1. The world population is growing uncomfortably high for my liking
2. Smokers make up a good chunk of the population
3. It seems that smokers are largely useless people, hell, they are of the weaker-gened variety.. otherwise, how do you explain their desire to even start smoking? (this applies to anyone under the age of 55)
4. I'd rather not have the Idiocrasy population running around spreading their weak genes and poor choice making habits
5. Poison all cigarettes, immediate death upon smoking...failing death, at LEAST immediate impotency.
6. Take all the finances/materials of the newly dead, and repurpose them
7. Profit!

--it really doesn't matter what the labels say.. morans will still smoke.

Non-smokers lose their shiat over e-cigs too. I say stick with the real thing and make them all as uncomfortable and enraged as possible.

My cut-off is $7 bucks a pack. They go that high, I'm done. And considering they're like $9 a pack in places like NYC it's only a matter of time.

That was actually my plan a few weeks ago... i decided not to even say i was "quitting smoking," just that i was "switching to e cigs". I fully intended to get chocolate or some other fancy flavor. But first i started on a cheap disposable one... three weeks later i realized i hadnt had a drag of the vapor for almost a week. i went to get a new one and just didnt want it.

/dammit, i'm a quitter.

Marlboro 100s are 10 bucks where I live. When that happened, I switched to a pipe. It tastes better and is way cheaper. Best decision I ever made.

Well, it is, as long as you don't smoke, smolder, or give off fumes while alight.

Smokers are good for health care costs and the economy. They tend to die quickly and often right around the age of retirement. It is the non-smokers who tend to require long-term medicines and soak up all the SS money, while they wander around retirement homes doing producing nothing.

Of course, it would be even cheaper to just shoot everyone over the age of 40.

2012-03-15 12:38:30 PM
Smokers also pay more taxes than anyone else.

My roomate smokes. One night I got home and caught her and her friends smoking inside. Drove me nuts. I dont mind they smoke just outside, I dont care how cold or rainy it is. I dont want my home smelling like stale old cigarettes. Smokers cant smell that non smokers can.

2012-03-15 12:39:21 PM
I finally asked my doctor about the little oxygen thing they put on your finger. Mine is about 96-98% and they said that is about average. I was asking them is it is ever lower then 90% and the nurse said "Oh yeah. Chronic smokers usually register in the low 80s and I've even seen one in the 70s". That was a major WTF moment for me and I was glad I quit smoking three years ago.

"Tobacco taxes and smoking bans haven't budged the U.S. smoking rate in years."

And here was the only line I really had to read to determine whether this article is worth the read- and they even did me the courtesy of making it the first line.

Spoilers: it isn't.

Tobacco taxes are meant to lower the smoking rate, eh?

Mr. Parker: Great use of 54 million tax dollars, these haven't worked in the past they will not work now.

But haven't smoking rates been collapsing? what evidence do you have that they don't work? Because what I've seen is that cancer deaths, and the money that would go to treat them ( a hell of a lot more than 54 million) have finally started to fall in large part to anti-smoking campaigns from the past.

2012-03-15 12:48:15 PM

I got an eGo-T MEGA last week and a bottle of maple syrup flavored juice. Haven't had an analog since. I highly recommend the switch, even if just for the money savings. I was previously a 1.5 pack a day smoker and now use about .5ml of juice a day. At $15.00 per 30ml bottle it's a huge savings.

No murderous ones. Some really vivid mind bending ones, but no nightmares. I've been on it 3 weeks and I seem to have avoided the especially crazy side-effects. It's honestly been the easiest time I've ever had quitting. Obviously that's not true for everyone who tries Chantix, but it is for me.

2012-03-15 12:56:22 PM
Anti smoking campaigns are not designed to succeed. They are designed to give them an excuse to raise the cigarette tax. As soon as the campaign shows any sign of possible success it's cancelled to protect the revenue stream.

Anyone that tells you any different is willfully ignorant or a liar.
