Came to make a remark about how anyone who waits in line and wastes so much of their precious life for a useless product is an idiot.

But he seems like a genuinely nice guy. So I'd feel bad.

/anyone else who's doing it though...
//you're an idiot

We ordered ours and had a dozen of them delivered to the office today.

Who the fark wants to wait in line for this kind of thing?

He did not /have/ to.

This isn't the first time he's waited in line like the rest of the schlubs for the newest Apple gizmo. You would think he could've kept a friend or two in the Corporation whom would send him one every time an upgrade is released.

This story gets ponied out every time that a new iDevice comes out. Woz doesn't HAVE to wait for it, He LIKES to do it. He enjoys the party atmosphere and being with like-minded gadget-philes.

If I had to choose who I'd prefer as a boss, I'd definitely pick the Woz over Steve Jobs when he was alive.

Uh Smitty.....Woz always waits in line at the same mall for every iPhone or iPad release. It's a bit of a tradition now.

Exactly this. We Farked over the same story when it was "Even Steve Wozniak had to wait in line for the new iPhone 4S"

Didn't even have to wait in line. One was delivered by pre-order. Then decided to get one for my son who just completed yet another quarter on the high honors roll.

Walked into Best Buy at 11 a.m. No one there buying ipads. Had my choice of every configuration. Walked out half an hour later with a new ipad.

/BB sales guy said they had a ton of people right at opening, and had more than enough units to cover everyone. Expecting another crowd during lunch hour

Most enlightening read last year were the Steve Jobs biography and iWoz, Wozniak's autobiography, back to back.

That photo made me hate Apple fanboys even more.

But I did own an iPod for about a month. It turned into a dust collector, so it ended up on eBay. Don't miss it. Don't intend on purchasing another tablet.

That's Android that can do things over wireless. iStuff requires a physical attachment.

Wozniak is amazingly great.

Apple is basically designed to suck money out of the pockets of Americans and into the Swiss bank-accounts of the wealthy. Most branding is.

It actually hurts the entire economy when you pay extra for a product because of the logo. It actually hurts. It's money that could have created jobs by buying a generic product and spending the savings on additional goods and services, thus enriching us all.

/Thanks Apple.

Semi-seriously, I would like to start an Al Gore like carbon offset fund but call it Apple offsets. Theaetetus, do you want in on this? Can I get a patent for Apple offsets, or does describing it in this forum negate that?

But we go around and see Apple Offsets to folks like Theaetetus, except human, and with souls and consciences, and use 75% of that money to provide better living conditions to Apple slave laborers, and we spend the other 25% on ourselves in the Bahamas.

This allows people to buy their Apple products and feel better about themselves. And we are able to help people make Apple products and live better. And the profits help me feel better about myself (with cocaine and a hooker's ass.)

Here I am offering you a ground floor opportunity to get in an Apple Offsets, and you go and claim that you've been able to wirelessly sync your iStuff since 1992 all while confirming you wouldn't buy Apple Offsets to mitigate your enjoyment of the products of slave labor.

2012-03-16 02:15:01 PM
Woz is still technically an Apple employee and because he's Woz they automatically send him a quantity of every new product. When he gets home from the line there will be another one in a shipping carton waiting for him, if he didn't get it early.

Yes, that's exactly what I claimed. You can tell because those exact words - "I've been able to wirelessly sync my iStuff since 1992" - appear in my previous post. Also, what appears to be a cartoon of someone rolling their eyes was really a cartoon of someone looking up in awe at my awesome post of awesomeness.

You were so quick to chime in about all of those X-Box assembly workers who threatened to jump off the roof at Foxconn a couple months ago... oh wait! You don't care about any of the dozen companies you buy from that use Foxconn, why is it only Apple is worthy of a crusade? You being such an idealist and all...

This seems to be a non sequitur.

How is my selling Apple Offsets, writing how Theatetus bragging about his enjoyment of the products of slave labor, and my noting that Apple afficionados would form an eager and ready market for slave labor offsets contradictory to my writing a few months back that I have a murderphone too (just mine is Android.)?

Since I propose selling Apple Offsets and using the funds to better the slave laborers lives, I am not sure why you think I am somehow being hypocritical.

I would say that Theaetetus and his buds would jump on Apple Offsets, but that of course they would be sold to anyone who wants to buy them. It's called opening the market with an easily understood product.

If I just sold slave labor offsets and admonished all of America to buy them, no one would.

If we market these at first specifically to Apple purchasers, then being the uber think different green sensitive intelligent and fashion conscious consumers they are, they will all understand and hop in.

So, I'm not sure I understand your point.

No one has to stand in line for one. There are plenty for everyone. Some dorks choose to waste their time waiting in line so they can get one a little bit before everyone else. And that's ok. Their time was worthless anyway.

Yes, that makes sense.

You respond to a post I make to someone else entirely, we snark back and forth a bit, relatively equally with no real hits from either, and suddenly you're going with the creepy sexual stalker bit that I have some crush on you.

Makes about as much sense as the usual white knighting and attribution of creepy sexual motives to males that you are known for at FARK.

So continue, white knight! A farkette will come by soon to lay you!

I have to admit, with suddenly over 50 eyeballs, I am thinking heavily of purchasing an iPad to be used as Kindle. I'd be more interested if I could buy that display and junk all the ADD crap that would otherwise keep me from reading (and if it were lighter). And it's competition is the Transformer Infinity coming out next month for about the same price, but yeah, I am very impressed with the iPad's screen.

I'd probably pick one up if I could buy some Apple Offsets.

Emphasis on the part that describes your post perfectly. Your guarantee is based only on your iHate, and it shows. Back it up with real figures or go back to stamping your tiny feet in impotent iRage. Remember your original claim is that these are all iPad 2 owners, not just iPad owners.
