I love how to conservatives, someone asking a question = challenging.

No wonder they hate the lamestream MSM media.

The generation that grew up on Boy Meets World is procreating now, I see.

So, she resorted to lying to an 11-year-old because the kid was right.

Curious- which part was the lie? I must have missed that.

How did promoting a healthy lifestyle become controversial again?

And which part was the kid "right" about? She just asked a question.

Man, I remember the days when Nancy Reagan was blasted by the right for daring to tell kids to "Just Say No." Where did that socialist harpy get off telling kids what they could and couldn't do? And don't get me started on Laura Bush's education and women's health campaigns!

2012-03-13 10:10:13 AM
Michelle Obama doesn't hold any official Government position. So when she says kids should eat healthier she is exercising free speech. Very non-controversial free speech as well.

Non-story. I loved the article in Heritage Foundation where they say Michelle Obama was concerned with childhood "obesity". They put "obesity" in quotes just like that because apparently it is a fictitious problem.

Did an 11 year old write this? Because I can understand someone that age failing to understand the difference between government policy and some pet issue a First Lady chooses to promote...

sweetmelissa31: How did promoting a healthy lifestyle become controversial again?

To conservatives, "promoting" = "government control".

Nothing says quality like the news section of a Spanish radio station running stories from "The Blaze".

I'm sure the kid in question was probably prodded to ask that by their teabagging parent.

As for subby, only thing I can think of to explain it is them probably bashing their head on concrete for sport.

In other news, childhood obesity in the US has tripled since 1980. Tripled.

Sorry, I meant "obesity".

I think it's a good idea for America to take advise on important public policy issues from eleven year old girls.

2012-03-13 10:36:37 AM
#1: The kid actually asked how she responded to critics. The girl wasn't the one criticizing.

#2: What is the one thing that makes Michelle unique among First Ladies and their initiatives and causes? Why didn't people react this negatively to Laura Bush and literacy and libraries, Lady Bird Johnson and beautifying the highways, or even Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No"?

Hint: the answer to both parts of question 2 is the same.

These assholes will fall all over themselves to say "listen to the Generals" when it comes to war. But when those same military leaders said that obesity and poor fitness are weakening our defense, all we get is crickets.

Maybe, conservatives, just maybe, putting down that Twinkie *IS* the American, patriotic thing to do.

Eddie Adams from Torrance: I think it's a good idea for America to take advise on important public policy issues from eleven year old girls.

Grover Norquist came up with his tax pledge when he was 12.

In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all.

Because socialism and furthermore.

TOPANGA SENA: How do you respond to critics who say the government should not be telling people how to eat or to stay active?

A) that kid didn't write that question

B) The farking food pyramid didn't become a socialist plot until a black first lady started talking about healthy eating

Miss Topanga is certainly showing promise as a reporter and, according to the Free Beacon, is currently reporting for Scholastic News Kids Press Corps in Florida.

So, who else initially read that as Free Bacon?

The gubbermint showed up at my door at 5am to make me do push-ups and jumping jacks and then called me fatty and laughed.

So even an 11 year old can lob a really slow softball right into the strike zone? Wow.

If a teabagger is impressed by this question, really they should just euthanize themselves now, they are wasting precious oxygen and bacon.

The government wouldn't have to step in if all your peers were not morbidly obese and going to cost us billions of dollars in diabetes medicine alone.

2012-03-13 11:14:11 AM

HotWingConspiracy: A) that kid didn't write that question

I don't have any problem with an 11-year-old would-be reporter getting help preparing to interview the first lady. But yeah, no kid that age has ever said "How do you respond to critics who say..." This is the dumbest thing ever in the history of things.

That's fine, people can eat whatever they want. Remember, you pay for their hospital treatment when a whole squad of fireman have to come to my ER and get their fat ass off the squad because they weigh in excess of 250 kilos.

Just Say No
Buckle Up
Buy War Bonds
Memorial Day
Independence Day

Presidential Fitness thing in junior high

...apparently all equal Big Government Telling People How To Live Their Lives.

It boggles the mind that there is outrage about this. Can you imagine liberals having gone after Laura Bush for promoting literacy? Yet somehow advocating for healthy lifestyle choices is tantamount to tyranny.

2012-03-13 11:16:05 AM
Oppressive, potentially abusive parent uses child as a mouthpiece to say what they want to tell the first lady, news at 11.

It's The Blaze. Glen Beck is impressed by the question.

"OK you little shiat, eat whatever you want. Just don't ask the big bad government for help when you have diabetes at 20."

Somewhere back in Civics class I remember something about "promote the general welfare."

Regulating food habits? Socialism!

Regulating sex habits? Freedom!

2012-03-13 11:20:29 AM
If the first lady advocating healthy eating is an issue maybe it's time to consider that America just isn't for you?

2012-03-13 11:20:52 AM
It's not like we're changing military standards and shelling out billions annually to take care of citizens with weight-related issues. Oh wait...

FTFY. There are no conservatives in the American right wing.

And what's with Ladybird Johnson wanting to "beautify" America's highways with wildflowers?

You don't tell me what to plant, biatch!

One more time for the slow folks:

THE KID DIDN'T "CHALLENGE" HER.
