tigerose: Konekosama haa! Your news made me late back to work on Monday. They forgave me when they heard...

Welcome to the World Kitty Beth. You are so lucky! You get to grow up in a home where your parents have shown their love to each other, and to the animals they've accepted into their lives. You will be able to see and feel their love, and hopefully the live of their furry first kids.

It makes me think of when we brought our son Simon home from the Hospital. Our Blue Point Siamese Biko (the cat that jumped into the aquarium) immediately appointed himself guardian of the small hooman (we obviously were too incompetent to adequately care for him) and whenever Simon would cry Biko would run up to me and positively GLARE at me demanding swift action. Biko spent most of his time within 5 feet of Simon at all times "supervising" until Simon got crawly and tail pully hehehe Good times! =]

sherpa18: Monkey2: Never posted in a Caturday thread so here's a pic of my cat stealing my water. I guess her head wouldn't fit in the glass. She has always preferred a glass to her water bowl, I think it's because the water is cold.

I sympathize with you, Dragon does the same thing to me. I can't help but laugh when he takes the straw out with his teeth and throws it on the floor to get it out of his way.

[i415.photobucket.com image 350x466]

/ btw, if you really want to piss her off, try one of those insulated coffee mugs with the sliding top
// please note that i do not accept any liability as to what injuries you may incur after doing so
/// welcome to the zoo

I can relate 100%. My cat Pippin would knock any glass of water over within seconds (I swear!) if I left the glass unattended. Truman the gigantic black cat will just stick his paw daintily in and then lick it off (but since he has a penchant for toilet fishing I frown upon that too). I haven't given McLovin the chance to display his water glass proclivities yet, I have taken to keeping 4 1 liter plastic water bottles that I fill with 2 inches of water and put in the freezer and then I can have ice water all the time and more importantly a LID. kekekeke

Knowing McLovin he would slowly slide the glass across my desk and then uncerimoniously dump it directly into my keyboard...

This is our little baby Yoshi 6 years ago.
About 1 year ago we noticed that he was having sinus problems. After extensive tests we figured out it was a lymphoma. We had to let him go two days before Christmas, 2011. It's taken this long to be able to go through the photos and post some. He was our little buddy and we miss him profoundly.

What a gorgeous little face! He looks very mischievious!! =]

AlienDandelion: *Quietly enters, pulls herself up on her wooden apple crate*
I have returned...
Many of you will recognize me by my new Fark handle alone...
I hope it meets your approval...

I have been going through what can only be described as epic mustache and hushpuppy levels of "What is this I don't even"...
I have been travelling through every single portal of hell, been drowning in a darkness truly evil and blacker than black and devoid of everything...
Through it I lost my baby Ben Hurr in January (RIP my favorite orange ball of dissaproval), and recently had to give up my heffalump sized Gremlin to his new Kingdom as I found out
I was slowly poisoning him with my body (he was always a groomer and had been slowly ingesting the chemo and other drugs coming out of my pores).
Even though I am truly heartbroken, I take solace that he truly is currently reigning over his new big house that is full of full length mirrors in which he can fully admire his beauty, and be constantly fawned over
by his new master and two seinor cougars named Misty and Snowbell.
I am still in the midst of a current horrifying battle with the C and D.
I am still in the midst of trying to recover after being severely hacked and my complete identity stolen beginning of February, of which there is still a long way to go...
I have pretty much lost everything in a lot of ways...

...but I am slowly pulling myself out of said darkness...

I sincerely want to just shout as loud as this little body can "THANK YOU" to my favorite Caturday Family for the incredible, amazing support and help since shiat went down faster than I could shake my
tassels at.
My thanks can never truly be enough for all that you have done.
It brings tears to my eyes and I have missed you so damn much.

I am so sorry I could not stay in contact these last few months. I had no choice, due to safety for everyone, and strength.
As punishment for me, may the spankings commence.

I want to voice my condolences on the many losses many of you h ...

konekosama: well, it was an interesting time over at the hospital. we barely made it in time, wish i could have gotten hubby to move a bit faster that morning so i would have had time to set myself up properly in the room.
he told you all the important details about the birth of Catherine Elizabeth but he also left out the fun parts.
i had really wanted to do the delivery on my own but kitty's heart rate dropped during the contractions so a doctor was called in with the vacuum. hubby leans over and whispers that this was the last chance before dr interference so i give it one last go. she was luckily born just a few minutes before he came in with the vacuum.
i almost feel bad about the poor phlebotomist who had come in to take a blood sample just as i was ready to push. she was setting up her tray when midwife told her she couldn't set her things up. i was polite enough the first two times she said she needed to draw blood. my response was not during these contractions. the third time i wasn't so nice and said she wasn't coming near me with the damn needles until after the baby was born. the midwife said that was a very clear no and the poor woman was stuck in a corner til they were all done with me. i went along peacefully and let them poke me with needles and do whatever they wanted.
and so pics of Kitty Beth and real cats too.

The Ice Queen: Welcome Back Alien!

So I brought Dewey home from the Vet today. He was stable and we figured we might as well try to get him to eat at home. I didn't get him to take some chicken flavored baby food earlier so I guess its a start. Keep your fingers and paws crossed for him. We were also thinking about getting one of those rotisserie chickens from Kroger tomorrow night for supper. That's like crack cocaine for him.

Still not sure what's up with him, we won't get the one test back until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest :(

Maggiesmom: I haz a sad. Our senior cat Elizabeth died last week. She was only 12 and we had hoped to have her for another 6-7 years.
[farm8.staticflickr.com image 400x500]">

We got Elizabeth aka Lil Bit as a young kitten from a shelter. We entered the shelter intending to adopt an adult cat. When we entered the room with the cats, the adults sort of milled around and pretty much ignored us but this tiny kitten came running across the room jumped up on my pants and climbed to my shoulder and started purring. She then went to my husband's arms, looked up at him and purred. That was it she had chosen us.

She bonded strongly on my husband knowing his mood and health status at all times and did everything she could to ensure that he was in top form (whether that was lying on top of him to keep him in bed when he was sick or holding paws if he was sad).

Actually, that was one of the favorite bumper stickers I ever saw. And just so you can really put this all in context I live by the phrase "every day above ground is a good day". ;D
