Gingrich is openly talking about a brokered convention at this point. Sweet.

Sabyen91: apoptotic: Newt, people keep telling you that you guaranteeing $2.50 gas is impossible because.....it's impossible, you tool.

Holy crap, his speech is so full of shiat.

At least it's not full of santorum.

2012-03-13 11:06:07 PM
Jimmy is going to go out and get his share of ass, Newt?

2012-03-13 11:06:10 PM
Corvus: 2wolves: Alabama still has 11 counties showing less than 1% reporting.

Is this normal?

It's Alabama they have 2 guys who can do math in the whole state.

And they're both in Huntsville at the NASA facility.

dahmers love zombie: Newt Gingrich is what stupid people think a smart person sounds like.

Can't be repeated enough.

THIS - One is not smart because of intonation. They are not smart because they tell you their ideas are smart or great. They are also not smart because they think they are smart.

2012-03-13 11:06:26 PM
Bobby and Jimmy are going bass fishin', y'all!

Newt's just babbling now.

*facepalm*

Could Newt be a Weird Al fan?

Newt is taking donations from unemployed people? He should give the money back.

Sabyen91: bulok: rynthetyn: MSNBC is having way too much fun with the Santorum jokes.

Just about the level of maturity you'd expect from them

Oh, it is the Palin white knight.

I'm not white knighting. it just gets so old. The derpers are always the loudest. When it was Obama it was the birthers and the secret muslims. Now since there's nothing they can really say about Santorum they resort to schoolyard "Teeheee Santorum means frothy penis juice".

It just gets so old. Or I'm just getting too old for the Internet. Guess you hit 30 and you get all mature and shiat, you start expecting some level of maturity in a politics thread.

Hey I think RMoney could get the black vote because he could use the same pitch he did for NASCAR and football teams. "I have lots of friends who own black people."

So, that is Gingrich's strategy now.... I'm staying in because Romney won't get 50% of the delegates and I can come out on top at Thunderdome?

Hi, welcome to the Internet. Would you like your bag of dicks now or later?

2012-03-13 11:09:33 PM
Gingrich is talking about an unemployed dude with cancer, who took $2.50 out of his savings account to donate to him.

Wow. That's really, really repulsive.

2012-03-13 11:09:33 PM
I wonder if it's too late to switch parties here in CA, so I can vote in the GOP primary.

GAT_00: Gingrich staying in? Then Romney is still the nominee, but we're going to go through all the primaries. Romney ought to be happy Utah votes last and is winner take all right about now.

I kinda hope we won't go through all the states. A big GOP turnout at the NC primaries would probably mean that gay marriage ban amendment passing.

No it's not. Semen is nowhere in the definition of Santorum.

ImpendingCynic: GAT_00: CNN now shows Gingrich ahead of Santorum in MS.

Really? 538 is still at 57% in, Santorum up by 2000 votes.

Wow, sorry folks, I was in the middle of a painfully long phone call, and wrote that too quickly. I meant Gingrich was ahead of Romney in MS. At that moment on cnn.com, he was only about 1000 votes short of Santorum. It's not nearly as close now.

Looks like I was FWD (Farking While Distracted).

Shame on you. You should never Internet while distracted.

2012-03-13 11:11:30 PM
One of the CNN pundits just said Newt "has always had a...not very close personal relationship with reality". I guess that pundit won't be getting his share of $2.50/gal gas on the moon.

That is... that actually makes me sick to my stomach.

The fact that he can sit there and talk about that dude like it's heroic choice instead of vowing to try and make that dude's life better is just... slimy. That's the Republican party right there. We'll take every last time you poor people have, FOR AMERICA.

*shudder*

Let's be honest. The only reason Romney wants to be president is to help in his mission to *kill Sarah Connor*!

culebra: Has there ever been a less efficient primary campaign, (in terms of dollars-per-delegate), than Romney's?

In case it hasn't been said: Rudy 2008. One fewer delegate won than Duncan Hunter. Who's Duncan Hunter? A complete asshole who won a single delegate in a tiny Wyoming county.

And this year Thunderdome is in Tampa, FL. Considering some of the wonderful contributions that area of the state has made to the Florida tag, I think it's fitting.

I think it'll be awesome if there's a brokered convention and all of the mental incompetents who show up decide their White Knight is none of the people who ran -- it's Sarah Palin. That'll be frakkin' awesome.

If only it was in St. Pete back when Tropicana Field was still called the Thunderdome. That would be an extra special dose of awesome.

2wolves: 2008 GOP primary in Alabama 552,155 total votes
2008 GOP primary in Mississippi 588,926 total votes

No way Mississippi will break 300k votes this year.

Enthusiasm is sucking. Good.

With 96% reporting, you're about right. Came up to about 296k for Miss. That's god damn incredible.

I don't think there's a breakdown-by-CD anywhere, but here's what the at-large delegates look like:

Alabama: Santorum 10, Gingrich 8, Romney 8; 21 district delegates unknown
Mississippi: Santorum 9, Gingrich 8, Romney 8; 12 district delegates unknown

Really sensational victory for ol' Ricky Bobby tonight. He may close TWO PERCENT of his delegate deficit to Mittens.

2012-03-13 11:17:41 PM
The Freeper threads for tonight are fun. They're divided between saying Newt should drop out because he is splitting the real conservative vote and calling Santorum a RINO because he isn't fiscally conservative.

It is too bad that it appears they are having the convention at the NBA/NHL arena (St Pete Times Forum) instead of Tropicana Field, which in the 90s was called.... THUNDERDOME!
