutbags recognize this.

Biden- The Human Insurance policy.

You base that on what, exactly? I've spent more than a little time on Capitol Hill and the consensus on BIden I'd always heard was that he was the Senate's most respected expert on foreign policy. In fact there was a very strong rumor circulating in '08 that if McCain won, he was going to tap Biden as his Secretary of State

GAT_00: In other news, we are now accepting the opinion of Osama bin Laden as valid.

??? You're kidding.

Many people on fark have for years now, and have made that highly well known. Every single tape Osama released about how America is the great Satan and how we brought 9/11 on ourselves etc, seemed to resonate with a certain political segment of fark. Fark would have huge threads about how Osama is 100% correct, with a solid core of fark usernames, (all of a particular political ideology), that never once disagreed with anything Osama ever said.

Yeah this. If he thought Biden was unprepared then he must have thought much worse of babe-in-the-woods Obama.

Yep, they still exist. Anyone can go back to the dates when bin Laden released tapes and statements and look at the fark threads. It aint that hard. I invite you to do so. And I am confident you will see I am 100% correct. Sorry. :( We've been through years of those threads. I think it's funny someone would try to deny it, now.

brantgoose: The Vice President has two jobs.

The lesser of the two is casting the deciding vote in the event of a tie in the Senate. The other, more important job, is being such a schmuck that Americans are dissuaded from killing their President. When an Enemy of America of the calibre of OBL wants your boss dead so you can take over, you've done your job exceedingly well. Good job, Joey! Good job!

He's not as dumb as he looks, but then people said the same thing about Dubya.

That's ALWAYS supposed to be true of a Veep. That's why Cheney was such a dreadful VP: He was actually the quality of person that, had Bush died in office, Cheney could have been an excellent (if evil) President. It was only because Darth Cheney stayed so firmly in his Death Star that that never happened.

The VP's job is always to be invisible and to stay healthy in case something bad happens to the President. It should never be to be intelligent, visible and indispensible.

But you aren't going to do it now? Too hard? Internet broke?

I find it hard to believe that a number of non-troll posters agreed with 100% of what Osama said (what you claimed earlier).

The thought that an active foreign policy may lead to unappreciated/unexpected consequences, on the other hand, was probably a very common belief. One that is hard to argue against.

Now I bet you want me to read them for you and project the content into your brain remotely.

BTW - look up the threads about Chavez's nutbag rants. You'll see a good bit of overlap with the political ideology of farkers who agreed with much of what he had to say.

And because he would *NEVER* be re-elected, he can focus on the one term he has, rather than re-election.

With any luck, he's got the grail already.

My personal theory is that Obama picked Biden because he knew a lot of people would want to kill him. Biden's his human shield. People would be all like "Man, I hate Obama and all, but I'm not going to kill him because President Biden would be worse!"

/the only flaw is that the people most likely to kill Obama are totally batshiat insane

A lot of shots at Palin in this thread. Just for some perspective, a survey was done that indicated over half the people who voted for Obama are so stupid that they could not tell the difference between Sarah Palin and Tina Fey and actually thought Palin said that she could see Russia from her house. In fact reading this thread, it sounds like we got some of the same idiots here.

And just for the record there are parts of Russia which you can see from Alaska. That is what Palin said and it just so happens to be true.

But that isn't what she meant, and so it is irrelevant that it happens to be true in the sense that standing on an island in the middle of the Bering Sea you can see the tip of the Kamchatka Peninsula.
