Police say an unidentified man got the attention of two young girls Friday just before 5 p.m. at the Hobby Lobby on Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe. The girl's, ages 10 and 13, say the man pulled down his pants and started masturbated in front of them.

Every man should have a hobby.

Decent place to buy casting resin in a pinch, too.

A little over-priced, but they're the only place in town where I can buy some now if I run out.

Radio Shack seems to have given up on just being a cell phone service reseller... local store is stocking cool shiat for the first time in my memory. Arduino boards, Velleman kits, actual cool hobby electronics stuff hanging on the pegs!

Are they scrapbookers/crafters? Scrapbookers/crafters alone can float the Hobby Lobby in my neighborhood, let alone the disposable income among the masturbation crowd. My wife has spent more money on scrapbook crap than there could ever be pictures and memories to justify having. And she takes alot of pictures to justify it. Sounds like you're still using Estes engines...

I've played with Aerotech engines off and on. They have an engine the size of the A/B/C form factor that's about as powerful as an Estes E, and they have engines the size of the D and E engines that Estes doesn't even have equivalents of...

If Hobby Lobby were a) open on Sunday when I have time to pursue my hobbies, and b) carried more non-kit rocket parts (specifically body tubes, which I seem to destroy with reckless abandon) then I'd shop there more. But, since it seems that no hobby stores stock replacement body tubes for the Estes Tomahawk sounding rocket (not the cruise missile) I haven't bothered to fix it after it nosedived...

My hatred for Hobby Lobby is only matched by my hatred for Michael's. I can usually find something to look at in any store, but after 15 seconds in either of these places I'm itching to get out. It's a nearly physical need.

/meanwhile, the wife is happily looking at shiat everywhere.

Hey, COPIC markers aren't cheap. That 40% off coupon is a nice thing to have.

I like Hobby Lobby for their picture frames and mat boards - they are both 50% off every other week (though never at the same time). I am a hobbyist photographer and am continually adding to my home gallery. I like matching frames, and they have a design I really like.

I don't buy their mat boards as much as I used to, though. They are mostly precut to 8 x 10, and lately I print most of my work at 8 x 12, so I need a custom cut - which they have managed to botch a few times.

I don't care for the frames or the mat boards at Michael's. When my wife wants to shop there, I usually mill about near the retro candy at the front of the store. I grew up next door to a neighborhood candy store and still have somewhat of a sweet tooth.

They are like craft goddesses. They most always find something that is farking cheap or a piece of shiat no one else wants, buy it and then work their magic on it into something you'll see in magazines. I do make fun of them, but they are very talented at what they do.

My hatred may not be as deep as yours but I know what you are talking about. I get conned into going there with an extra coupon to usually get something my wife wants more of. You can only use one coupon per purchase/item at Michaels. Some weird policy where you have to actually pay for something, leave the store then come back in to make another purchase if using a coupon. When ever I see my wife looking up the coupons for Michaels, I instantly start trying to think of an excuse to tell her I can't go.... but... she's a sly one.... waits patiently till she catches me doing nothing an off guard..... then it's off to Michaels.

offmymeds: 4NTLRZ: Why didn't you sat say, "Knobby Globby Lobby"?

Yes. "Treasures" abound.

CSB: Mrs. 4NTLRZ & I were in a Hobby Lobby a while back in search of some things for a school project for the youngest of our Spikes. There were all sorts of things in the aisle ranging from felt, to wooden dowels, to rabbit fur. So, little Spike comes across the rabbit fur and asks me what it is. I relate to him that it's rabbit fur.

He then looked a me quizzically & asked, "So this was a real rabbit?"
"Of course." I replied.
"But why did the rabbit have to die?", he queried.
At that point Mrs. 4NTLRZ chimes in with, "So you can have arts & crafts."

That's when several shoppers who were within earshot nearly had a collective Marie Osmond moment.

They're right there Chick-fil-A on my list of 'do not shop' because of their policies. They've taken Alliance Defense Fund off their list of ministries, but I think they've made their corporate beliefs pretty clear, and they still openly support plenty of other sketchy Jeebus groups.

The Hobby Lobby not far from wherer I live used to be pretty decent as far as yarn and other knitting supplies. The needlecraft section got smaller and smaller. I think barely 2 aisles. That and they fired the guy that worked in the needlecraft section because the manager "heard" he was gay (I bet there was buttsex involved). The employees provide the most depressing shopping experience I have ever had. And a cashier said "Merry Christmas", and I said "Happy Holidays", and that twat-waffle refused to give me my reciept until i said "Merry Christmas".

It doesn't surprise me that someone went in there to flash. it seems kinda of appropriate with all the wierd christiany things that are sold at the registers.

That would be a blast! As long as it isn't near Chipotles. I'm not sure why I have been so mad at people raving about that place coming when there are better burritos to be had at little league games. And that is less a knock on Chipotles than it is on how awesome the food is here!

The craft Hobby Lobby sells a lot more than Michaels or Joanns. I could see them carrying some of the stuff mentioned in the thread.

Unfortunately, they are jesus freaks. It's kind of annoying.

/Accidentally wore my "Catholic School Survivor" shirt to Hobby Lobby once and couldn't figure out why the cashier was giving me the stink eye the whole time.
