You can't even answer simple questions. So sad.

Dr. Mojo PhD:
You'd have to consult Jim's UFO cult Bible, the Urantia Book, to sway him.

I just KNOW I can count on you to miss the point, and lie your ass off. But, hey, thanks for the shout out!

Well, we could all follow suit, so we don't have one lone attention-whore stealing notice from informed posts. Why, this should be the default color.

This thread is remarkably shorter with certain persons ignored. Indeed, it's astounding.

Not every lone voice crying in the wilderness has a grasp on some horrible truth that the rest of us mere mortals have so far scoffed at or been unable to perceive. Some of them are just crackpot whackjobs.

Uchiha_Cycliste: Isn't it nice he's found a way to win an argument?

He's winning it with SCIENCE*!

GeneralJim: Once again, science begins to catch up with the Urantia Book:

(2024.1) 189:2.8 The mortal remains of Jesus underwent the same natural process of elemental disintegration as characterizes all human bodies on earth except that, in point of time, this natural mode of dissolution was greatly accelerated, hastened to that point where it became well-nigh instantaneous.

That is indeed from this part of the Urantia Book. Other highlights include:

This section on the Supreme Trinity Personalities who rule the billion worlds of Havona.

Each of the billion worlds of Havona is directed by a Supreme Trinity Personality. These rulers are known as the Eternals of Days, and they number exactly one billion, one for each of the Havona spheres. They are the offspring of the Paradise Trinity, but like the Secrets of Supremacy there are no records of their origin. Forever have these two groups of all-wise fathers ruled their exquisite worlds of the Paradise-Havona system, and they function without rotation or reassignment.

This section, dealing with the comings and goings of the Violet Race after the Days of Adam

(868.2) 78:0.2 This paper depicts the planetary history of the violet race, beginning soon after the default of Adam, about 35,000 B.C., and extending down through its amalgamation with the Nodite and Sangik races, about 15,000 B.C., to form the Andite peoples and on to its final disappearance from the Mesopotamian homelands, about 2000 B.C.

This section, dealing with the Physical Aspects of the Local Universe

(455.1) 41:0.1 THE characteristic space phenomenon which sets off each local creation from all others is the presence of the Creative Spirit. All Nebadon is certainly pervaded by the space presence of the Divine Minister of Salvington, and such presence just as certainly terminates at the outer borders of our local universe. That which is pervaded by our local universe Mother Spirit is Nebadon; that which extends beyond her space presence is outside Nebadon, being the extra-Nebadon space regions of the superuniverse of Orvonton - other local universes.

And you might wonder, does Jim's bizarre UFO cult beliefs inform his position on global warming? ABSOLUTELY!

Here's this section, dealing with the atmosphere of Urantia [this is the Urantists' name for Earth]:

P665:6, 58:2.3 And yet some of the less imaginative of your mortal mechanists insist on viewing material creation and human evolution as an accident. The Urantia midwayers have assembled over fifty thousand facts of physics and chemistry which they deem to be incompatible with the laws of accidental chance, and which they contend unmistakably demonstrate the presence of intelligent purpose in the material creation. And all of this takes no account of their catalogue of more than one hundred thousand findings outside the domain of physics and chemistry which they maintain prove the presence of mind in the planning, creation, and maintenance of the material cosmos.

P666:1, 58:2.4 Your sun pours forth a veritable flood of death-dealing rays, and your pleasant life on Urantia is due to the "fortuitous" influence of more than two-score apparently accidental protective operations similar to the action of this unique ozone layer.

Put quite simply, Urantia does not permit "mortal mechanists" to destroy Space God's perfect creation. The atmosphere was not an accident, or chance, or anything like that. It is God's absolute design, and pathetic meat machines like us (living, as we are, in a corner of the then-easterly region of Orvonton (this was a trillion years ago, though, we may have moved since then)) have no hope of undoing the creation of the Order of Michaels and the Ancients of Days.

Srsly, when will science ever catch up to that?
*caution: use of the word science is not meant to represent actual science

GeneralJim: Well, I suppose your doctorate in Voodoo Chicken Buggery WOULD make you an expert...

GeneralJim: Gotta love desperately vicious personal attacks. It certainly proves I'm pissing off the right assholes.

Dr. Mojo PhD: Or, like all insane people, is your internal morality such that whatever behaviour is convenient for your argument is the ethics du jour for you?

