Keep shaming that slut, GOP. It'll work eventually.

Now that the media feeding frenzy has calmed at least for a bit, it's worth saying that we've missed the whole point on Mizz Sandra Fluke. Fluke is the Georgetown Law School student who testified against the religious right of her school to refuse to pay for contraception because to do so would violate its religious principles.

Wow, way to fark up what you're talking about on the first graf.

Georgetown University students are welfare queens?

Oh, right, if you're not in the 1%, you are a drag on the economy.

The new welfare queens are apparently liberals with post-graduate degrees who work for a living and don't have kids.

... I think at least one of is is completely missing the point here, and I'm fairly certain it's the author.

I think the chicken has been reduced to a bloody mass of feathers by now.

vygramul: Georgetown University students are welfare queens?

Apparently so. I'm not sure how, since the health insurance at Georgetown is paid for by student dues of $1800 a year - and not by some kind of government handout; but enough people have told me that she's a freeloading skank that it must be true.

It's a ball of poultry down and semen, which, when combined with powdered sugar, licorice, and salt, becomes a Finnish confection known as Scrudjat.

I think it's my favourite when they cut it into tree shapes at Christmas. And it still beats lutefisk.

I love how the guy implies that a government job is more or less the same as being on welfare. I guess Obama, Congress and the whole of the military is also on welfare then huh?

Then he goes on to say that she will never produce anything of value to society. I suppose he thinks his blog where he gets to state his opinions is a worthwhile contribution? He is probably just jealous that the media attention she got has made her message known to a large majority of the American public, while he still toils under a rag publication that panders to his viewpoint.

Ah. Well, if she decides to sue Rush for defamation of character, let me help her by sending some of my hard earned money.

What is the point of this spelling? Is it like the opposite of the Ms. thing? Are they reclaiming their right to look down on unmarried adult women?

Asking taxpayers to pick up a $3,000 birth control bill while she attends an elite law school is like asking for welfare, isn't it?

No part of that statement is true, or even relevant to the conversation.

She wasn't asking taxpayers idiot. She was asking that student insurance companies paid for by students cover contraceptive drugs also associated with the treatment of medical issues.

This is dumb even for you.

By which he means, "A false stereotype created out of whole cloth to denigrate and attack a section of society he dislikes", I'm assuming...

Well then why did she go to Congress to demand it? Why didn't she just go to her insurance company?

No, my initial comment was correct. The law student wants Obamacare to force insurance plans to pay for birth control. And Obama lawyers justify the individual mandate in court by saying it's a tax.

If being forced to buy Obamacare is a tax, it's fair to say that this lady is asking for taxpayers to pay for her lifestyle, just like being on welfare.

Insurance regulation has nothing to do with taxation, even if you waterboard your logic and shoot it in the head.

Doctor Funkenstein: The highly educated, very marketable, well spoken, attractive young woman about to obtain a professional degree is a model welfare queen? Good luck in November GOPbaggers. This totally won't con't come back to bite you on the ass. I pinky swear.

yeah, she's an attractive, smart, well educated, well spoken, liberally inclined, politically active student at one of the most prestigious law schools in the country. But it doesn't really matter what she is, what really matters is what she represents - women like her scare the ever-loving shiat out of the wingnuts.

Expect to see the smears against her continue forever - years from now if her name comes up, she'll be referred to by Hannity and the other professional liars as "the woman who wanted taxpayers to pay for her birth control" or "that Liberal law student who was so promiscuous she couldn't afford to pay for her own birth control" in much the same way they casually talk about President Clinton being "offered Osama Bin Laden's head on a silver platter and turning it down."

It has been repeated by their authority figures enough that it is now The Truth, regardless of the actual facts

FTFA: Sandra Fluke is the model Welfare Queen for the 21st Century. Upper middle class to start, going to a very expensive (and very liberal law) school on scholarship,

Wait, I thought scholarships were the epitome of bootstrappiness? Did I miss the memo where they are now considered welfare"?

Who is this moron, anyway?

[Jed Babbin] guest-hosted The Rush Limbaugh Program on July 17, 2008. He guest-hosted the Mark Levin Show on August 10, 2009. He guest-hosted the Roger Hedgecock Show on April 21, 2010. He guest-hosted Michael Savage's show, The Savage Nation, on August 11 and 17, 2011, and again on January 23, 2012 and February 1, 2012.

that explains a lot

Wow... this is quite possibly the most perfect article for the Fark politics tab I've ever seen. It's topical, has a lot of nice buzzwords, a complete disconnect with reality and is chock full of outright fabrications.

Trollity, troll, troll.

Awesome.

So wait, is he talking about Sandra Fluke or Michelle Bachmann?

Marcus Aurelius: Insurance regulation has nothing to do with taxation, even if you waterboard your logic and shoot it in the head.

But Obama is the one making that argument, isn't he? His administration is arguing in the Supreme Court that the individual mandate is constitutional because it's really a tax law.
