The left testicular vein joins the left renal vein before joining the inferior vena cava while the right testicular vein (generally) hooks directly up to the inferior vena cava. Because of this anatomical difference the left testicle is more likely to have issues such varicocele with pain/discomfort, atrophy ect. If you ever have to choose, it's smarter to keep the right one.