Jim is nothing if not predictable in his use of pathological and immature defence mechanisms. Insanity always is.

Hey, you forgot to put the times on all those posts. I have a question: Does it HURT to be a psychotic stalker?

So, I lost three consecutive games of chess today at work to my co-worker and friend X. I was upset with him, especially since I NEARLY had him in the last game. Now, if X were to walk into my office one day, drop trou and urinate all over me and my machines, I'd be upset also. Next time I'll be sure to double check with you what I can and can't say to people. Hey, is it ok if I tell Chuthlu (in the Love craft thread) that he never comes when I chant for him? Or, am I allowed to reply to Dow Jones about his rodent comment? Can you give me some ground rules on when I can and can't talk to others?

Oh I have no compunctions about it, nor do most. Memory + Google is what it is. The only people that flip out over it are the ones who often contradict themselves. We create archives and records specifically to preserve memories and conversations free of the interfering colouration of memories.

Those who have a vested interest in having those records forgotten are the ones who rage when they cannot be. And remembering a turd who shiats up every thread with green text ends up being a useful mnemonic tool, like instantly recognizing the voice of Bobcat Goldthwait or Gilbert Gottfried.

Yup, 3 bowls of cereal, a box and a half of mac and cheese, two tuna sandwiches, 2 candy bars, 2 cans of OJ and some water. My goal was 6 but I'm tired and lazy.

That's fair. If you'll allow me, I'll try to explain. I'm absolutely exasperated with the GOP. They make me angry. If you watch closely I'd say maybe half my posts are earnestly trying to contribute intelligently to the conversations taking place, and half are just venting steam from watching what's happening in this country and feeling powerless. I really am a nice guy though =D. Also, when I lash out at a poster, at least in my mind, I try to only do so to those folks who truly deserve it. The dishonest ones, the ones who prior had gone out of their way to hurt or attack others. The intolerant ones. I feel tolerance of intolerance is no virtue and I have VERY little tolerance for bigots, hate speech, racism, and the like. If I seem too aggressive to you, I suppose all I can do is say I'm sorry what I said was offensive or mean-spirited. I don't like knowing I'm turning people off from our discussions. OTOH, I think FARK has a lot of potential that isn't realized because of a handful of people who's express goals are to upset, mislead and attack others. It saddens me to see how much better FARK could be, but isn't.

Now, by all means you don't have to either approve or agree with how I approach things, but can you understand where I am coming from?

My weight is pretty wacky. I weigh somewhere between 170 and 190 on any given day and I can swing over 13 lbs in either direction in 24 hours. Back in July I had to go to the doctor everyday for 3 weeks to take care of an abscess on my ass from a bike crash. So I got to watch my weight and my BP fluctuate every day. One day I was 186 at the DR office and 173 the next day. I also eat a lot and ride a lot.
This summer when I get back into heavy miles I'll be riding 45-60 miles M-F and eating 5-6K calories a day =D

I hadn't realized it until just now, but the Somali pirate raids are happening at the same time that temperatures have reached a short-term plateau.

Uchiha_Cycliste:
We get pissed when people lie. Why do you have to be such a liar? I mean, I have you Favorited as lies, insults, projects. And you've never failed to deliver. Do you like being such an intolerable asshole? Are you proud of the fact no one likes you?

Now that is just WEIRD. I have you favorited the very same way! Well, I have "hypocrite," too, but other than that...

Add to that that we look alike (except I either have a full beard or none, and don't have piercings) and this is spooky.

And, yes, I am proud of the people who don't like me, ALMOST as much as I am proud of the people who do like me. Jerks who don't like me are generally people who expect better treatment from people than they are willing to give. I mean, look up the thread. With all the impotent rage expressed here, I could gut your asses if we met, and call it even.

Do you think of yourself as the kind of person who is hate-filled? I'd bet you don't. So, what's this all about then? I don't agree with you. Are you REALLY that petty? I have tons of friends, and I disagree with each of them on several things at least. But, you Fark jerks are different. If somebody doesn't agree with you hate them, and (here's the weird part) if they can back up their point, you hate them all the more.

On the AGW issue, as an example, I know that AGW is falsified, by simple application of scientific principles. There are a ton of papers showing that the climate is simply not as sensitive to carbon dioxide as it needs to be to cause the pants-wetting numbers proposed by the IPCC. Pointing that out gets one called a young Earth creationist. Really? And then, the very same jackasses get all butthurt if they get an insult back. Boo hoo.

