elchip: 2 polls out of all these show Frothy with the lead.

one of them is Ramussen, so.. yeah

the other is USA Today/Gallup, which I'm pretty sure conducts their polls in the pages of Highlights magazine.

bugontherug: Much has been made of some recent poll that showed Santorum beating Obama in the general.

Are you sure you don't mean Romney? He is the one that has the edge in one poll (within the MoE). If Santorum is up in a poll I missed it (which is entirely possible).

PanicMan: So what does this mean? Does anything really change?

If N00t is forced out of the race, it could be a real game changer. And even if he doesn't, Frothy has momentum again: He just won 3 states in a row.

Romney paying him to stay in and siphon off the frothy surge.

The opposite of what the Elite Liberal Big Media says it means.

In a few weeks there's going to be a charity boxing match up here where a Liberal House rep fights a Conservative Senator. I think the GOP should wrap up this race the same way.

badhatharry: Imagine if Newt wasn't in the race. He needs to get the hell out of the way.

Right now he's saying he's in it for the duration. I think a lot of this will depend on whether Adelson keeps throwing money at him though... that's the only thing keeping his campaign afloat.

2012-03-13 11:01:37 PM
So I am getting into this thread late so I don't know much but what I see is R-money in 3rd in both Alabama and Mississippi?

Is that right?

2012-03-13 11:01:47 PM

GAT_00: Ok, so Illinois is up next. Romney ought to win big there. If Santorum comes close, within a couple of percent or even wins outright, then this is a real race. If Santorum can't play in Illinois, then he can't possibly get the nomination.

This also assumes Gingrich drops out. If he stays in, then Romney can still win without much trouble, but will probably need most of the primaries.

dletter: Well, in "Super New England Tuesday" in mid/late April, Romney should do over 50% in every state except PA. So, that will be big for Romney to pad the lead.

Yeah, he'll sweep a bunch of those, but there are some states with Santorum potential before then.

Southern Illinois (Champaign and downward) will turn out for Santorum. The derp grows as tall as the trees down there.

GAT_00: CNN now shows Gingrich ahead of Santorum in MS.

Really? 538 is still at 57% in, Santorum up by 2000 votes.

Wow, sorry folks, I was in the middle of a painfully long phone call, and wrote that too quickly. I meant Gingrich was ahead of Romney in MS. At that moment on cnn.com, he was only about 1000 votes short of Santorum. It's not nearly as close now.

Looks like I was FWD (Farking While Distracted).