If someone discusses things politely with me, they get polite responses. And, every now and then, I am MORE polite than whoever I'm conversing with ... like now, for instance. It usually doesn't help, and, I have to admit, it can be a lot of fun to be exchanging insults, at least if the other person has a bit of imagination. But, that is another common trait among, I have to say it, all you far-left atheist types: not enough sense of humor to notice. Making mean-spirited fun of anyone who doesn't parrot the same talking points you do is as close as most of you come.

I mean, seriously... Just look up the thread. Such hate-filled, bad-spirited, and in some cases goddam mentally unstable bullshiat. I've always hated the use of the word "liberal" to mean someone who is a leftist. "Liberal" means accepting of others, irrespective of their beliefs, and willing to listen to others. Far leftists are the least liberal people I know. And, as Richard Jenni said, leftists are all for freedom of speech, unless you say something that pisses them off. Then they're all about shutting down anyone who doesn't agree with them.

So, are you a big enough person to set aside what certainly appears to be hate for someone you don't know well enough to hate? Or not? I don't know you well enough to know if you are or not. I'm actively curious. But, I can either engage in rational conversation, or throw insults with nearly equal enjoyment. I'll leave it up to you as to which will characterize our exchanges.

A 20 pound swing during any 24 hour period is indicative of a serious athlete who is cutting weight.

If you're doing that on a regular basis it's gonna have an effect on the way you're expressing yourself.

Thanks for the insight and observations. I had no idea my posting style varies so much to warrant notice. Further, if I did notice, I'd never have guessed my exercise and diet habits would be tied to it, though I can see how now. Thanks for the insight!

WRT cycling, barring serious injury and illness (or rest days) this/that is typical of my exercise regimen. Though I ride more in the summer than the winter. I live 20 miles from work and don't own a car, so my bike gets a lot of love out of necessity. Fortunately I absolutely love riding my bike so it all works out. Best of all, I've started climbing again (finally) as of the last month and a half, so my food demand are higher than normal as I work on increasing my power output, both intensity and duration. Right now I can average over 300 watts for over 30 min, at a cadence of 80, climbing 1500 feet =D

As far as food is concerned, I try to eat a lot, and I watch my weight so that I can know when it's time to eat or drink more than I was intending. I'd say I eat a lot because I must, and I can't imagine I ever over-eat (I don't even know if I can).

Yes, honestly. He shows behaviour -- years-long consistent, fossilized behaviour that goes beyond the occasional "bad day" or short fuse we all have from time to time -- of having a personality disorder. The pathological lying, the narcissistic rage, the mirroring (copying others' tones, behaviours, and arguments), the negative narcissistic supply (confrontation-seeking), the projection, the paranoia, attention-seeking behaviour (all-bold, signed posts evolving into green text posts), the persecution/victim complex (believing that other people who share a common interest as him, in this case global warming, even if they're on the opposite side of the argument, must be "stalking" him), the distortion campaign (the previous "stalker" belief is used to attempt to silence people, only Jim is allowed to consistently post in AGW threads, if you so much as voice an opinion on a common shared interest from the other side of the argument, you are guilty of some vague, undefined moral turpitude), even the cult adherence with this Urantia bullshiat, which I've only recently found out about, is consistent with this.

If it's an act, the guy is some sort of accredited mental health professional familiar with personality disorders who has invested years of his life into portraying just such a person. And if that's the case, then it's still indicative of insanity, it's just that, unlike most PD'd individuals who use a mask of sanity to hide their insane behaviour, he uses false insanity to mask his real insanity, which is even more farking insane.

I think he's insane.

Honestly? And you think it's not an act?

I can see where you are coming from, and I guess I'll have to stop giving him the benefit of the doubt. For some reason it's kinda painful; I feel bad about it. But I'm not in team insane, instead of team trolling/act.

Those usually last until they get into an argument with themselves.

Don't worry, it's because you have a conscience. The guy needs help coping with his rage, thin skin, and paranoia -- not a soapbox for it.

So, honestly what do you think? Is he a dick, or really that ignorant?

If it's an act he deserves an Oscar, an Emmy, and maybe a People's Choice award too. And whatever comedians win.

I guess I always gave him the benefit of the doubt, that he was acting. I thin I'll reconsider.

He's also melted down a few times when pushed hard enough. If he's an actor, he's extremely convincing. But I think Dr. Mojo has him pegged about exactly right.
